This analogy is SO TRUE!! I've already finished the Trilogy myself, but I can tell you the Victory would not been as sweet without all the battles in between. Keep pushing, and CONGRATS on this major milestone.

Total nerd lover, here. I love the analogy you've used. Brilliant and expressive. Don't worry... we will be 'your Sam', you won't have to make that journey alone. Congratulations on your great accomplishment so far. I am still working on the insurance angle, and don't even have a date, (I long to be Legolas - light as a feather, walking atop the snow) and so I am the fellowship left for another task, yet carrying you in my thoughts and knowing you will reach your goal. I'll catch up to you in that enchanted place, some day.

Awesome post! Congratulations on breaking 300 and just think how it'll feel when you keep getting closer to 'Mount Doom'. (By the way, I love the comparison). Keep us posted and keep rockin' your inner nerd as I'm a firm believer that they make the best, and most interesting, posts! If nothing else, having a sense of humor about it all makes the journey more bearable!

Be proud of you inner nerd! Nerds and Geeks rule a lot of the world (think BIll Gates and those wizards from Facebook)and are responsible for all the good toys we take for granted (the wheel, fire, electricity, computers, etc). I am proud to be a geek - both professionally (engineer) and personally (love Star Trek, Lord of the RIngs, etc).
Congratulations on breaking 300. The next 100 will be gone before you know it.

If you are always dizzy and weak, I fear you are not getting enough protein. Is there a way you can get a test to be sure you do not have a leak or anything bad. The back pain does not sound normal.
As far as not losing weight right now, I am 5 1/2 weeks out and have been in a stall for 2 1/2 weeks now, but can feel myself shrinking. I know the loss is coming soon. It's a process your body is going through and you have to be patient with it.
Take care of your health and don't worry about the loss. It will happen. It IS a very emotional time, and many people go through some emotional changes. There are lots of hormones being released back into your system and little things WILL make you cry. That part is normal. Hopefully soon all these unpleasant things will be a distant memory. Praying for you dear.

LOL! That is hilarious! And I can tell you that for me, being almost 5 weeks out, food just doesn't have the same appeal to me anymore. I've been out to eat 3-4 times now and things that I used to love just taste "ok" to me now, and I have no desire to pig out on them anymore. I've heard other people say that as well but I never believed it would be that way for ME, but it is and I'm grateful!

Just gotta love this. I had a love hate relationship with food forever and now I can take it or leave it. My favorite foods don't taste good and the things I hated taste great. Love the fact that all I need is just a taste (1 bite) of something and then walk away.
I hated green veggies wouldn't eat them at all and now I find I crave them go figure.
I am 6.5 weeks out and eating (tasting) food again but with out the worries. If I even have 1 bite more than my stomach thinks it can handle it lets me know in a hurry. Love'n my sleeve. I average about 4-5oz any more than that I get sick.
Food has lost it's appeal for me and am very thankful.

Wow, love hearing the praises to the only one that makes it possible. Thank you God! I too have been very blessed with so much, and I too pray for all my new fellow sleevers. I had my surgery on 12/12/11, six weeks ago. I have lost 40 pounds and have about 60-70 more to go. Ive had a few problems, but thru prayers and good surgeons I'm doing great. I have to go all day with nothing, not even a sip, to have my through streached today at 2:30. I smile because I know who has my back,(GOD) peace to all.

I have no doubt that God sent me right to this website and has opened every door along the way for me to have surgery. Like many others, I do not have much if any support except for the people on this board. I am so very grateful for that.
I believe that God has given me this opportunity so that I can work in His will as He has planned for me. I have hidden behind the weight and not stepped up to get involved in near what I would like. And it is all because I am uncomfortable, ashamed and embarrassed of how I look. I know people mean well, but to hear "you have such a pretty face" is not exactly the compliment I like to hear.
With God, all things are possible. I am finally truly believing that!

Praise God and thank you.....If not for this forum I don't know what I would do. I don't have anyone that I can talk to about my journey and anyone to share my good/bad days with. I know God will be with me every step of the way and will have his hands on me and the surgeon and the team working with them.....He knows what's best...
I can't say it enough. Thank You Lord and you're right it's your blog! I pray that we all have successful surgeries and no complications post surgery.
