  3. Hope you were able to stay away!! I know its tempting but its important to follow the rules....if you cheat and something goes wrong.....it will be hard to forgive youself. Stick to the rules.
  4. You are probably in ketosis. When you deprive your body of carbs the body will switch and start turning fat into fuel the body can use for energy. This will sometimes cause a taste in your mouth. Fowl breath too. Enjoy the ride...you will start to drop weight very quickly. I would weight myself in the morning and go back at lunch and would have lost weight...I averaged a pound every day for the 2 week pre-op. It was worderful!!! But if you eat too many carbs...its over. Keeep the carb low and it will last all the way until your surgery. Then post-op is different, because you will need to drink things that will have carbs in it.....then the body will switch the ketosis off. I will put myself in ketosis every now again to boost my weight loss. Works like a charm.
  5. Thats a hard one. That seems like an ackward place to have put your port. I have been doing a whole regiment of ab workouts lately...I'm loosing weight nicely, but it seems to be coming off everywhere but my abdomen. There are a few exercises I'm doing that might work for you. 1. step ups find a step in the house and simply put your hands on your hips and step up and down. Hold in your tummy muscles as you do them 2.leg lifts lie on your side on the floor an lift your leg up and down but don't lower it all the way down. stop about 3 inches before touching the other leg. 3.double leg lift lie on backplace your hands under the small of your back; then lift both legs together straight uptoward the tv. lower both legs but don't let them touch the floor. hold for 5 count and lift them back up. All the other one seem to involve some form of twisting or bending at the waist. Hope this helps some.
  6. That is so awesome!! I know you must have worked hard to have numbers like that!! keep up the good work!!
  7. Now for the real though Love..... This is about you and only you. You have got to get your head in the game. I hate that your family is treating you this way!!! Its awfull...BUT there will ALWAYS be SOMEONE or SOMETHING blocking your road to success!! You just need to kick them out of the way!! If you kick hard enough they move!!! You are only 2 weeks postop!!! Why in the world are you self sabotaging yourself!!! I call it that because it wasn't a small infraction in a weak moment....but you spent 5 HOURS working to get down a sonic sandwich!!! Thats self sabotage---not just hunger!! So why are you self sabotaging? If your family insists on eating stuff you can't have in front you ....so be it. They didn't make this decision...YOU DID!! Now Stand by it!! My family was considerate of my feelings....too appoint. But they would still eat the good stuff without me. In fact it was all homemade because I prepared meals ahead of time for them. But I would have to be in the other room whole they ate. The first few weeks are hard..I was still on liquids after 2 weeks. I was starving too.I understand being hungry but you don't need to be eating sonic sandwiches.......at least find something that won't cause premanent damage!! Try some puree's or some thin mushies..... I know it sounds like I'm fussing, I don't mean too. I just know that you probably want this as much as I did and I would hate for anyone to mess something up before they even get a chance to use it. Hold your head high!! You have been given a chance that has the possibility of changing your life!!---IF you do your part!!! So forget about yesterday there is nothing you can do about that....start right now!! Recommitt yourself to this journey!!! To follow the rules!!!plug into this site for your encouragement.....find someone on here that is willing to encourage you when you need it and hold you accountable when neccesary!! You can do this!!! You are not a failure unless you say you are!!! Inbox me if you ever need to talk.
  8. He is amazing!! We have been together since we were 14 (thats 26 years ago)....so we BOTH have changed along lifes road....he lost his hair and I found 70 pounds!! But he has always told me I am beautiful...I tell him he is blind!! He has supported me through this whole process....he doesn't undertand the whole thing but he justs wants me happy and healthy.
  9. Did you really just have surgery May2?!! That is awesome!! You must have been working hard before your surgery!!Keep up the great work!!
  10. It does seem a little unreal...............clothes that fit one week, won't make it through the laundry the next week. I laughed and told my husband for the last 8 years everything I put in the dryer shrinks--------now I tell him its like the dryer is stretching everything out for me.
  11. With 140 pounds down between the two you.............thats a person!! You have lost a person from your family. Way to go!! I'm sure it has been nice to have someone on the same journey as you are at the same time!! Great job to both of you!!
  12. 6 for me...including one in the belly button.
  13. 197 for me................grossly under estimated the weight gain from the cruise (5pounds) but I was able to get that off and still come out with a 3pound loss (I think thats correct).----so not too bad. I go you my 2nd fill on thursday.
  14. A friend of my daughter that I haven't seen since the surgery was over last night. When I walked in the room to greet her, the very first words were "WoW....you look nice"!! She was actually shocked and kept asking what I had been doing.(to loose the weight) It did make me feek good.....my family sees me everyday, so they don't tend to see the diffrence as easily.
  15. I have found that there is no Protein power that I REALLY like. So I have taken to covering up the flavor with other stuff. coffee works wonderfull!! my favorite is : 1oz sf caramel syrup 1oz sf vanilla syrup 3oz almond milk 3 oz favorite coffee (mine is keurig butter toffee) 1 scoop vanilla protein Blenderize with lots of ice. comes out to about: 130 cal/5carbs/16 protein
  16. I eat a half maybe once a week in a smoothie. I put it in the freezer and blenderize it with a orange yogurt/ 1oz sf pineapple syrup/.5 oz sf cocnut syrup/ 3 oz almond milk/ 1 scoop vanilla protein/ a little ice Yummy
  17. Same here...you should be good to go. If your diet of mushies brings any attention, just tell them you don't travel well and its best for you to keep your foods simple. Plus you will have seen your doctor at least once if not twice by then, so make sure to address any concerns then.
  18. I would suggest maybe using myfitnesspal to track your foods. See where you are at. Maybe you are having more than you realize. And make sure to measure all your food. You can also make the diary public to your friends and they can help advise you where you can make some changes. You can also see other peoples food diaries and get some ideas of thing that you might want to add to your diet. Have you tried the low carb/high Protein approach? Sometimes that works for people (like me) when other stuff doesn't.
  19. You are welcome to add me.same username:waitingpatiently...My food journal is open and I'm on everyday. I tried to start a thread earlier this week but I think I started it to early in the morning and it went unseen by most. It would be nice to here some of everyones secret finds that they have found....you know a certain food that is generally heathy and has become a part of your regular diet. Here ae a few of mine. Oscar Meyer Turkey weiners 98% fat free I was very skeptical--I hate chichen in hot dogs---these are nothing like that. calories=40 fat=.5 carbs =3 fiber=0 protein=5 Johnsonville Smoked Turkey and Chedder Sausage calories=120 fat=6 carbs=4 fiber=0 protein=10 Ole Extreme Wellness high fiber/low carb Torillas calories=71 fat=2 carbs=17 (5 net) Fiber=12 protein=8 Daily Chef Mesquite Grilled Chicken calories=110 (for 3 oz) fat=2.5 carbs=2 fiber=0 protein=20 Carbmaster Yogurt calories=60 fat=1.5 carbs=4 fiber=0 protein=8 Sugar Free Syrups
  20. I sure do!! This is really the only time that I am weak!! I can undo everything I have worked so hard for the whole month in just those few days. what I usually do is hold myself to my 900cal/40carbs/70 Protein all month long and then a few days before I know it will be an issue, I make a few homemade things that I can eat instead of grabbing the pre bought stuff. homemade chips, pepporoni chips and I will make a cookie out of almond flour. I will even grab a single serving bag of pork rinds. I make sure Snacks like nuts are available and already measured out. I will make sure I have fresh fruit in the house for my sweet tooth. I tend to crave carbs during this time, so I allow myself some of the healthy carbs I usually don't get to have . like a whole wheat pancake, or a bowl of oatmeal or even an english muffin. Then after 2 or 3 days.......I clear it all out....Anything not on my regular diet goes. Usually by having acceptable choices on hand, I find that I can minimize the damage done.
  21. Welcome shondra!! This site is a goldmine for information. There are a lot of great people on here happy to guide you on your way!. Feel free to ask questions to thr group at anytime. Plug in and if you are looking for any certain topic, just type it in the search bar at the top....there is usually tons of threads discussing everything.
  22. I think you definately need to get checked out. I know that must have been scary. As for the feeling in your throat. I have had one since I got my first fill. Best way to describe it is a lump in the back of my throat. Its there all of the time especially when its been a while since I ate. There isn't any pain associated with it but it is annoying sometimes.---I know I don't need a unfill; I only have 2cc. Anyway, if that is similar to what you are feeling, I just wanted to reassure you that its probably nothing to worry yourself about, but it is always best to get it checked out.
  23. The cruise was great!!! I did gain about 4 pounds but it was more about the choices that were available than quantity..like real pork bacon, where I would usually have turkey....or real scammbled eggs instead of just egg whites. Or since we were off the ship the whole day for excursions, we were at the mercy of what ever they had arranged for lunch....which was usually high fat/high carb.----so those things over the course of the week added up. When we ate in the restruarant at night it was much easier. I had more control to pick better foods and the portion sizes were perfect. I did endulge in a couple of Desserts (hadn't had that in months). But most nights I was full and had no problem passing.By my calculations, I was still under 1400 calories a day. (but I do start to gain at around 1200 calories)--but I thought with all the extra walking I would have been good.I would have actually thought I would have maintained weight while gone....so I was surprised to see a gain when I got back. But I kicked it up a knotch for the week after and was able to be back to pre-cruise weight in 10 days. If I did it again. I think I would replace Breakfast with a Protein shake instead......I think that was where the couple of extra pounds came from.
