  1. Since I can't eat alot at dinner, I always have half of my pork chop left over. So I eat it the next morning diced up in a scrambled egg. So good! Just an idea for something different. Also, I made a pot roast in the crock pot yesterday. The kind that shreds really good. I mixed the leftovers with the mild taco seasoning and made tacos for my husband. I put some in the wonton wrappers with shredded cheese and refried beans and a little taco sauce in the muffin pans and baked 375 for 10 minutes! Who needs big taco shells! YUM!
  2. I have seen posts on here about skim milk that has extra or added protein already in it. I live in Southern California and cannot find anything like this at any store (and I have lots of stores to choose from)! Will someone please tell me where they get this and what brand it is. I would appreciate it! Thanks.
  3. You look awesome. Like a completely different person. Keep it up and we won't recognize you!
  4. You're awesome Tekara!
  5. We are all looking much better, but more important we are all feeling so much better! YAY for the sleeve!
  6. I will be praying for you at 9:00 california time. Please try to stay calm and get some much needed rest tonight. Everything will be fine. Here is a little song i sing when I am getting ready to go into the ER: Go now in peace, Never be afraid God will be with you each hour of everyday, Go now in faith Steadfast strong and true, Know he will guide you in all you do He will be with you and everything will be fine. XXOO Janet
  7. hey, I've been to the FloraBama several times! LOL!
  8. Also try a pepcid or some type of acid reducer daily. It really helps with head hunger at first, and will not hurt you. Good luck!
  9. What state are you in?
  10. I am so sorry toi hear your news, but it is fortunate that it was found now. I will keep you in my prayers. God has a plan for you that he may not reveal to you right now. You have the right to be scared, but try to stay strong and praise God that you will be having this taken care of sooner than later. Please leep us posted on the outcome of your surgery. Hugs to you.
  11. No problem. I hope you can find someplace close to you that carries them. I paid 1.99 each. Not bad, cuz they will last a long time.
  12. Here is the website for these. http://www.simplylitefoods.com/ The sugar-free one is dark chocolate and gluten free also. Only 1g net carb. Maybe you can contact them directly to see where to find them in your area. My husband is diabetic, so I basically bought it for him at first. But I love the taste too. Didn't think I would ever eat dark chocolate! I know this sounds dumb, but since I eat a tiny square every other day (1/3 of one serving) I have not been in a stall.
  13. Be careful with fruit. Too much sugar and carbs in most! Best to find some sf fruit flavoring.
  14. yes proetin drinks count as liquids.
  15. I was not able to get over there today, so I will go over in the morning so I can give you guys who asked the info off the label.
  16. I was able to eat eggs at soft foods, after mushies. Alot of people for some reason have trouble with eggs after VSG. I never had. I have one every moring for breakfast.
  17. ii was not allowed regular foods til 6 weeks but not bread, rice, or Pasta til 12 weeks because they expand and swell. It takes your sleeve 12 weeks to heal according to my doctor. Please be careful if you start eating anything at 2 weeks. I am no doctor, but I have never heard of that so soon. Good luck.
  18. I was allowed cottage cheese in the mushie stage.
  19. I can see where that may be a problem, but I have been fine so far. i have only eaten 2 small squares total in 3 days so I will watch it.
  20. I don't think they have Trader Joe's where yu are, but I will look tomorrow when I go and post the brand tomorrow.
  21. Someone posted before about some sugar free dark chocolate bars from Trader Joe's. I bought one last week and they are really good. Although I never like dark chocolate before, I do now. they are sugar free and carb free (I can't remember how many calories, I don't have the wrapper anymore). There are 4 servings per bar, but each serving has 3 little squares you can break off, so you can just eat one of those. Just something to keep around for an added treat. It will last a long time!
  22. I certainly did not mean anything rude about the post I made. I was just clearly stating in support that this is a lifestyle chage and you need to have your mindset that in order to be successful and healthy, you need to follow guidleines. The pre op diet is done to prevent complications with the surgery (an enlarged liver, etc) and also assures that the stomach does not contain food or waste. As another member stated, this is just the beginning of the journey, and two weeks is basically nothing compared to the next several months after surgery. The pre-op diet gives you a taste and a chance to start limiting your food intake. This will make it much easier for you after surgery. There will be alot of restrictions and changes you must make in order to to successful. But it is a commitment, and if you have decided to make this decision, it will be much easier for you in the long run, since it starts with pre-op. Everything I have said has been totally in support to help you realize this, as well as some of the other posts others have made. Not to upset you or call everyone else names, which I think is very uncalled for on this forum. We are all here to help each other. You may not agree with the response, but please don't think that we are here to hurt anyone's feelings. We have just been through it already and know what you are looking at in the months to come and want to share our advice.
  23. The preop diet is to shrink your liver. The length is probably based on the amount of weight you have to lose. You should not cheat on this, if you do you will find yourself attempting to cheat post op. You may encounter complications also. If you want to eat on the preop liquid diet, perhaps you are not ready to go through with this surgery at all. It is only yourself you are hurting in the long run. You have to have the mindset that you are going to have to make severe changes in your eating habits, before and after. It starts with pre op.
  24. That's great! Hope ou have a good recovery!
