Idk should I eat everything I love now before the surgery?
I totally did! I didn't have any pre surgery requirements until 12 hours before surgery so I ate till my hearts desire. Went up 16 pounds by the end of it all but it was totally worth it because I had no cravings or real wants for anything afterwards and now 3 weeks out tomorrow I am down 35 pounds.

one of the things i am most looking forward to is.....
Being comfortable in my clothes Not feeling like I have to eat everything on my plate Playing basketball with my hubby again without my knee begging me to stop because of the amount of pressure I'm putting on it

Blue closs blue shield
I didn't have ANY pre- whatevers...they simply approved me with a BMI of 40+, my surgical coordinator said they'd just changed that and that I was "one of the lucky ones"

Blue closs blue shield
I have BCBS of IL I was approved in 24 hours but make sure you call them because they will simply send out a letter that you may not get for 2 weeks! I just decided to call like a week later and they said it had been approved the day after it had been sent in. They're really great.

Fat lady on the inside!
I'm so there with you. It's like I've been fat for too long for me to suddenly start thinking like a skinny person (although I don't ever think I'll be skinny but you get me..right) One of the things I thought about was how would I relate to my friends. Some of them are fat (most are fit though) and we had our own little inside jokes, you know the ones fat chicks make about themselves, each other and every other fat person..it's gonna be so awkward when they start telling the fat chick jokes and I can't chime in anymore......lame, I know but it is a valid concern..

Breastfeeding mommas!?
I had my surgery marcb 28th, while still nursing my 6 month old. My doctor said if i cohld continue i should, so i have. I am 6'1, my starting weight was 356 at almost 3 weeks out and still almost nursing a nearly 7 month old exclusively, i am at 323, which is nearly 34 pounds in less than 3 weeks. I eat about 700-900 cals a day. I have yet to once reach my protein goal of 90 grams but i walk and take my vits/mins religiously as well as keep a close eye on my carbs and sugar intake. She is my third and i nursed the other two for 2 years for my first and16 months for my second. I was so concerned that i would not produce enough to satisfy her but it turns out what really does it is my water intake so im sure to get a good amount in each day. I hope you were or are able to do it

To Dump Or Not To Dump
Ive dumped twice. Im kind of glad i do because i have a sweet tooth like nobodies business. But im only 17 days post op. From what i hear, there's a 50% chNce for dumping syndrome in sleevers. I have a 10 gram rule now, anything greater is just too risky.

What does your daily diet consist of?
- Learning What Full Is.
Probably a good idea debs. I usually add boiled eggs and sardines and lots of yagi. I agree, its definitely a combination of too many things for my new tum tum.- Learning What Full Is.
Yeah i understand about the mushie meat, kinda weird.- Learning What Full Is.
Thx for the advice sexiipices77! I'll remember that- Learning What Full Is.
Mine is kanuri @livingmylife. Thats a good suggestion. Biker- Learning What Full Is.
Today i started mushies. I ate what is a very small amount of moi moi (ground black eye peas, boiled and seasoned, very yummy nigerian dish), it went down with no issues but about 3 minutes after finishing i fdlt and still feel the need to barf. I thought i might have this problem of not really knowing when im full. It was an issue before surgery as well.i think i will stick to 2 bites from now on.- 1 Week
I've just been using pure protein bottle. The vanilla cream is my favorite. I really have a tough time getting it down though cause I've just had too many of them now.- 1 Week
Im also 1 week out today and down 25 pounds with no pre op diet! Its insane! I feel pretty good I really want some meat but other than that I'm good.- Down 25 pounds in First Week!
No exercise for me yet just walking :-) And I miss working out. I was one of those people who enjoyed working out but could never really lose a significant amount of weight due to the amount that I'd eat. My NUT said I was the ideal candidate for the sleeve because of this. Anywho, I will be happy when my surgeon clears me for working out- Down 25 pounds in First Week!
Thx ladies- Down 25 pounds in First Week!
You know, I'd assumed that I'd be a big loser :-) mainly because of my size and starting weight of 6'1 356lbs. I've seen the big guys whopping numbers and said maybe i'll lose half of that (like 15 to 17) in the first week or two..never did I expect such a high number and in only 6 days post op! Do I see it? Hardly, do I feel it? No but I am soooo happy about it.- Remember Me?!?!?!
You look great! And a whopping 60!! Whoa! Congrats!- Odd Symptoms Less Than a Week Out
Thanks!! I totally forgot about ketosis despite my nutritionist going on about it for about 20 minutes in the pre op class. Will be giving the breath mints a try thx all :-)- Odd Symptoms Less Than a Week Out
So I just thought I'd share some things happening to my body less than a week out of surgery. I just want to say that I have yet to start any vits or mins until tomorrow so I'm sure that may have something to do with it... -Right eye is constantly red -Horrible breath ( which is very unusual for me. Even when I'd fast people would ask why my breath never stunk ) -craving Peanut Butter -super dry skin -insomnia Anyone have these or know what's going on. My guess is deficiency of nutrients.- Soooo much regret
Im 5 days post op and I sort of feel this way. I say sort of because its beginning to subside. I tend to adjust to situations pretty quickly and because I had already been mentally preparing myself for the idea that I'd essentially be starving myself for about a month, so I was as ready as one could be for self torture. I'd also been through 3 c-sections so I knew what the pain and recovery would be like..its actually been easier if I'm really comparing the two. I miss eating and with a husband and three children who I don't expect to eat all their meals out, cooking is like seeing an ex who broke up with you. You still want it even though he's no good for you :-) Overall though I am content with my decision. It was more than necessary and I see changes less than a week out. Being on here and youtube videos are a great way to stay motivated. I hope for you the best and all the greatest success. Happiness is only a few weeks away Im sure :-)- 51 pounds down half way to goal at 9weeks
Thx for the info, those are some pretty good habits! I hope for you the best and continued success :-)- What To Take To the Hospital?
Thx! My surgery is tomorrow morning. Its so funny you mentioned lip balm because that was like ny number one thing to bring. That and my own soap. I hate hospital soap and lotion. Its so drying (even the lotion!)- What To Take To the Hospital?
I know i've seen one of these threads before but I just can't find it soooo..what did u wish you'd been told to take to the hospital or what really came in handy. I'll be packing for my "big day" later tonight and I need to know if I should make a few more stops before starting. Thx! - Learning What Full Is.
