I agree. I dig isopure quite a bit. My surgeon pimps out "Bariatric Fusion" vitamins and protein drink...i'd rather get products I can get from GNC.- Intro & A Couple Of Questions
my insurance said sleep apnea was a co-morbidity. Basically anything that can be caused by being overweight. My insurance didn't think my herniated disc was a co-morbidity..though I bet if i weighed 100lbs lighter it wouldnt affect me the same, nor do I think I'd necessarily have it.- What Are Your Reasons For Getting The Band?
1. I'm 36 years old. 5'10", 265 lbs. Have severe sleep apnea. 2. I was only 5-10 pounds overweight through age 18 and then 10-15 pounds overweight throughout college. I really packed on the pounds after college and was a bachelor 3. I am not married and have a 2 year old son that I need to be around forever. If I don't lose the 100-110 lbs I'm gonna live a low quality life. Since he is two. I have a good 2-4 years to lose the 110 lbs and then he'll be at an age where I can ride roller coasters with him, sit comfortably in an airplane with him, and share other experiences with him that would be near impossible (or at least difficult) being 100-110 lbs over weight.- (Introduction) First Step Tomorrow...

Good Luck Clay. I don't have the same insurance as you but I was just recently approved and hope to be banded here in June. I had to visit my Primary care doctor once a month for six months for weight visits and to go over my diet and then I visited a surgeon and took a psych test and went to a nutrition class. I also have severe sleep apnea. I'm 36, and weight 265. I'm hoping to lose 100-110 pounds. Good luck on your journey! Keep us up to date!- Inches Lost
Sounds like my journey will be like yours. I'm wearing 40" waisted pants. I weight 265 and i hope to get down to around 155-165. I can't wait until I'm a waist 32. Thanks for being an inspiration!- Scheduled 6/12/12
I don't have my date yet, but it will be in June....congrats to all!- New!

Great weight loss! So you lost 41lbs from 1/25/2012 through today? Was any of that loss during a preband diet?- Are Skinny People Treated Better?
My wife got banded last fall and has lost about 45 pounds since then. But to share one of her experiences. She took a plane to go out of town for work and on that plane a guy who sat next to her complained to the flight attendant because he didnt want to "sit next to a fat person". Sadder is that the guy was fairly overweight himself..so much he couldnt connect his belt because of his gut. He also complained that he had to sit next to someone who was overweight to complete strangers as well. I told her if I had been on the plane I would have decked him.
