I sure was tempted, but I didnt cheat. I was so scared I was going to damage my sleeve. In fact, I started solids one week after the recommended time because my first attempt at solids did not go well. I had this stuck full feeling the whole day after just a bite of cauliflower (well cooked and soft). So I went back to pureed and started solids only after a week. LOL

On my first appt, the doctor explained lapband, gastric bypass and sleeve. Lapband was out of question for me because it almost will never work because South Indian food tends to be more mushy - so the band is not going to hold it for a long time. So my choice was either GB or VSG. Now, I made up my mind pretty quick that I was NOT going to get GB because of the whole malnutrition thing. I could not imagine taking meds my WHOLE LIFE due to malnutrition.
Getting sleeved was the best decision I ever made. I regret that I had not done this a few years back. I'm 11 weeks out and feel so much better, lighter and energetic.
After reading many stories here, I'm not really comfortable with Lapband either -- there seems to be a higher rate of complication in it. So GB or VSG would be a great choice.
I hope everything works out fine for you. All the best!! :-)

LOL @ winning the Olympics -- well, if they did make it an Olympic event, you'll have some serious competition from me. I make some decidedly unlady like burping sounds after my meals. I usually make sure I'm alone inside my cabin at the office for atleast 20 - 30 mins after meals :-)

I wish you great success!! I'm 6 weeks post op and still have not started on my treadmil. I tried to get on it on the 4th week, but I got a stinging pain in my largest incision whenever I tried the treadmil. I will give it a try tomo :-)

I was okay at the 3rd week post op. But I did not return to work till the beginning of fifth week. My work is not physical at all -- I'm a software engineer. Though I did not feel any pain, I used to get tired in the middle of the day and needed a nap for atleast about 2 hrs. So I just thought why risk it and stayed home the whole one month. If you can, do take atleast 3 weeks off. You'll feel more energetic..
