  1. I agree with having the protein in the morning. It's just that yesterday was one of thse really out of control days. The good thing about it was I don't keep anything here so I didn't have anything in the cupboards to run to. Have you ever had one of those days were it just seems like you just want to snack, snack, snack all day. Just like you just can't seem to get enough. You know it kind of reminded me of when you start your TOM. One of those kinda days.
  2. I'm up. Slept in a little this morning. I guess I needed it. Kat, Keeping Manda in my prayers. I'm sure that has to be painful and uncomfortable. Judy, I snorted my hot cocoa when I opened that e-mail you sent. Too funny. Michelle, be safe out there. TracyK, becareful moving. Where's Haydee at???? Everyone have a great day.
  3. We are having a fish fry Sunday during the game. I thought guacamole sounded good for it. Think maybe a pitcher of Margi's would also go good??????
  4. Just back from taking Sis to the Doc's and shopping. I actually made it out of Wal-Mart without buying any candy. I did however buy 8 avocado's. I need them for gucamole for the super bowl. Heather, I probably would have done the same thing. That story was too funny. Stand tough.
  5. It's gonna be a tough day today. I woke up hungry and I'm still hungry. I've had about 4 cups of hot chocolate, 8 life savers and I just now finished a bowl of oatmeal. I just feel like I could tear the kitchen apart and eat everything. And what is gonna make it worse is here in a little bit I have to take my sister grocery shopping. Lord, give me strenght.
  6. 5 degrees. Getting ready for work. Have a great day.
  7. A preliminary study suggests that restricting calories may improve memory. » How diet could help Funny, now I can't remember why I came here. Oh well.
  8. Tracy, is he complaining about pain? I didn't realize that they could get them so young. I had them about 2 years ago and mine hurt like the dickens. I ended up getting a tube of calamine lotion that had pain relief in it. That helped a little bit. Good Luck to you and Robby. Warning: ugly picture attached.
  9. Work was busy tonight. Thought that the flurries and cold would keep everyone home. We gave Tippy her first round of pain meds. Went ok but I'm afraid that now that she knows what is going on that tomorrow is going to be a lot harder. I did most excellent on my calorie intake today. Just wasn't healthy calories. I need to work a little better on getting some veggies in me. Have a great night and talk to you tomorrow.
  10. Happy snowy day. Yup, it's still flurrying here. Jane, from the very start my Doc made sure that I knew that this was just a tool for us. That we still had to work at losing the weight. Just that the band was going to make it a little easier. I'm always amazed at the people that lost all their weight and it seemed like they didn't even try to do it. That the band seem to really work great for them. I just have to remember that they probably didn't have the issuses with food like I do. That is why I am now seeing a Psych Doc. To help me understand why I feel the need to sabotage myself. That is one of the reasons why I always liked coming to this group. Somehow knowing that you all have similar stuggles as I do seemed to help. Knowing that I am not alone in my daily quest to keep myself on track. When I see that someone here has had a good day that gives me hope and rallies me to try to do the same for myself. When I read that someone has had a bad day than I know I'm not alone in this struggle. I told TracyinKS one time at a meeting that I really like when she post what her daily food intake was. That seems to help me alot. Some day soon you will find what helps you. Maybe going to Weight Watchers or some other form of a support group. I've been going once a month to my Doctor's support group meetings and I think they have been helping me. You too will find what works for you. Kat, I will keep your friend in my prayers. She has a long battle in front of her. Yesterday hubby and I had to take one of our cats in to the animal hospital. We were thinking that she had a urinary tract infection. They ended up having to keep her over night to get a sample out of her. This morning she still had not pee'd for them so they had to take a needle and draw out a sample.Turns out she just has a lower urinary inflamation. No bacteria. So she is now home and on pain meds and orders to drink lots of water. (Hmmm, where have I heard that before?). And to think that thru all of that I didn't stress eat. Well, I'm off to work. I have the evening shift today Wonder how busy we will be with it still snowing. Have a great evening. Tippy and Suziecat say Drink, Drink, Drink.
  11. Good Morning. All is well here. We are getting real little little little snow flurries. They are so cute. Regular schedule for today. One thing that I am really going to start to work on is "Why" I got my band. If I keep reminding myself why I got it, hopefully that will help me to remember to use it correctly and not abuse it. I'll remember to not to try to eat things I shouldn't and to not over due the things I can eat. Like Tracy says, "Respect the Pouch". TracyK, sending all my purple power to you and your neck. I hope that they can do therapy on it and get you to feeling a lot better. Michelle, Hope your daughter gets to feeling better soon also. Everone have a great day and remember that it is "CTCD".
  12. Good Morning, Up and getting ready for a very long day. Have a great day and make good choices.
  13. Laura, The lamp turned out wonderful. Good Job.
  14. Up and checking in. Have a great day and make good choices.
  15. OMG, I just saw on Yahoo News that Kansas City is listed as the 25th. Fattest city. Good thing Tracy and I don't live there.....LOL
  16. Haydee, here's some pics for you. Do you recognize the sweater? Thank You so much for the clothes you sent.
  17. Back from the hospital. They need to run more test but she should get out Tuesday. Kat, Thank you for the post. I do worry for you and hate that you go thru so much. I also agree about the food. I feel that need that after I eat that I just need to eat more. It doesn't matter what it is, I just need something. I also feel like I am supposed to make these big meals everyday. Not sure where that comes from except that Hubby's Mother always had big meals for us when we went to visit. So I guess I'm thinking that I have to make a big meal to keep up with what she did. Well, her big meals were only on Sunday. The rest of the week it was bologna sandwiches. I still feel the need to make the meals as tasty and fancy just to satisfy hubby. I also appreciate everyone posting there food intake. I told Tracy at one of the support meetings about it. I feel that it helps keep me on track if I see what you are all eating. If you guys can do it I can do it. I need to hear about your struggles and yes I do need to hear about you successes. Be it 2 french fries or walking 5 miles a day. It does help me to be accountable. All of you need to know that you are a huge part of my success. I have come to rely on all of you and your struggles remind me that I don't walk this alone. You have all been in my shoes and know my struggles. I do get very jealous of all of you. Most of you are at your goal or very close to it. I still have a long ways to go. Your struggles with your 2 pound or 15 pounds that you still need to lose is just as important as my 90 pounds that I still need to lose. Your daily ups and downs are just as important as mine. Hugs to all of you and remember to always check in when you can. If you can't get on here, send an e-mail to someone so that we know all is ok.
  18. Judy, Thanks, I needed that. And I was also worried that something happened to the Bobster or Kris. Glad to know all is well. I hope everyone does let us know if they are going to be gone for awhile. It does help us not to worry. I'm off to go visit a friend in the hospital and I am wearing a sweater that I got from Haydee. I had hubby take a pic and when I get back I will post it. I seriously need to get started on my water also.
  19. Morning, The sun is shining so bright you almost need to wear sunglasses inside. I think the dusting of snow we got is also adding to that. I was up most of the night with bathroom problems. Apparently I must not be drinking enough water. My poor little b/h is so sore. I must drink more water, I must drink more water......... Jane e-mailed and said she can't get on here. Whether it is money or food, snowballing is a very serious problem. If you don't stay on top of it it can get really out of hand. I have had several people tell me that I just needed to just stop eating, you know like how alcoholics just stop drinking. That would be fine if I could live with out food like they could live without drinking. Kat, I probably would have handled that situation just like you had. A lot of times I just don't tell people that I have a band. That way I don't have to listen to how I shouldn't have done it, that surgery is not the way to go, that I will gain it back. It's easier to just tell people that I do Weight Watchers. And that's a big lie. I haven't been in about 4 months. If I wasn't losing why was I paying. Anyway, they seem to be happy with the fact that I do WW. What a sensible way to do it. That's the right way to do it. What ever way you lose it is probably the right way for you to have lost it. Now comes the hard part- keeping it off. That is probably a whole lot harder to do. Not going back to your old eating habits. Maybe that's why they so many people returning to WW after they have lost their weight. Hubby has the fireplace going and I have my favorite NEW coffecup with hot cocoa in it. Nice and cozy here but I will be breaking that spell soon. Gonna take a shower and get my housework done. Have a great day and make good choices.
  20. :scared2: I wanna come over and cheat with you.
  21. We are getting a very light dusting of snow right now. So I'm all bundled up and the fireplace is roaring. All comfy cozy.
  22. I know I shouldn't have made such a big deal about the 2 french fries. But it was huge to me. I have somehow managed to have lost 12.5 pounds since Jan. 5th. and for me to have eaten those 2 french fries could lead to me sabotaging myself again. It's a daily struggle for all of us and it really isn't a laughing matter. I'll try a little harder next time to control myself. It's getting colder outside. I was trying to decide about making a pot of chili tonight or wait till tomorrow when it's really supposed to get cold. Maybe I'll wait and just fix a ham & cheese omelet for hubby and I tonight.
  23. Terri, That is great about your son. I hope things continue to improve. Jane, How is your fill going??
  24. I promise I will try harder.
  25. I ate 2 of my hubbies french fries.
