Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!
Nope, unless I stall... I am however watching my carb intake daily. I so far noticed I am pretty good with keeping it at 40 and below grams a per day. Seems to be working for me so far. I have increased my exercise level too. I know once I lose more weight I will need to adjust it again, but for now its working and I am completely satisfied. As they say, the show must go on...............LOL

Slim Fast, Low Carb Protein Drink
As you all know I am still out to find a Protein drink/shake that I can tolerate without feeling sick. There are too many to count what I bought, this is just another attempt to get in more protein. I ordered more drinks and protein candy bars, just waiting for them to come in through the mail, and I will post results once they arrived and I have tested them. I found these at walmart.com site on sale. This is a 4 pack, creamy chocolate - It taste very good chilled, I just drank it so I am waiting to see how I feel later on. I will posts once I get all the Protein Bars in as well. I like the fact its got a great amount of protein and is super low carb/calories. Its also packed with nutrients, another plus. I am not following the slim fast diet, this is just for a source of protein and will be used with a meal or as a replacement. See pictures below....

Home Exercise
OHH it held allll of me, well over 300 of me...... difference now, I can fly on it a whole lot longer and faster. My heart beat has increased, my workout is much more intense now than when I first started. I also have found other ways to workout with this machine, it really is the best workout I think, especially since i have severe arthritis in my left hip, my right hip was placed many years ago due to arthritis.

pre op diet how hard was it?
Hi Erin, its the fear of the unknown that concerns you. it would be just to say the same as 'I don't know if having weight loss surgery will work". We fear because of all the attempts we have made in the past to try and lose weight in the first place, and failed. Moving forward, you must think positive! Like, I CAN DO THIS! I HAVE TO DO THIS! I WANT TO DO THIS! I NEED TO DO THIS! Being on the pre-op diet is not the end of the world, heck I was afraid I wasn't going to survive either, but guess what I did! I did because I had the fear of the unknown too! You can do this! Stay strong, think positive, and most importantly YOU HAVE TO WANT IT! (hugs)

Not being embarassed at the register when the cashier rings up my pants and then proceeds to hold them out for the whole world to see as they fold them OMG! I can't tell you how embarrassing that is, and the underwear too!! I can't wait for that NSV! I want to scream, just throw them in the bag woman!!! LOLOLOL

silly success yet again...
CG, I know this may sound crazy, but I found something that works for me when putting pantyhose on, I take a little bit of hand/body lotion and rub a little on my legs and on my hands and the pantyhose seem to slip up nicely withouth getting snagged or having that lovely 'electric' shock ... Yes take off the rings before putting the hoses on, I had ripped so many in my day .. Congrats on your NSV!!!

Silly NSV.....
Okay, this is really silly as in my topic title so don't laugh --- You know those stupid seats where you have to get your blood work done (the ones with the arm/handle that goes across your body? Okay I fit into it now,and the arm went right across with NOOO problem at all. I kept looking around the edges, back and forth, and the girl taking my blood work said to me "is everything okay", I was like OHHH Yea! I can fit into this damn chair now ... haaahaaaa ahh, she didn't get it, but I hope you all do!!!!

To Baby or NOT to Baby
My pamphlet instructions from my bariatric surgeon said not to get pregnant for a year! Oh dear lord, I can't imagine getting pregnant at 49. I am already a grandmother to a almost 7 year old, LOLOLOLOL. You want my old opinion sweety- enjoy your new life being banded first, enjoy your new marriage, enjoy eachother 'first' ... take it from someone who got pregnant as a 'teenager' and missed out!!!

Thanks!
Same to you too Dee! The reason why we all stay is because I beleive it helps to keep us motivated. Everyone helps eachother out, we all have been there and know exactly how it feels. We are by far the best supporters for eachother! Stick around, read and post we would love to hear from ya

A Word of Encouragment - My Story
B52 is so accurate about the exercising and weight. I too was one of those people whos weight was too much to carry around, walk, exercise, really moving around all together was a struggle. I started little by little moving, I got out my old edge gazelle and was only able to do 10 minutes, and believe me this is not a hard machine to do. The more weight I lost the more I was able to increase my activity. Today, I am at 45 minutes (non-stop) on my gazelle and 10 more extra minutes focusing on my upper body by stretching with an elastic stretch band, and lifting 2 lb weights. Its still work in progress, but beleive me its a whole lot better than where I came from.... Nice post B52!

Significant loss with no fills
I haven't had a stuck episode yet! (thank god), however I have felt discomfort if I eat too fast or drink something too soon after eating. I practice the same guide lines as everyone who has been banded, smaller bites, and chewing my food as if my mouth was a mini food processor. I stick by the golden rule, never eat more than a cup per meal. I can tolerate anything when it comes to food.

Significant loss with no fills
I haven't had a fill (yet). Doesn't mean I will never, just that where I am at now in my weight loss my surgeon feels there is no need to touch me (in his own words). I see him again in 2 weeks, ya never know when things will change....

No artificial sweeteners...suggestions?
Its a sweetner you add to your foods/drinks/teas, etc. I beleive they come in little packets like the other sweetners come in. I am waiting to try it myself, its the only sweetner I haven't tried yet. I really hope it doesn't make me sick. I will post soon about it....

So Bad!!!!
Natalie gives great advice, as you can tell from her ticker she is another success weight loss story on this forum. Now, for starters you have to keep in mind that the band does not keep you from over eating, you do! The band keeps us feeling satisfied on less food. We can not go over a cup of food per meal. We must track everything we put into our mouths to be successful. Most everyone I know on this site TRACKS everything. I firmly believe this is what makes us all accountable for what we eat and put into our bodies. Cleaning house, you know what that means? If you feel it will sabatoge, throw it out and don't bring it in. Keep healthy alternative Snacks in the house. I purposely look for delish snacks that are low in calories/carbs just for those moments. You don't have to deprive yourself really, its all about self control. I have learned this through my journey. I too have ate Cookies over the holidays, but I stopped after 2. That was it! When I felt I couldnt' deal to see it in the house anymore, I litterally made phone calls and gave it away, and the last of it got thrown away. Its just not worth it! Holidays are over, officially! Its a new day, a new year! You lost 39 lbs, and that is a great start! Believe in yourself, want it, want it sooo bad enough to make this work for you, because YOU are the only one that can do this for you..... ((hugs))
