  1. Here it is a new year and I wake up feeling cruddy. I've taken some cold meds and will be headed back to bed here soon to get a little more sleep. Jenn, I'm sending all my healthy purple power to you. Keeping you in my prayers. Janie and Kat, I'm also keeping both of you in my prayers, that things turn around healthwise for both of you. TrackyKS, did you ever get a pic with you wearing the new shirt and necklace? I can't wait to see. Laura, Cool car for little boy to have. LOL. Terry, I'm scared but ready to start tomorrow morning. I got the stuff to make the soups with. Everyone have a great day and enjoy the parades.
  2. :tt1:  :cheers2: Happy:martini_shaken: New Year:beer_yum: to all :beer_yum:My :martini_shaken:Girls. :cheers2:
  3. Scary news for us today. A couple of days ago the dryeer quit working. We tried to see if we could figure out what it was but no luck, so I called a sevice guy to come out. He came today and took it apart and said we were the luckiest people. There was 5 years of lint built up in the motor and the thermostat detected it and shut it's self down. Saved us from having our house burnt down. A couple of days ago a house in KS burned down and it was for the same reason. The service guy told us 73,000 houses burn down a year for this exact reason. Man, someone was watching over us. As much as I would like to have my house remodeled, that's not the way to do it. Besides the fact I could have lost my family or my kitties. Yikes. That I don't need. 161.97 dollars later and we are back in good business. I have the cleanest dryer and vent you have ever seen. He cleaned the dryer, Hubby and I cleaned the vent. Cripe, dust and lint blowing out the vent into the backyard. I've only consumed about 600 calories so far. I would like to tell you that those were healthy calories but I don't want to ruin your day. Sis and I went to Wal-Mart today and I bought an IPod. I haven't opened it yet because I'm having trouble with the website I use to download my music with. If I can't get it straightend out or find another free download site I will take it back. At least my MP3 has am-fm radio on it. It only holds about 80 songs though. The Ipod holds 2000 and videos.
  4. Judy, Have a very safe trip, we will miss you alot. And have a very Happy New Year.
  5. Ok, more from the same website. Too cute. Move to the Groove, Put Your Pedal to the Metal, Run for Fun and Shake that Booty: Exercise is one of the best weapons a WLS patient has to fight weight regain. Not only does exercise boost your spirits, it is a great way to keep your metabolism running strong. When you exercise, you build muscle. The more muscle you have, the more calories your body will burn, even at rest!
  6. I was surfing another WL website and was reading some of the postings there. This one group decided to do a "Winter Awareness Challenge" and I found this in a posting, thought it was pretty interesting and maybe helpful. *Daily organized exercise, 6 days a week *72 ounces water intake every day *Vitamins - every day *Personal quiet time for journaling - every day *Devotion to private sacred spiritual development - every day *(PPT) Puppy Play Time - dedicated, focused play time with puppy Charvie *Smart food choices respecting the four rules and my nutritional needs Rewards Expected: *Healthy fit body *Mental and Spiritual health *Elevated endorphins from the pursuit of pleasureful activities *Self-appreciate vs. self-loathing for making the right choices *A new swimsuit!
  7. Welcome back Laura, You and the baby were missed.
  8. Days 1 & 2: Liquid Protein low-carb protein shakes, broth, clear or cream soups, sugar-free gelatin and pudding. I did look up the cream soup recipes. Think I'll try a few of them. However it does say broth and jello, so I get some of that also for the first 2 days. Than I'll work on the other recipes for the other days.
  9. Ok, I'm in also. But I'm with Judy, can't start till the 2nd. Looks like I'll have to run to the store tomorrow and stock up on broths and jello. Might as well pick up some tuna and maybe some shrimp. I'm getting scared about starting this but I need the KITA. Thanks for starting it Terry.
  10. Good Morning. Last night I was filling in my little calendar book and went to write down my fill date for Jan. 5th. and panicked. It dawned on me that it's only 6 days away. Yikes. I need to be on my very best behavior till Monday. It's going to be rough. I did finally get an appointment to see the Psychatrist. January 14th. I'm really hoping he will be able to help me get over this slump I'm in. Still can't figure out why I sabotage myself. Why did I go thru surgery and a huge weight loss to only find myself not really wanting to do this anymore. And I still have a long ways to go. At least another 75-100 lbs. Wish me luck. Didn't Laura go to Tenn. for the holidays? Jenn, hoping this guy turns out to be a good person for you. You need it. And I want to tell you that I think you are an inspiration and an awesome person. I admire all that you do. Janie, You gonna make some more phone calls today. Try to find a new Doc. Everyone have a great day and don't forget it's CTCD
  11. And Haydee??????????????
  12. I haven't heard anyone complaining, Has anyone else heard anyone complaining? However,,,,, I would love to have you come this way again. I'm really close to Independence Center where they have a SWLC. We could have a girls night out again.
  13. That last one is actually the place we picked the brochure up for. It says they opened in October. Give them a call.
  14. Once again. www. moreoflifecom/portal/page/portal/WTLSC/locations
  15. Jane, Here are a few I looked up. Locations DePaul Weight Loss Home Page Surgical Weight Management - Washington University Physicians in St. Louis, MO Take a look at these and see if they can get you in. It's worth the try.
  16. Janie, Did you ever look into that brochure we picked up at the mall for the "Surgical Weight Loss" place? I know they have one at the mall here and that they do fills even though they didn't do your surgery. They should have one somewhere close to you. Try calling them and see if they could get you in. Anything would be better than having put up with attitudes like that.
  17. My next "maybe" fill is January 6th. I say maybe because I'm not really sure I need one. It's just a matter of my trying not to push the band to the limit. And one thing for sure is not eating all the gooey candy, cookie crap that was around the house here. Report for today... 1 circuit at Curves 1 bowl of oatmeal 1 1/2 mile walk Salad with 1/2 chicken breast 5 pretzels Tonight I am meeting an old frend for dinner at Long John Silvers. Holding my breath on this one and already rehearsing what I will be ordering. Plus I haven't seen this guy for about 2 years and he knows I'm banded, so I anxious for him to see how much I have changed. He is bringing another person that we worked with and she had GB. She lost alot but as soon as she was able to eat regular food again the weight started to come back on. I know it wasn't an easy decision for her, one of the times I talked to her about it she said that had she known before hand what she would be going thru, she never would have had the surgery. Poor thing. Glad to hear you got your phone back Tracy. I too would be very lost without mine. I wouldn't be able to call anyone. Even hubby. I have know idea wht his number is, just that he is #2 on my speed dial. Have a good one.
  18. Well my problem is that I have a disease.......... Hand-To-Mouth Disease. Instead of a lap-band I should have had my elbows locked in to a straight position. Or maybe one of those cones they put on animals, have you ever seen them try to eat with one of those things on?
  19. Guess I'll have to go have a:martini_shaken: Margi:martini_shaken: to Celebrate for Pam.:tongue_smilie: Good Job, Girl.
  20. I've been up 10 minutes and doing well so far..... That's funny Judy. I've been up 20 minutes and have had 2 hot cocoa's already. Here's my dilemma, Abagail spent the night last night and I told her I would make pancakes for breakfast. Here it is morning and I don't have anything to make pancakes with. Do you think french toast would pass???? She's doing good while "Handy Manny" is on. When it's over I think I'll be in trouble. LOL.. Haydee, I think you were the one that asked. Abagail is my grandniece. My nephew and his wife have the one, so far. She's the spitting image of her father and has many of his little habits he had when he was younger. It brings back so many memories. This will be a challenge for me today, having to feed a little girl and eat responsibly. I'm up for the challenge. Have a great day and chat at you soon.
  21. Still 32 degrees here but the rain has stopped. Janie should be getting it now. I'm gonna try doing the ticker 25 pounds at a time and see how that goes. Maybe that will be a little more incourageing.
  22. My report so far........ 1 Protein Shake (insert applause here) Not to bum you all out but as of this morning all of my Christams decorations are boxed and put away in the garage. Yes I said it. All done. It was rainy all morning and I woke up early and just decided to do it and get it done. I was wanting to go walk but it's only 32 degrees right now and with all the rain I don't want to hit any slick spots. Guess I'll just sit around here and take pictures of my kitties with my new camera.
  23. Right now it's thunderstorming and than pretty soon it is supposed to change over to sleet and than snow later today. Yuck. Terry, I would be stressed also if my duaghter was doing that. How scary. I hope she did a lot of investigating of these women she is moving in with. What a leap. I'm not sure I would have to courage to chuck it all and move like that I will keep her in my prayers that she stays safe. Not much going on here today. Especially with it raining. Have a great day and make excellent food choices today.
  24. I had the best food and water day...... That is until I got home and proceeded to eat the last 6 cookies and the last rice krispy treats. The good thing is that everything is now gone so I don't have to worry about it anymore. I'm still under my calorie intake for the day. Looks like cottage cheese and pineapple for dinner. Hubby and I headed to the shopping center to go see what "Best Buys" had in digital cameras. What a madhouse. We finally got in there and they had a display of 30 cameras but only had about 5 in-stock and not the one I was looking at. We were going to go across the steet to "Circuit City" but that was a huge mess trying to get across the street and into the parking lot. We decided to go home. On the way Hubby asked about going to Wal-mart and I told him it was up to him. It wasn't quite as crowded as I thought it was going to be. We got a parking spot 2 spots from the door, went right to the cameras and some lady came up and asked if I needed help. I asked if they had this camera in-stock and yes they did. So I have a brand new Canon 10 megapixel digital camera. WOOHOO!!!!!!!!! I even have it downloaded on to the computer already. Dang, I'm good. LOL. So the only thing I have left to do is keep my big mouth shut and not cram it full of anything. That shouldn't be too hard since all the crap is now gone.
  25. Back to reality and back to work. Doing a double shift today. The other girl is in Colorado for the holiday. Last night for dinner we had shrimp, while we were eating I had another talk with the family about how things ae going to change around here. Starting Today. They said it's not New Years yet. I said it didn't matter, things have to change around here. Starting with no more eating dinner at 9pm. Hubby said he's up for it. Now he just needs to work out hard at the Y. I hope all of you had a wonderful day yesterday. So far it sounds like everyone did. Have a great day and chat at you later.
