Weight Loss Standstill
I have also hit a plateau. I was banded Aug 23 2011. I have been stuck at 207-208 for about the last month. It is very frustrating, especially when I come om here and see that others have lost a lot more sometimes even twice as much. I have tried to change up my workout and take in less calories. Still nothing. Very frustrating but will keep trying.

program fees
I wasn't charged for anything. I do have a $12 co-pay for Monthly Dr visits. I didn't know some Dr's were doing this. I am glad mine doesn't, I don't know if I could afford it.

Discouraged... :(
When I was doing my 6 month diet plan my dr office told me not to lose any weight. I would go up and down about 2 lbs each month. If we could lose weight we wouldn't need the Lapband. I have tried everything and the most I ever lost was about 15 lbs until now. Good luck with you insurance.

No Fill today
Congratulations. It sounds like things are going well for you. I didn't get my first fill until 4 months after my surgery. My doctor wants me to lose about 2 lbs per week. He says it is the healthy way.

Pre-op diet
My doctor had me on a no carb diet 2 weeks prior to surgery.

Hair Loss
Thanks for your words of encouragement. I read on here before my surgery about the hair loss but didn't know it would be so bad. I hope mine starts to grow back soon.

Hi I Live In London And Date Is 14 Days Away!!
Hi Steve, I am glad things seem to be going well for you. You will use the pillow against your stomach for getting up and down. You can hold it against yourself if you need to cough or sneeze. I also slept with it to help hold my stomach in place and to roll over./ I agree with you on finding this forum, it has helped a lot. When I had my doubts or got nervous I would come on here. And it is full of helpful information. / Lela

I Feel Like This Is Counter To What I Am Trying To Do But Im Desperate!
I did not have to gain any but I was borderline with my BMI that I could not lose in while doing my 6 month diet plan. If I had lost any my insurance would not pay for the surgery. It doesn't make any sense. If I could have lost it on my own and been able to keep it off I would not need the surgery. The most I have been able to lose is about 15-20 but not any more and keep it off. I was banded on 23 Aug and glad I have had it done. I aws really nervous but new if I chickened out I would have regretted it the next day and every day after. Good luck.

Day 2 Post Op-9/4 Surgery
It was wonderful to have broth (warm in my stomach). I didn't care for the broth so my husband made chicken noodle soup he ate the noodles and I got the broth. It was wonderful. Later when able tomato and cream of potato (puréed) was awesome. Congratulations!

Vitamins
My Dr. Told me to take two Flintstone chewables believe it or not. I don't care for them and at my next apt I am going to ask if I can crush my regular vitamins (one a day). I think it is up to your Dr.

Hi I Live In London And Date Is 14 Days Away!!
Hi Steve, it is really going well. The only thing I am finding difficult is drinking enough Water. I do use crystal light to make it easier. I am glad I am off the liquid stage. It isn't as difficult as I thought it would be. I hope it continues as well as it has been going so far. I hope you do well on your low carb diet. That honestly was difficult for me. I didn't realize how many carbs we had through out the day and what all is considered a carb. Goodness, that was hard. Good luck with your preop stage. You will get through this stage and then get your band. Congratulations! Lela PS get a little pillow for your stomach after the surgery it honestly helps and Chapstick.

New To This Website, Just Got My Lapband On Tuesday 8/28/12
Hi Cindy, my name is Lela. I got banded on the 23rd of Aug also. I am still in a little pain but gets better everyday. I am grateful for my little pillow. I only have one spot that is painful. I think it might be where my port is. Now that I am starting to feel better I am getting excited again.

Getting Frustrated
I had my seminar in Nov 2011 and had my surgery Aug 23,2012. My insurance had me do a lot before they would approve it. I went through a lot of different feelings since it took so long (excitement, nervouse, scared, then excitement again). I came to this forum a lot. I knew if I chickened out I would so regret it the next day ifididnt do it and probably every day after that.

Pre-Op Diet??
My op date is Aug 23. My Dr. Put me on a no carb diet. I have seen different diets that people have been on here to. I would call and see if you should be on some sort off meal plan just I case.

Insurance Question...
I had to do the same 6 month plan for my insurance. My surgeons nurse told me to just not lose any weight. Dont change anything. I dont know everything you have to do to prepare for your surgeon, but by the time I got all my appts done (tests, nutritionist, evals) the six months are up. I do have to see a cardiologist because of EKG came back abnormal. I was really frustrated at first to. If I could lose the weight by dieting I wouldnt need the surgery. I think the insurance companies hope some people will change their minds since they will have to wait so long.

Hello Tricare Lap Band Surgery Questions
I have tricare prime. We are at Camp Lejeune NC. I didn't find out that I had to do the 6 month nutrition plan until I saw the surgeon. I go every month (since Nov 2011) to have my PCM sign the paperwork. I was disappointed when I found out I had to do it, but figure it will be worth it in the long run. Also, the insurance will pay for the surgery. But still frustrating.
