JennK2008 got a reaction from DesertRose80 in Did your sex life change after lapband
It was great before and even better after. I think now that I have lost so much weight I am more comfortable and confident for the most part The only thing is I like it better now totally dark with the lights out. Even though I feel more sexy than I did before I just prefer not to see the extra skin so I feel better if my hubby doesn't see it either. He tells me he loves me no matter what and is so proud of how well I've done losing weight.

I had surgery October 18, I'm in no pain tolerating liquids well!!! I'm in a little discomfort where my port is. My blood pressure is the lowest it's been in years!!! I had no nausea, I'm up walking around!!! I'm soooo glad I had this surgery. My doctor did discover I did have a hiatal hernia, which he removed!!! I can't wait to see my progress in a few months and start to exercise! !!

JennK2008 got a reaction from Gettin Control in Stress
Get back to your doctor and see what he/she says. When I was ready to get back on track my doctor wouldn't let me have a fill, he made me get back on track and come back in 4 weeks. I go back this Thurs. I am ready for my appointment.
I got out my food journal and write down everything I put in my mouth, including the 1 M&M I had. I also keep track of my exercise daily.
I have only lost 3lbs in the last 3 weeks but I have lost inches as my clothes are alot looser than they were. I am hoping to get that fill on Thursday as I feel I need more restriction.
If you want we can be accountable together as we are both getting back on track!!

JennK2008 got a reaction from Holly Dolly in Friend Beening Very Negative
I lost a so called "friend" not long after I was banded. She decided to end our friendship, bottom line she was jealous of me. I had gotten married 9 months prior to my surgery and then when I started losing weight and was getting compliments that's when the problems began. She was no longer the center of attention as I was getting compliments everytime we had "girls night". People who hadn't seen me in a while would be in shock how much weight I had lost and some said they didn't even recognize me. It breaks my heart that someone who used to be so closed to me ended our frienship over something so petty.
I'm still friends with everyone else besides "her". The other girls still compliment me on my success and even one is going through the approval process. I say if someone is jealous of you for being a healthier you then to hell with them. I'm just glad I have a support team which consists of my husband, family and a great group of friends.

I was banded Sept 2009 and I started off at 254 and am currently 171. I need to jumpstart my weight loss. I only have 2.5 cc's in my 10cc band. I am going to hopefully get a fill on Thursday. Fill or no fill I'm starting liquids again to get back on track.
    Together we can do this!!

Thats great that you have lost 44lbs!!! You go girl!!!
You do your best the next week and go in there and let your doctor praise you for your weight loss! You have done a great job even though you haven't reached your personal goal yet. Don't let that get you down. Weight is nothing but a number be proud of the new size you are in and the healthier you are 44lbs lighter!!
I have been stuck on a plateau myself and started doing 30 min a day on the elliptical 5 days a week. I started doing 5 min at a time for 30 min now I'm up to 30 min without stopping. I plan on adding an extra 5 min a day each week until I'm back up to 45 min. I'm only down 3lbs over the last 3 weeks but I can tell I've lost inches and my clothes are getting looser.

I always weigh first thing after I pee in the morning. My scale and my doctors scale is exactly 2lbs different. I would stick to the same scales and weigh only before you have eaten or drank anything. There are days where I have gotten on the scale thinking how in the world did I gain 4lbs today? Then I remember that I ate dinner and then worked out and drank a couple bottles of Water. The next morning I'm back to normal and hopefully a little lighter. Good luck on your journey!!

JennK2008 got a reaction from readytogoforit in Diet Slip Up
remember this is not a diet it's a lifestyle change. There are gonna be times when you eat a little more than normal or eat something that is bad for you.
We all do it/ have done it. Like the others said today is a new day.
Well actually it's superbowl Sunday so tomorrow is a new day for me especially since we are having a houseful of people and all kinds of temptations. I don't struggle so much with eating too much but on a day like today more like just eating the wrong stuff.
One thing I suggest is when you do "cheat" make sure that you add that to you food journal (anything that goes into your mouth) that will help you be more accountable!!

I cannot tolerate bread at all but I did try Orowheat whole wheat sandwich thins the other day and was able to eat it without getting stuck. They have 100 cal, and 5g protien. I toast them so now I eat a sandwich for lunch from time to time. Great too if you ever miss the occasional hamburger. I also like to put a hamburger or sandwich meat inside a lettuce leaf in place of the bread.
I like the greek yogurt because it has more protien and less sugar than regular yogurt. I eat the flavored kinds like honey, blueberry and clementine flavors.

JennK2008 got a reaction from Holly Dolly in How Did You Reward Yourself?
Achieving your weight loss goal should be a reward in itself however I rewarded myself with a day at the spa. I had a pedicure, and a message. Nothing like pampering yourself for accomplishing each goal. Keep up the good work!!!

JennK2008 got a reaction from nicksmommy in How Many People Have You Told?
I was banded in September 2009 and I only told my family and very close friends. The only reason I didn't tell anyone else was it was none of their business and I was afraid that I would fail like I had at every diet I had tried before. Not to mention that people who have never ahd a weight problem can be so judgemental and think that WLS is the easy way out. When people started noticing my weight loss and asked me how I was doing it I would tell them that I cut out all the bad stuff that I was over indulging in before (bread, sweets, soda and fast food etc). I wasn't lying I just didn't tell the entire story.
After losing 114 pounds (even though I have gained some back), I have proven to myself that I am not a failure and I am no longer ashamed of failure and am proud to tell people about my band! In fact I was asked to give my testimony at the WLS seminar where I had my surgery done. I was so glad to share my story with others who were considering having surgery.
Good luck to you on your journey and do what makes you comfortable!!
