My surgery is Feb 20th also....I was extremely hungry the first 3 days, but now I'm ok. I started my pre op diet a week ago, and I did cheat a little bit at first. I start liquids only on Friday, not sure how well I'm gonna do with that.

I am very sorry to hear about your situation especially since I know so many people have such an awesome family support group. I don't mean any disrespect, but ask your mother since when did women start carrying babies in their stomach as oppose to their uterus...... BAM!!!!!

Along with Mexican, Italian, sushi, and....shoot everything's my favorite, which is why I'm in the predicament I'm in. I go to New Orleans just about every year for the Essence fest, and I remember feeling so crowded and stuffed in the seats at the Superdome. I affirm that this year I will have room to spare!

Having negative thoughts constantly is a terrible thing. People on here have a bad day and then find relief. This seriously pretty girl is trippin and needs some tough love. THERE IS NO GOING BACK. So she needs to saddle up, get off this site which just allows her to be negative all the time and find some happy things to do. This place is the only place where someone who constantly has negative thoughts can have someone feel sorry for them. I am my mother's child and she would tell me to stop wallowing in my negative thoughts. NO ONE ON THIS SITE WOULD DO THAT. Support is one thing, but if my mother ever heard me say what she just said about regretting it every day because I can't eat with my friends...After I cried and cried about being fat...She would slap me. She didn't say she was in pain. She didn't say she was having a compllication. She was saying she regrets it everyday because she can't eat with her friends. Nope sorry. Not gonna let that one go. Well I am certain to be a pariah now, but I just couldn't let another day go by where this...DID YOU SEE HER...SHE IS SO PRETTY...girl wallows in her own self-pity or if it isn't pity possibly maybe needs to seek out some therapy if she could be depressed.

I made it!
Hector picked us up from the airport and it was smooth sailing! This hotel is beautiful and the broth is really good. It tastes homemade! I will be picked up at 6:45 am for surgery with Dr. Garcia. We had an absolute blast in Tijuana today!!! I'm still looking for the perfect Loius Vuitton to complete my knock-off collection...there are soo many to choose from! Tip: You have to ask for the Loius by name since they are very illegal here....all the other knock offs are displayed proudly. The store keepers bring you into the back and uncover them...and it really is a religious experience! I am feeling very safe and have enjoyed the day. We had our pictures taken with a scantilly clad mannequin dressed as a nurse holding a large Viagra sign! This is just stuff you can't plan.
Note: I was unaware of the presence of Zebras in Mexcio, however we have seen four on the streets you can have your picture taken with. Since I have limited first-hand zebra knowledge, it wasn't until we got close that we realized they were just spray painted donkeys! We laughed so hard we almost peed our pants!!! I also stopped at a street vendor who made the most fantastic Bracelet "in less than 5 min" as advertised. He used my sons name and football number. so fricken cool to see this in person. the man was a string ninja!!!
Anyway...just settling down and getting ready for the big day! I just wanted to update you all.

There is a famine in this world for men who act like men. Real men are not abusive, insensitive, self-centered, and mean. That is just being stupid jerks.
Many men have the emotional maturity of a 3 year old. A real man is strong and knows he is. He doesn't have to prove it to himself by pushing a woman or kids around. His knowledge of his own worth and power frees him to be gentle and kind. He knows he's a man so he is secure enough to cry, feel love, give love, and cherish his wife and kids. He doesn't have to have phony machismo. A man isn't a man because he is an ignorant barbarian.
I have been married for over 40 years to the same sweety. We've had our hard times especially during my "mid-life crisis". But our deep love for each other and our faith in God pulled us back together. She was so loving to me during my cancer treatment and has proven herself to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
Picking on a woman because she is overweight just shows what a dredfully shallow, insecure, weak man you are. I pray that your husbands will get a good look at themselves and join the ranks of real men.
My sweety is 4 weeks out of RouxNY and is beeming because of her new body. I am crying as I write this because I a SO happy for her! I get the sleeve surgery on the 16th. We are going to live out the remainder of our days just as we started together; two very much in love, slender, healthy people walking on the beach and thanking God for the gift of our marraige.

It is absolutely unacceptable for a man to speak to his wife in such a way. About ANYthing. You are his queen and you should be treated as such. He is to live with you in an understanding way. I would cry for a week if my husband even HINTED at the fact that I have an adverse effect on gravity! (of course we're not stupid, we know I'm huge, he's just respectful about my feelings.) Your husband shouldn't be dishing out anything but kindness and love to you! I'll say it....He needs Jesus! I do pray things get better for you and he has a change of heart.

Yes, my doc was supportive about the sleeve, too, but freaked out about the Mexico part. However, I have lost all my weight and more with no complications or issues and she is pleased that all my labs look great. Yours will probably react the same.

I am glad to read about supportive PCP's!! I go next Thursday to let my doctor know that I was sleeved on Dec 16th. I am not sure I want (or need?) to tell him that the procedure was done in Mexico. Regardless of how he is going to feel about my choice... there is no lecture in the world that can change what is already done. . . Or at least that is what I am telling myself prior to this dreaded appointment!
I have asked about WLS in the past and he was always saying no. He would harp on me that my BMI was not high enough.... (I am 5'4" and weighed in at 200 lbs. ... how high is "enough?) I would leave his office with a "Heart Healthy" diet plan and cry myself to the nearest gallon of ice cream. I TRIED every diet on the planet! I needed a doc to realize that some of this was simply the "fat gene" that I lovingly inherited from my family.... Now it's done.
I hope my PCP is as forgiving & understanding as those mentioned above!!

That's awesome!!! My PCP came to visit me in the hospital and was excited for me.. So was my GYN... I saw her when I was checking in for surgery.. she was squealing and hugging me!! I just thinks she wants me to get pregnant!!!

Ingredients:
1 pack of mushrooms, stemmed and washed
1/2 cup of soft cream cheese
1 can of drained crab meat
1 can of drained shrimp
1/2 cup of chopped green onion
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
1/2 cup of parm cheese
Mix together cream cheese, shrimp, crab, green onion, and parm cheese. Blend in a processor. Fill mushrooms with the filling top with extra parm cheese and bread crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Awesome high Protein appetizer.

I am actually scheduled for Dr. Kelly on February 22 and am using my FSA credit card to pay for my entire surgery. Luckily, my company allows you to take out the max ($7500) for FSA so I am taking advantage of this since it is the last year for this amount!
I have checked with Linda @ ALighterMe and she tells me that she is very familiar with the process and paperwork. All I can say is get all your bills/documentation to submit to FSA for your claim. They will want to see the charges for the doctor and the hospital and anything else you use your funds for. I am looking up forms "just in case" to cover my rear!
Good luck with your surgery! I have spoken with Dr. Kelly several times and cant wait to meet him in person! We are definitely in good hands with him and the new hospital/hotel look super nice too!

I could not before but now I have
Jumped in feet first and took a rowing (skulling) class. I wasn't the fattest person or worried about tipping the boat.
Also took a hooping class and loved it
I take baths all the time because my WHOLE body goes underwater and doesn't touch the sides at all
I shave everything a lot more, it's easier to reach and isn't a hassle
I cross my legs all the time, it's just comfortable, and they fold over eachother perfectly
I am not nervous about meeting new people, I go out a lot, talk to strangers.
I don't feel the need to be so confrontational or loud.
I meet people's eyes and smile a lot
I love shopping
I buy clothes online because everything looks good on me where as nothing used to
I don't mind being in pictures anymore
I will never wear a swimsuit without issue. My skin hasn't bounced back and it probably never will. I will need surgery for that. That was one of my dreams but it's okay. If I do have surgery i'll have breast aug and Tummy Tuck so my thighs and arms will still be a mess. Oh well
