LAURA!!! I have goose-bumps!! I'm so thrilled to read your exciting news!! I was gone all day yesterday and, ahem, did not receive my text message... & I've got that Verizon guy & his network w/me wherever I go, too. Harumph. I was so glad when I read that you were going to call your fill doc back w/the new "development" to see if you can get your unfill sooner... I definitely think you need to. Oh, and get the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting" -- it's fantastic!! The house looks great -- I'm in! The Violets, a blender, and a baby... heaven! I wasn't here yesterday because I was in Hershey, PA... we saw "The Boss" Bruce Springsteen in concert last night! It was great... mostly because he played my #1 fav all-time song "Rosalita"... it was a gorgeous night... & ds went with us... his 1st-ever rock 'n roll concert. Make it a great day, Vi's!!

Hi gals! OMG, I logged on & didn't realize that I was 3 days behind!! Yikes!! Time flies! I was not away... just home & busy! This is the last week before school starts & it'll be a busy one... between getting the kids ready and the PTA stuff done for Back to School night on Friday & first day next Monday. Phew! DS had to be at soccer tryouts @ 6:30AM this morning!! Oh my! So I took some proofreading & went & hung out @ Starbucks for 1.5 hrs... then it was only 8:30am by the time I got home but felt like it should've been NOON already. Then it's phone calls & designing postcards & planning stuff & BTS shopping @ Staples etc & so forth... + I've picked up an extra kid along the way... dd's "bff" who, ssssshhhh don't tell, I can NOT stand... great... So it'll be hit or miss w/me around here the next week or so... but ya'll are always in my heart!!! Suzie & Janie... so jealous of your meet!!! Terri... both houses look good... but I'm still thinking somewhere "new" might be fun, too. Are we locking in to anything yet? Judy... You sound as busy as I feel! TracyK... Baseball games = fun!! Kat... Happy belated birthday, sweetie!! TracyKS... hang in there, girlfriend! Pam... Happy BTS to you!!! I bet you're wiped out tonight! The first day back always hits me like a ton of bricks! WTF?? :tongue_smilie: I just have too much going on, internally/externally, homewise, workwise, volunteer wise & every which way. One more week of summer, then the kids start school & I am HOPING that our lives smooth out a bit & get into a routine... even a busy routine is better for me than this "every day is different than the day before" thing that we've had going all summer. + ds will begin HS and I am still having a major problem w/that emotionally!! Waa waa, poor poor pitiful me. Someone smack me!

<waving my hand @ Haydee> Me! Me! I know about DC! Cuz that's basically where I live!! The Fall is THE BEST time to visit DC... September or October would be my suggestions... because the weather is getting cooler (usually), & it's less crowded, the summer tourists are gone & the school trips haven't kicked in yet. If you come to DC, we HAVE to get together!!! I can meet you ANYWHERE in the DC area!! Woot!!

Tracyk... Land's End has great jeans & pants for girls w/elastic waists or the buttons in the waistband that can be adjusted... they sell them @ Sear's stores or you can get them online... the frequently have "no shipping" sales... they're great quality... they're still my fav for dd, even tho she prefers "cooler" pants... Suzie... He may not be taking the drugs himself... he might be selling them to others... evidently that's a big biz right now w/teens... in fact, I read something recently about how if you're going to be having teens in your home, you should "secure" your prescription meds in a shoebox marked "Christmas" on a closet shelf... but that you should never leave them anywhere in the bathroom or displayed somewhere (like a kitchen table or basket)... isn't that too bad? Also, I'm curious why you wouldn't tell his mom?? I'd think she'd need to know. If it was me, I'd want to know. As much as you love him & want to help him, you may not be able to &/or you may not be able to do it alone. Good luck w/all this...

That's the thing w/being a mom... you never know when you'll be thrown into hardcore "parenting" mode... and it can take you for a loop! I still feel so rotten... I hate this feeling!!! & I know that only time can make it go away... poor dude...

Good Morn, Vi's~~ Wow am I ever tired! I went to bed around 12:30am on Fri & woke up @ 5a on Sat! Did the yard sale... it was... interesting, I'd say. I vacillated between "I want to make some $$" and "I want to get rid of this stuff"... ha ha! I made about $225 and got rid of about 1/2 the stuff I took. Then I gave my sis 3 boxes of clothes for her church's thrift shop... so came home w/only a few boxes, which I think I'll put up on e-bay to see if there are any takers... and if not, then by that point you'd think that maybe I'll get the hint that, although I think these items are wonderful, no one else does (at least not enough to buy them, ha!) and I'll donate them somewhere. Lots of interesting folks @ the yard sale... and thankfully it was a gorgeous day. So all in all, a good day, but I was soooooo tired that I didn't go to the soccer party, but came home, took a bubble bath, & crashed. Then this a.m. I woke up to TOM! Lovely. Just had an upsetting phone call. My ds watched a neighbor's pets this week while there were on vacation... he's done it for them & others before... and they came home yesterday & the dad called and said that ds didn't do a good job... gave several legit examples... I am stunned and very upset. So had a talk w/ds about it... he is surprised, too... thought he did ok... (when he was younger, I'd go w/him when he watched pets, to help him & teach him, but I haven't done that for his last few pet-sitting jobs, I thought he was old enough to do it on his own... I did ask him frequently if everything there was ok, if he needed any help, or I'd say, "Did you scoop the cat's poop today?" stuff like that, so it's not like he didn't have the opportunity to say, "can you come & check out such & cush...")... so I had to go into "parenting" mode about working for people, whether it's a part-time kid job or a full-time job to support a family, and how it's not what YOU think you did but what the BOSS thinks... & that's why dh & I go "above & beyond" in all that we do... and what he should say to the neighbor when he goes up in a bit to return the key... ugh... I reminded ds that we learn more from failures than successes and that I hope, rather than just feeling badly from this, that he learns something that can help him do better in the future... blah blah blah all that kind of stuff... but I still feel like crap, too! I hate this feeling!!! Letting someone down... ugh...

Wasn't it just last year that everyone was raving about how 7/7/07 was such a lucky day?? Guess next year it will be 9/9/09! :thumbup: Just finished watching the Olympics & packing up the car... off EARLY in the a.m., then a soccer game, then soccer party... so it'll probably be Sunday before I "see" you all again. Wish me luck w/this Yard Sale thing!!

Good Morn, Vi's~~ Happy 08/08/08! Yep, Olympics tonight... ds is insisting that we have Chinese food for dinner while watching the opening ceremonies... I bet lots of folks will be doing that tonight! Ha! A run on egg rolls!! Last day to prep for the yard sale tomorrow... am not going to "clean" in the basement, but do have to go down & pull out a few more items & then organize it all & pack up the car... the sale starts @ 7am & we can get there starting @ 6am, so I'll have to be all ready to go tonight. Make it a good one, Vi's!
