I've only been banded for 4 days, so I really rely on the information from other more experienced band'sters and my surgeons office. But, what I was told is walking is golden from as early on as possible... all other exercise, like arms, legs and core muscle building should wait until six weeks post op. Your doctors office will definitely give you the answers you'll want to follow. Best wishes. It's sure to be an exciting journey!

Ive been food obsessed too. It's kinda making me mad. Lol! I am already counting the days until I get real food!! Like you, I'm still feeding the family and the smells are, oh, so, good! But I know we can do this. I wanted it too badly to mess things up now. Hang in there... there are a lot of us "out here" looking to each other for hope!

I would totally feel just as you do. I have been telling myself from day one that I will need to be patient and forgiving of myself, but having to really exercise that sentiment is a whole different thing. Hang tough and keep us posted. I'm looking to you and others on this forum to keep me strong. (I'm only 2 days post op so I also have a lot to learn!) Best wishes Domika03!!

I have bookmarked this page because, well quite frankly, it is AWESOME!
Similarities are purely coincidental... Lol.

I'm in the beginning phase too. I looked into weight loss surgery years ago, but never felt I could afford it. Then, my sister-in-law had banding done about a year ago and I became interested in it all over again. It has been 6 months since my decision to have gastric banding, yet only now does the dream feel obtainable. I finally think the finances are set, so now it's just a matter of crossing off the lengthy "to do's" from the checklist I've been given before my surgery date can be set. However, during this time I am looking to find out all I can from online members like yourself and post-ops. I less frightened about the procedure as I am about failing, but I feel like this is my best shot. My biggest stress right now is the waiting. I look forward to following your progress!
