  1. I need to drop 2.5 lbs by morning!!!! AAACK!!!
  2. Oops. I keep forgetting to take calcium! I'm so bad.
  3. Noooooooo. I do not believe you have to wait six months unless your doctor specifically told you to. I was cleared at 6 weeks for full activity. No limitations were placed or exceptions to that. He did say, "if it hurts, don't do it." Other than that....... I've been doing some ab stuff for a couple months now.
  4. Holy cow!!! I'd have to say I got one of the best surgeons in the U.S., and he only charged me $12,300 self pay. It must be different when they're billing insurance? I don't know. That seems like a lot. The hospital I was in was nicer than a luxury hotel!! Well, at least you didn't have to pay very much of it, which is good. Congratulations on getting one step further!
  5. They're all too groggy to answer!! There are a bunch, I know that!
  6. I had one, and I could not WAIT to get it repaired. This was the perfect opportunity, otherwise I probably would not have done it. It caused me much grief while I had it.
  7. See if you can make a consultation appt with a local surgeon. I think they might be able to better allay your fears...
  8. I should add- if you decide to do this, you need some way to know that what you are doing is working. I would suggest carefully logging your food and weighing it or measuring it somehow so you KNOW that you're following the rules, that way if your weight bounces around, it won't be because of your diet. Don't take the "i'm just going to live a normal life and not be on a diet" approach. There needs to be careful limitations during the "honeymoon" period.
  9. If you can accomplish that, it would be fabulous. I do not have the self control. I have to weigh every single day or I'm just not complete. I have developed an intimate knowledge of when and how much my weight will bounce up and down, so I am not distressed about it at all. There is a pattern. HOWEVER-- if you are not one that can handle the bounce....then you've got a good plan. I've seen several on here that only weigh at the doc.
  10. OH, AREN'T THOSE ABOUT THE WORST THING YOU'VE EVER PUT IN YOUR MOUTH???!!! I still feel like yakking just thinking about those things!! BLECH!! I gave them away. I ended up with some prenatal chewables to see me through until I could swallow something like normal.
  11. The vanilla is.... good. not great but good. Still better than most Protein shakes. I love the chocolate ones though. I agree, no butt taste. After trying many many brands, I've settled with these as my go to shakes.
  12. When your weight bounces up, it is NOT fat you are gaining. It's physically impossible given what you are ingesting. It is water retention that will leave you. Promise. I weigh every day, and i can bank on a pattern of lose 1, gain 2, lose 3. Repeat ad nauseum. You get used to it. But the bottom line is......shrinking!
  13. Holy shrimp!!! That's quite the fat-a-lanche!!! Awesome!
  14. Hahaha....patience Grasshopper.... We all say the exact same thing! Give your body time to adjust. It's been through a lot.
  15. Great news!!! I'm so happy for you both!! Thanks for the update!
  16. YAAAAYYY Smoggy!!!!! Finally!!!!!!!

Since you put this all out there, I will give you my opinion. We all love giving our opinions, so here it is: I might suggest just lavishing him with attention and cooked dinners and maybe plan something fun? Or even a "date" right in your own bedroom! ;) Just make him feel special and loved and give your marriage great care right now, especially if things are getting cold and weird. Your husband should never feel like a roommate, no matter how long you've been married. Think of things to compliment him on. Make him feel needed/wanted/loved, and respected without thought of what you may get in return.
  18. After you....get things moving.....for maintenance, what I do is have a 1/4 to 1/2 cup of fiber one mixed into my low carb yogurt every morning. That kind of counteracts the high protein aspect of my diet. (But only after you're cleared to eat something that solid. It mushes up pretty good once it sits in the yogurt for a while...) I use Fiber One because it has the highest fiber with the lowest carbs and calories.
  19. I got MAD at food!! I got the point that i was too physically limited to do many many things, and I blamed myself and stupid food!! I decided I was NOT going to be imprisoned by it ANY more!! "Go to Hell, unhealthy food!! I will NOT be enslaved by you any more!! I will control YOU!!" The sleeve has helped me do JUST that! I went into this in attack mode, not in wistful, oh I'll miss you mode. Get your GRRRRR face on and get some attitude!!! (I'm really not crazy...)
  20. I see the green bubble by your picture Patrick! How are you doing???
  21. WHOA, seriously? Like.... Recently?!?
  22. You look awesome!!! GREAT JOB!!! OMIGOSH!! Snow!! It's like 102 outside, where is there snow???
  23. MEEEE TOOOO!!! I still feel 349 most days. It's really weird. My brain is just not keeping up with what's happening. But like you say...keeps you motivated for sure.
  24. Yup...i know just what you mean. I started at 349 and now down to 277. People- not many- are just now starting to say... "hmmm....you look different....did you get a new haircut?" LOL
  25. You have just shocked the poo out of your system. Give your body time to figure things out and readjust and find a new "normal." I lost ZERO the first week after surgery, then very little the second. At three weeks I hit a SIX week stall. Then I started blasting right on through all of it. Everyone IS different, so do not compare your progress so much with others. If you are following your guidelines, it WILL work. It will happen. Don't freak out on us! Drink, drink, drink. It's hot out there!
