  1. Bionic Broad: Yes they will for a fee. I inquired and was told yes. I'm thinking that it would be cheaper than out side place. If you find out, will you let me know, I want to do something with my raisin of a tummy .....LOL I'm only 4 months out.
  2. Kaiser's option class told us absolutely no gum because if we swallow it, it could block a passage in our pouch. Now Kaiser tended to slant everything towards the RnY procedure. So maybe it doesn't count for us sleevers? I'll email the NUT and ask her directly.
  3. Kaiser would gladly give you a tummy tuck for a fee......LOL
  4. I just posted Pumpkin Banana Bread High protein that great.
  5. Great Recipe Attached! Pumpkin Banana Bread.doc
  6. That is totally interesting~ Thanks for sharing.
  7. My surgeon's office told me between 800 to 1000 calories at 3 months post op. I seldom ever get to 1000 calories.
  8. Even if the minestrone has pasta, you can take it out. I order meatball sandwhiches and leave off the bread and it looks absolutely beautiful when served.
  9. I am a kaiser patient with the sleeve. Here is my suggestion, call up Kaiser and tell them you are in so much pain that you need to see your primary ASAP. If they say there are no open appointments, have the receptionist call your PCP's office and have them fit you in. There are ways to get around everything, just be the sqeaky wheel and you will get what you need. If you have to do the Options program, it is now 12 sessions instead of 6 months. Best of luck, let me know what happens.
  10. Try mixing water with gatorade or low calorie gatorade. It helped me alot right after surgery.
  11. Some people do have dumping with the sleeve. Especially with ice cream. It could be lactose intolerance or toooooo much fat.
  12. Well said. My hubby can eat a ton of food. However, I noticed the other night at a restaurant, he ate some salad, Soup, and a little prime rib, ate his veggies and a bit of baked potato. That to me is a ton of food, but a lot less than he has eaten before. I'm so proud of him. Thank you for sharing with us.
  13. Is it that men are out numbered or is it that they are less likely to share? This is an interesting topic. When it comes to reporting depression, women are more likely to seek help than men, or maybe those are the days in the past. It's a really good dilemma. I really like hearing from men their experiences.
  14. I am 4 months out and I still get most of my protein form shakes. You might be in Ketosis which is where food has a funky taste. Pdxman posted something about this a while back. You are doing fine right now so keep up the good work and keep ROCKIN that SLEEVE!
  15. LovePink: It would be a great ideal to take all the junk food and stuff out of your house and put it in the trash! You don't need that stuff. When you talk with your surgeon, ask them for a PPI (prilosec, nexium, tums etc) and also take some light yogurt, jello SF, or some soup broths. If you eat at work, get some broth when you have an urge to have something you shouldn't have. Drink some low calorie gatorade to crunch the sweet tooth. You are going to get this under control, and today is the day. You made some mistakes that can definately cause a leak. As you know, you sleeve hasn't healed yet and your stapleline is at risk. Take care and write about it and let us know how your doing. There's no such thing as a failure!
  16. Great job finding an exercise you like! I'm thinking about buying a bike also. CONGRATS!
  17. I also go to the youtube.com and get high protein recipes. I tried the pumpkin banana bread High protein and it is totally delicious!. Love it. Will post recipe later.
  18. when i over due it, i do have some stabbing pain. it's decreasing as time goes on though.
  19. I know that I'm always looking at my next meal. So lately, I'm taking in alot of fluids as soon as I wake up before I have breakfast. This helps me somewhat. I know when I haven't had a meal and I'm late and I'm feeling famished, I tend to over indulge. I get irritable and think I can eat a lot, then my restriction kicks in. I get somewhat sad and I know that my head hunger has hit home again..... Need to stop this, it's driving me crazy.
  20. Humm, when wanting pancakes, we can get some high protein recipes that utilize protein powder as a major ingredient and have them.
  21. I have head hunger and I struggle with not thinking about my next meal. Oww, what am I going to have? When I get it, I just want to eat alot, but I can't. Thank God. I am going to start drinking alot of liquids before I get out of bed. Do any of you have any ideals on making food less attractive to me? I really need some help here. Thank you guys, you are my new family. <3
  22. No problem. we all have bad days. I think I'm having a lot of head hunger. I just had to have a pastrami. I know I can't eat hardly any of it. But in my head I fantasized that it was so delicious. Actually it wasn't as good as I remembered it, but then I was determined to eat a whole half. Then it hit me, my sleeve was telling me no and I actually gave it up. This has really scared me. I ate 25% of the pastrami. Damn, I don't want to do that, it's so stupid. Oops, sorry for hijacking your vent. You will start loosing soon, you are probably loosing in inches. Your pureed food stage will be over before you know it!
  23. that having this problem with your BP. This must be really scarey not knowing.
  24. You are gaining weight in muscle which will help you burn fat faster. It's all good!
  25. Everyone is right here. Let's focus on how we're feeling on not on the scale. It is torture to not see the scale move. However, are you loosing body inches? That is more important to me. I love going down in clothes sizes.
