  5. I can relate after 2 slips along with unfills. Fighting to lose after each gain. I started at 289 lbs then lost to my all time low 198lbs. Now sitting filled at 241lbs. It sucks!! The weight battle isn't easy. With all this shorten and said I'm trying. In the meantime my husband had the band removed for medical reasons and started at 408lbs got down to 210lbs. Now is at 290lbs. I can't let us fail. We worked way to hard. We have a vacation coming up in March. I'm going to try my absolute best to use the vacation as motivation to get us on track.

    Advice that makes you crazy.

That's ok after a slip I did gain a few pounds back. A close family friend had the nerve to say to her new partner "see I told ya that weight lost surgery crap don't work look at her she is back fat again".

Weigh, measure, track, commit: a Christmas plan

I too am trying to start fresh after a couple slips. My fitness pal, protein intake and measuring.
  8. I had my band surgery in May 2010. I started at 289 till dropped down to 198 after 2 slips and set backs. The last slip was May 2015 since then I've gained back 30lbs. I am now at 243. I am so off track and discouraged it's crazy. Work, having teenagers and premenopausal (only 38 yrs old but mom had the same issue) symptoms is a extra challenge. I recently joined a larger gym. I've not done hot yoga which I love for a year now. Any encouragement or following is greatly appreciated. Looking at pictures is awful. I am getting back to that ugly fat person I don't love as much and that is bringing me down. Signed failed band Patient

    Constipation

I also had these same issues before and after the band which is 3 years later. Try meds like you mentioned very little success. I've now been trying to push the water and limit food in take. I also take me time every morning reading like now and sip a hot cup of coffee and by the grace of God it seems to be a daily success for approx 3 weeks. I think stress really us the cause at times for me. I will try your apple idea. Thxs

    My 600lb life

Well let me start by saying congratulations to those that have succeeded! Let me also take you down a road from Sept 2010 till now. My mother in law who is no longer with us as of Sept 2010 at the age of 59 yrs. She died at around 450lbs. Her average weight was 530lbs or so with a height of 5 foot. One leg was huge and the other not. She didn't leave her house other then by ambulance for over 3 years. She barely could walk to the bathroom. My husband and I would beg her to exercise and walk with our assistance and the depression and anger kept her from trying. It was very very hard watching this whole process since we meet in high school and his mother I felt like was near the same as my mother in some ways. We had already started the lap band and nutritionist process for ourselves before she passed. My husband started at 409lbs and now is at 215lbs banded April 2011. I started at 289lbs and now at 229lbs banded May 2011 after being at 195lbs last Aug 2013 following a band slip gaining fast. It is totally a mind game when a slip happens it's very hard to get back on track. But with all this said it makes me think of how hard it is for those who don't have the fight in them to get past the struggle. RIP Bonnie we love you!
