The Psychological Battle - 2 Weeks Post Op
Even though we have this wonderful tool there are times where I forget and try to eat like before. But I can't, thanks to my sleeve. I do really good if I use my dessert size plates, but if I use a salad plate, I put too much on there and then I try to eat it when on automatic pilot. LOL. I'm still working on throwing food out when I'm food. I hate my old core habit of eating everything on my plate. If I'm really really hungry, I put too much on my plate. So at 10 months out, I'm still learning not to do that.

Dumping And Sliming... Ugh
I could understand getting dumping syndrome from eating too fast or too much, but the other day I was out and about and had an egg and sausage with a friend at a restaurant. Within 20 minutes I had a dumping episode. I haven't had one of those since before my surgery 10 months ago. I have been eating eggs and sausage for months now with no episodes. Blahhhhhhhhh! I hate dumping.

Calling All Veterans
There was a posting on here about chia seeds. That when you eat them, they swell up and make you feel full all day. I didn't try them bc I believe with the little we eat already, my body will let go of the weight with time.

Hungry 2Hrs After I Eat....
You might try taking something for acid. I take omeprazole and the helps with not feeling hungry. I also increase my water intake too. Sometimes I confuse thrist for hunger. Just food for thought.

The Easy Way.....
Hi Nicky I like your post and didn't take offense at it. I think your doing a great job for with your weight loss. Everyone here is struggling with their food issues and addictions to food. I am 10 months post op and struggle with sugar addiction. I am also diabetic with blood sugars under control at this moment but know I can't do moderation. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope you don't mind, but I added you as a friend. XOXO!

How Much Did Your Taste Buds Change After Vsg?
My tastes stayed the same after surgery. The only thing that happens is when my body goes into ketosis, I get a metal taste in my mouth and my thinking gets clouded. No biggie.

What Were You Doing On This Day 11 Years Ago?
I was standing in my front room seeing the news coverage play over and over the plane flying into the building. That alone causes PTSD in anyone who repeatedly viewed. So sad. I also remember getting a new client that day that was Iranian and no one wanted him because they were scared. I took him and he was the most awesome client I could have had.

What Is Going On?!
It shouldn't get stuck, I took it with water and had no difficulties. So thankful. It's the bigger capsules or tablets that I avoided.

Did/does Anyone Else Feel This Way?
Wow, you must be exhausted from waking up. Don't let your thoughts get going. Tell them to be quiet and think positive thoughts like: I'm going to be one hot skinny B**** and eat healthier and have a longer life to play with kids, pets, and grand children. Those thought are your fears coming up and are trying to sabotage you. Don't let them begin. I know it's not easy, but you can catch them in the beginning and change them. You got this girl!

3.5 Months Out - Bleeding
I would go in a see you doc. There might be a bleed from your surgery that needs to be addressed. Better safe than sorry.

The Easy Way.....
I know that I need to follow my surgeon's and NUT recommendations and i do. When I have tried ice cream, cheetos, and chocolates, I can't stop with just a few, I want it everyday. Every time I see a flamin hot cheeto, I eat it, even tough I know it will bother my stomach. That's my addiction and therefore, I have to keep them out of my house and sight. I can't do moderation, if it's a slider, I know it and will endulge. So I just want to eat to live and that's it. I focus on organic because what ever is going in my body, needs to be clean, after all, I can only eat less than a child's portion. Yes, this is my choice. Plus, my grocery bills are decreasing every day bc I have my family eating this way too.

What Is Going On?!
This is totally normal. I have had no issues with any thing I've eaten. I did get hungry for awhile and then started taking a PPI (omeprazole, pepcid, prilosec, etc) and that took care of acid which had mimicked hunger. Keep up the good work and you are very normal.
