  9. i had my surgery with Dr A oct 31 2011 i went alone and i am done 80lbs as of today so 35 lbs to goal. He is great and most of all the staff are great. I plan on going back for plastics in a year or so. I would do it all over again. The key is to get up and move and sip sip sip fluid and walking is going to make every thing so much better. I was up walking a few hours after my surgery and every time i woke up that night i would get up and walk around up and down the stairs..i wish every one the best of luck..

  12. i so know what you mean. The person i work out with kept telling me that i needed new work out clothes the old ones needed to go. So realy i did not see what the big deal was that i had to roll the waist band up 4 times for them to fit right... So i went to look at walmart for some new ones and i at one time was a 2 x so i grabbed a large and then i was like well let me grab a Med and see.. I'll be if my butt did fit into those Med and so now i am rocking those Med work out pants.. However i was also looking around at some dresses and found my self looking at the 22/24 now why would i do that.. Well after so many years of looking at one side of the store for clothes it is realy hard to make that mental note that hey you get to go to the skinny people side now.. And the other funny thing is that i found the clothes on the plus size side much cuter... WOW i really need to change my frame of mind.. I wish you the best of luck on your weight loss and just know that when people tell you how great you look they really mean it.... =)

It has been a while since i was on here last.. I would like to just give an update on my progress. Have my surgery 10-31-11 and as of today i have lost 79lbs. Putting my down to 176lbs. My goals is 145lbs to 140lbs. So i really hope to be there by my one year mark. This was the best thing i could have done for my self i would never take it back..

  16. I have to admit i too am one of those that look at others and say " please lord dont let me get that big" I would not say that i am so judgemental as i am sad.. I know what it is like and how hard it is to fight for the smaller you. I know that not every one can get this done and that saddens me even more. I just wish that every ones medical would cover this and then that would give every one a chance to be healthy.
  17. hmmmm i never did. i just used table spoons at first and now almost 5 months post op i just eat slow and only put a little in my dish, You will soon figure out that your body will tell you when you are full. Just eat slow and trust your sleeve
  18. welcome to the bench....(__) (__) >>>>> that's me sliding over to make room for ya..
  19. Dont be so hard on your self.. Today was a bad day so the next day will be much better.. I am not going to lie i have had my days when i just feel like i need a bit of ice cream and you know what i had it. there is now way in life we are going to be able to not have a nice treat once in a while. Keep your head up and dont be so hard on your self
  20. I am not sure how to help but i too have that same gurgling sound when i eat and drink. My Husband says it sounds like i am growling in my sleep. I think its funny.. But i am not sure how long he can tke it.. LOL I would love to hear what people have to say about this. I was thinking it was acid but i take my meds so idk
  21. I packed very light just a carry on, very comfy clothes and my laptop. The one thing i also took with me was a phone list and put it next to my bed in my room and told them that those would be the people to contact incase any thing went wrong.. That is one thing the states we as for is an emerg contact however i was not asked about one when i went to mexico. I wish you the best. See you on the other side.
  22. i went alone in oct and the only thing i wish i had another perosn with me for was help at the airport going home. It was a pain in the butt draging all my things thru the airport. Other than that it was fine you meet some great people while you are there and you can stay in touch with them they become your sleeve sisters and brothers..
  23. i had my surgery on a monday and did not go back to work until the next monday. so i took a full week off and for me that was ok. I to have a desk job however by mid day i really could have used a nap. I would take as much time as you can just to be on the safe side..
