  1. I would just stay away from it. Even diet soda is so bad for you that you really don't want to get back into the habit of drinking it again.
  2. You look great, keep it up!
  3. I stayed 2 nights & was released 1st thing in the morning after the 2nd night.
  4. I'm a stomach sleeper & it took about 3 weeks before I could sleep comfortably in a bed.
  5. Spicy hasn't bothered me at all but anythimg greasy makes me very nauseous. It was so bad that I don't even bother with anything greasy anymore.
  6. This is exactly how I feel & I'm totally ok with it as going out to eat all the time was a major contributor toward how I got itno this situation to begin with.
  7. I've only been sleeved since last summer & I'm not even close to being able to eat a whole meal (maybe 5-6oz in a setting tops) Honestly I don't think I ever want to, 7 months in & its a fight to lose 2 lbs a week, there is no way I want to be able to eat more & make losing even harder.
  8. The first few times I went out I felt like I needed to eat faster because of the people I was with & ended up throwing up in thwe restaurant bathroom. I've also had experiences like yours where I picked at my food & took forever to eat a little bit. I'm basically to the point where I no longer go out to eat because the expereinces are just terrible anymnore.
  9. My doctor told me that drinking while eating really isn't a big deal once you are past the healing stage of the first few weeks & back on solid foods. My guilty pleasure pleasure is a large double/double french vanilla iced coffee from Tim Hortons every AM (but it takes my most of the morning to get ot down). I've tried pizza (something I loved pre sleeve) & absolutely hate it now.
  10. I was 6 months on 2/23. Totally agree with Lissa regarding energy, can't believe how much more I have compared to pre surgery. My weight loss has been good (but I also lost about 1/3rd of my total pre surgery). I'm at a point where the weight loss has slowed a bit but I still see huge changes in waist, hips & chest measurements. I've went from a size 50 to 40 in Jeans (and could probably fit in a 38 right now) and from 5-6XL in shirts to 2-3XL.
  11. I'm 6 months post surgery & have no sagging in my arms or legs, very little in my stomach. That being said I have been hitting the gym hard for over 2 years with a routine that alternates between high rep fat burn & heavy weight muscle build.
  12. You look fantastic, keep it up!
  13. This is about the same as me, 5 months out & still eating about the same as month 2. I guess the main difference now is that i am use to eating the smaller portions so it doesn't seem so small anymore. I can't even imagine eating fast food, not just because I know how bad it is for me but since being sleeved anything with a lot of grease is a complete turn off because its just tastes horrible anymore.
  14. My surgery was on August 23, 2011 & I am conquering my hesittation to be more active/participate in sports because of my weight & limitations that came with it.
  15. I take one of those 3 oz 42 g New Whey shots every day when I get out of the gym.
  16. I can't eat 2 eggs & I'm 3+ months out. I usually have 1 hard boiled egg white for breakfast & its all i can do to get that down.
  17. I used several pillows to prop me up in a semi reclined position on the bed. I also slept on my back for the first few weeks (have always slept on my side). It was rough but after 2.5-3 weeks I could sleep on my right side & after another week or so I could sleep on the left.
  18. Don't worry its not going to fall out, you're gonna be amazed at how long it is when they pull it out. I showered every day after day 3 & never had an issue, just be real gentle around the drain/hole. Just be prepared it feels really weird/uncomfortable when they pull it out, doesn't really hurt but its really weird.
  19. The drain was the absolute worst, not that it hurt bad but every time I moved I would feel a tug & it was impossible to get comfortable with it in. Nothing else really bothered me after the first few days but the drain drove me crazy until it came out. On the bright side, once the drain comes out it should be smooth sailing & the hole heals really fast.
  20. I'm about 8 weeks out & would agree with the portion sizes that nurselisa listed. If you eat too much and/or too fast you'll know it because it hurts in a very uncomfortable sort of way. Take your time & eat slow & you will be able to tell when you are getting full much easier, when you eat fast it just hits you all of the sudden & its not a very nice place to be in.
  21. Congrats, you look fantastic. Thank you for the month by month breakdown, you & I seem to have started around the same weight & are looking to end up in the same area, very similar plans (lose some weight but also start building some serious muscle). I was just sleeved on 8/23 & am in that 1st 2 month stage where a lot of things can get you down, reading how that has improved for you (and seeing your results) was a huge inspiration, thank you!
  22. Was sleeved 8/23. At first I didn't do anything but walking & a few different stretches. At the end of 3 weeks my doctor told me I could go back to the gym & do whatever I felt like I could handle on the bike or elliptical but he told me to take it easy on the weights - if I couldn't do 30 reps then the weight was too high. The next week I went up in weight & down to 20 reps & now I am back to my regular routine (3 days lifting to build muscle & 2 days to burn fat + 9-12 mile/day on a bike). Crunches were a little hard at first but didn't have any issues with anything else.
  23. If you had your surgery on 9/2 you're only about 5.5 weeks out, right? So you have only lost a total of 6 lbs since your surgery? If thats the case something is definitely not right, you should have lost more than that before you even left the hospital. What diet have you been on, are you walking/exercising? Are you getting enough Protein & calories (if not your body will go into starvation mode & it will be nearly impossible to lose weight)?
  24. They're not bad, they actually taste sugary but there is no sugar in them. IMO they are much easier to get down than the milk based shakes & you only need to take a 3.9 oz shot instead of a whole shake. They come in a few different flavors - grape, orange, fruit punch & berry (I prefer the fruit punch but haven't tried the berry flavor yet). I get them at GNC ---- New whey liquid Protein I get a box of 12 every 2 weeks add in a few bars here & there & it seems to be working pretty well so far. GNC also has a Gold Card that will save you a good bit of money if you decide to go with this. I think the card was like $15 for 1 year but it saves you $5-6 every time you buy 12 of these shots.
  25. I'm 7 weeks out & take a 3.9oz 42g New Whey protein shot everyday after I leave the gym. I stopped the shakes after surgery because anything milk based makes me nauseous now. I also eat a 20g or so protein bar every now & then.
