  1. This sounds interesting! Are you using a specific book or website as a guideline?
  2. So, just out of curiosity, are pill organizers "approved" containers? LOL!
  3. Whatever we choose, moderation is the key! Have never heard that honey is hard to digest; in fact, I have read just the opposite. IMO the key is how little processing a product goes through. Even the herb Stevia is so highly processed today that it causes potential side effects, too. The less processed any food is, the better it is for us. Again, this is just my opinion.
  4. Since my tummy does much better on real foods, I try to stay away from artificial sugar, although I do eat sugar-free Popsicles! Rarely do I sweeten my hot tea, but when I do I use raw honey. I also make my own electrolyte drink with water, raw honey, fresh lemon juice and a good, unrefined sea salt.
  5. All great ideas! When we were kids, Mom made "Meatza"......another good meal to satisfy those pizza cravings.
  6. I understand that "gnawing" feeling! When I don't take mine first thing in the morning, I sure feel it later in the day! Right now, I just buy Omeprazole from Costco.....much cheaper for me that way. If it stops working, I will talk to my dr about a prescription.
  7. I really appreciate all these encouraging words! Thank you, thank you, thank you! It is so true....before surgery I probably would have eaten the whole fritter and not told Mom and Dad we bought one for them! (my husband and I live with and take care of my folks). Today is a new day.
  8. I hear you! It was not even a craving....just an old bad habit that popped up out of nowhere!
  9. MY husband and I went out for brunch, and I did good....about 1/2 an egg, and 1/3 cup of chili. We brought a homemade apple fritter home for Dad and Mom. Unfortunately, I ate about 1/4 of it. Admittedly, it tasted good, but I know it was not a wise choice at all.....
  10. I have not bought any, C, but I think Amazon has a bunch of flavors.
  11. Found out about this today....think the offer ends on the 30th. This info comes from someone else: Go the photo dept at Walgreens and ask for the Walk with Walgreens free pedometer kit, which also includes a drawstring bag. I registered online before I went, but I think you can register there as well. They do have to ring you up and zero out the transaction. Oh, and the drawstring bag and pedometer both say Celebrity Apprentice on them. I guess Walgreens is a big sponsor of the show. I think the offer only runs through April. Bonus: you can log your miles and earn coupons. to pre-register: http://walk.walgreens.com/
  12. Well, I was fine until I ate a piece of raw cauliflower and obviously dudn't chew it up enough! Now, it is stuck and hurts like crazy! Thank God for these subtle reminders! This Saturday is Bingo day with Mom. My husband and I live with and take care of my folks, and on e a month is the Bingo outing at one of the local casinos! Jerry stays hom with Dad, and I take Mom. Usually, there are about 6 of us. I am 5 weeks post-op tomorrow, and doing okay, except when I forget to chew, chew, chew!
  13. I am so sorry to hear of your situation, although I believe posting about it is a step in the right direction. You are now on my prayer list!
  14. How was the ice cream, Lissa?
  15. VERY COOL! You look fabulous.
  16. I like Fage and Chobani. Don't think I have tried Oikos yet. My favorite way to have my yogurt is mixed with frozen blueberries. Sometimes I add Stevia if I want it a bit sweeter.
  17. You are most welcome! I knew the information would be useful to someone. I have bookmarked it also.
  18. This was said already. But the pain meds can cause constipation. A stool softener will help tremendously.....I discovered a day too late!
  19. I took my pain meds for at least 10 days. Started with every 4 hours, then six, then 8.... My advice while on pain meds, take a stool softener! I didn't, and, oh my!
  20. Enjoy! http://www.dlife.com/diabetes/information/slide_show_pdf_files/new_pdfs/Lowest_Carb_Fruits.pdf
