Your weight loss has only just begun. I actually gained a few pounds, before my first fill. Once you begin to be filled, you will learn your portion sizes and what you can and cannot eat... Dont worry about the weight for now. You will get there...
  3. i used carnation instant breakfast, no sugar added pre made protein drinks... they taste pretty good and only contain natural sugar from lactose...

How Long Have You Been Banded?

just over 8 months for me...
  5. When I started my journey, I was told I would lose anywhere from one to three pounds a week. They told me that it would take three to five years to lose around fifty percent of excess body fat. Everyone is different. Some will lose faster than others. They can't really tell you how fast or slow you will lose. I started the whole process in December of 2010. I was banded in April of 2011 and I am down a total of 87 pounds. I have friends that had the surgery and are losing slower and or faster. It all depends on your eating and how much you excersize. Good luck to you on your journey!!
  6. just got home from the doctors... down another five!!!

Eric, I had the same thoughts going thru my head for a week before my surgery. I think its just the surgery part that makes everyone feel a little uneasy.. And to GLove, as with everything, you have to chew your food very well. I eat salad in very small bites, and chew until very mushy. I have had food get stuck. When that happens, I instantly go for a quick walk. I try my hardest to not throw up. Most of the time the walk helps. I can no longer eat bread ( it gets stuck every time)

Hi. So far my experience has been great. I would do this over again in a heartbeat. Before my surgery, I tired everything. I gave up sodas and started to eat healthier, and I gained weight. This was the best decision I have ever made. The hardest part is learning what you can and cannot eat. After each adjustment, there are new thing I cannot eat. I am currently at 11cc's and have a few things I really enjoy eating. I love salad, so I do eat it a lot. My doctor said to stay away from creamy dressings, but I cant give them up. I am a truck driver, so finding foods to eat on the road is difficult. I do not get very much exercise, but whenever I am home I hit the gym as much as possible. The best tip I was given, was before you eat, tear a little piece off and put it in Water. If it expands, don't eat it. Best of luck to you! it will change your life for the better!
  10. Happy New Year everyone!!!

Does Anyone Else Eat Sugar Free Protein Bars?

I just use protein shots. They are only 2oz and have around 26 grams of protein in them. I was drinking two shakes a day to get the same amount of protein, and have found the power shots to have less sugar and calories. they taste a little funky, but you get used to it!
