  1.    ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to a comment on a blog entry: I miss eating...
  2. Me too. Especially when I go out to lunch or dinner with friends and family.
  3. Totally normal. I went through a lot of mixed emotions before my surgery. After was quite emotional too for a week or so. After that I have not second guessed myself. Been very happy with the decision.
  4. I took 2 weeks off and that was more than enough, although 4 days wouldn't have been enough for me. Took all i could and enjoyed the time off where i felt fine and could get myself organized for things that I didn't think of
  5. Personally, I do not go by any of those statistics because it is an average taking the people who did not work it mixed with the ones who did use it as it was intended. If you search and read a lot on here you will see many many success stories of people who worked the band, changed their habits and have beaten those statistics over and over. Have not seen many or any that i recall where people worked it properly and did not succeed in excess of the "average". It is only a tool after all, it is what you do with it that matters. You can do it.
  6. I set my fitnesspal to 1000 cals a day. Rarely get to the limit. With or without exercise. Not really restricted too much yet so some days it is a struggle.
  7. Hi all. I am also an RN, from Canada, banded 2/13/12. Took 2 weeks off work after the surgery. Loving it and soo happy that I did it. The first week I was pretty emotional wondering what i did to myself and questioned my decision but now feel it is the best thing that I ever could have done to take care of myself. We spend so much time looking after other people for me, at least, I often forget about me.
  8. I used to take cymbalta and it made me very nauseated at first and also got a lot of hot flashes. After a couple of weeks the symptoms wore off. You can try to take it with 25 mgs of gravol or something if it is just the nausea.
  9. The band is inside, it would do nothing to it at all.
  10. Me too! I wondered about the same thing. If I should cover up the incisions with a bandaid or something.
  11. I haven' t lost a lot so far but have dropped a couple of sizes in clothing. I don't know about others but i have a huge range of sizes in my closet from yo yo dieting over the years. Never could get rid of the smaller sizes as I was keeping them for "one day". Many I have not been able to fit into for years. The other day I was cleaning out my closet and looked at a dress and thought I would try it on for fun never thinking it would fit and not only did it but it was loose. I have been this way my whole life too, even when i was young and relatively thin I thought that I was way bigger than I actually was.
  12. For the mushy food, I love refried beans with a bit of reduced fat melted on top, with a tablespoon of plain greek yogurt, top it of with a tablespoon of taco sauce. Totally yummy
  13. I was banded on February 13th and had my first fill today. Total of 3cc. I eat almost identical meals to you! lol I mix it up once in a while and have cottage cheese. I also do the greek yogurt, hummus and tuna a lot. Don't eat pudding but i do eat Jello.
  14. I am now booked for Monday at 2pm, Was just told to not have anything too heavy in the morning and nothing 2 hours before. After for the rest of the day, basically mushy. I would just call in the morning and ask if they didn't tell you.
  15. I actually had an electric blanket that i lay across the bed and slept on top of it so the heat was constant. lol
  16. i was banded the 13th of February and the shoulder pain was killer. Lasted about 4 days. Did the whole gas X and walking thing but what helped me the most was the heating pad. After about 6 days felt almost 100% back to normal. It gets much much better. Congrats to you all on the start of your new life.
