  1. Ha! They said from the picture! lol. Im soooo glad that your insurance didnt take you for the ride of your life as mine did. Thats super awesome!
  2. Well i guess i dont feel so bad then! 6 weeks is a long time! Good luck to you too!
  3. So my surgeon wants me to lose "over 20 lbs" so i was put on a liquid diet for 3 weeks and 4 days. ive lost 12 so far in week one. I am drinking meal replacement shakes for every meal and nothing else except water. Week one was good. I wasnt too hungry and just tried to stay focused. Now in week 2, i find myself more hungry at dinner time so i am making a small salad with little dressing with tomatoes and no cheese or meat or croutons in the evening instead of the shake. I figured that i can still hit my 24 lb goal like this but i have to stay focused. At least the salad will give me something to look forward to. And of course the night before surgery, i wont have anything. I do have a couple events this weekend including a dinner party and a lunch for my daughter at Goofys kitchen at the disneyland resort but my plan is to stick to salads and get use to not always looking forward to eating but to enjoy the party. I can do this.
  4. Maybe instead on the french dip sandwich and chips for dinner, you could have a grilled chicken salad with lite balsalmic vinegar dressing. If you really want the results that you desire then you have to work extremely hard to get it. Also, maybe you could begin hiking or swimming. Lastly, skip the hershey bars and save them for someone who isnt interested in losing weight. Stay focused!
  5. Maybe you should try a Spinning class. That will really get you sweating. Maybe the problem is that your body has gotten use to the type of exercising that you are doing and you need to do something that will take it up a notch to really get you the results that you want.
  6. Well you could get a full detail description of the requirements for weight loss surgery. Sometimes that helps and you have a less chance of receiving any surprises
  7. Well, i had to see a NUT for 6 months and then i had to get my psych eval then surgery consultation then get cardiac clearance then pulmonology clearance then finally got approval and in between each of those clearances, i had to get approval from my ins which took 2 weeks alone. But some people dont have to go thru all of this as i did. My friend, from start to finish took 3 months. I almost wanted to kick her when she told me. lol.
  8. Oh cool! I went to the hospital yesterday and signed all of the consent forms and registered with the hospital. Im not looking forward to pain but i am looking forward to my new life. Have you made your shopping list yet? I gotta start my vitamins this saturday. YAY!!
  9. Well depending on the type of insurance that you have, determines the approval and surgery date process. It took me 13 months to get approved.
  10. My date is Dec 22nd! I am soooooo excited! My surgeon requested that i begin my liquid diet yesterday. Im so excited that its almost over that im not even mad. lol.

  15. Hey Guys, Lets make things easier for eachother and list some of the necessary items that we will need to buy before surgery! This is what i got : Gummy Multivitamins Low sodium, Low Fat broth Ear Plugs (noisey hospital) Pajamas Socks (Just feel like buying new ones!) Heated blanket (Word is that you will always be cold) Biotin Vitamins (helps with hair loss) New scale (for weekly weigh ins)
  16. i think you should postpone the surgery and keep you job. Its not easy to get a good job these days. Also, be honest with your employer and see what she says. Luckily my employer is always supportive of my decisions as long as i am honest and not trying to bs them.
