  1. I like going to kohls and buying off their 60-80% off racks...some things as little as 2-3$. love the goodwill too! it is such a nice feeling to buy from the normal section instead of the plus size rack....they actually have more then one rack in the normal section! if you do spend the money to get yourself clothes that actually fit, in my opinion....it is a motivator because you feel better about yourself, and want to work ven harder to get to goal! good luck everyone! work those sleeves!!!
  2. the vsg has been around for a very long time....it is only now that it has become more popular.
  3. wow, thank you for sharing. it just goes to show us that this surgery isnt a majic wand. we all have to work at this and stay on track if we want it to work. I wish you the best in this new journey!
  4. well, I dont go by any amount of messuring....I eat what my sleeve tells me to. I would just take it slow while eating it and stop when you are content. Everyones sleeve is different and fits a different amount of food. the surgeons are only able to change the width of our sleeves, not the length.....some people have long stomachs and some have short, that is why everyone can handle different amounts of food....as well as the bougie size that the doc used in the surgery. just eat what feels right good luck!
  5. keep pushing, you will get there. im sure that the 4 pounds is just Water, and it will come off soon!
  6. you have internal stiches too that take time to heal (even longer then the external) it is totally normal to feel like it is tight in that area. if you have any redness or heat (or fluid) then go to doc asap.
  7. just count your blessings that you are having a great recovery!
  8. you will be able to have it again, just wait till you are healed....
  9. I won a contest at my gym....it was for who could improve the most on situp's, pushup's, squats, bench press, and rowing over the period of 6 weeks. I won 3 months of free membership. I didnt tell them about my surgery. Its none of their business!
  10. my weight went back up with my tom, not all the way but I put back on 6 pounds. Then after my tom it went back down to 187....now a few days later I have gone back to 185.5.....so I am still thrilled that it is moving, even if it is at a slow pace.
  11. I'm sorry you are feeling so down! I hope the best for you ((hugs)) step up the exercise, and eat a little more...(yes I said more) mabye your body needs it....thinking you are starving. you will break the stall! Just keep smiling!
  12. I dont remember when I hit a 100 pounds down...but I did make it to onederland in may I believe. I am definatly going to have plasitics. I have about another 30 pounds to lose before I will have a tummy tuck and a boob lift and plumping . I have the money saved and the doc picked already. I will probably schedule a consult with him by the end of summer, hopefully I will be down those 30 pounds by then good luck ladies!
  13. that what if feeling is hard to deal with...but we will make it through...just keep smiling, we are beautiful!
  14. that is so wonderful! congrats!
  15. I know that being on a liquid diet for 2 weeks before surgery and then 2 weeks after the surgery was enough to drive me absolutely nuts! I'm not so sure that even with the sleeve as your tool that anyone could manage that long on that kind of restriction. my nut wanted me to get my protein from "real" food. I'm glad that she did. as far as losing hair...we all do have hair loss, but that doesnt mean all of your hair is going to fall out. I would just notice extra on my clothing and in the shower, I never got thin on the head. good luck to you!
  16. I had the same pain...it doesnt last...it will go away but it took me until about the end of month 2 to not have it anymore. I had a case of serious buyers remorse for a while there. thankfully it passed and now I love my sleeve!
  17. just keep up the exercise and the high protein. The stall will last as long as it takes for your body to adjust to this culture shock you will get there!
  18. thank you everyone for such nice feedback. I wish you all the best!!
  19. wow, thank you! I am so glad that I could provide encouragement to someone who is that far out and ahead of me. you can do it! just keep moving!
  20. it will work for you....you are in the 3 week stall that everyone gets. you wont believe how fast the scale will move once you break that first stall! good luck!
  21. you are so welcome! I know there have been a few times in this journey that I have been on the edge, so I am glad to be able to help someone through the same thing! good luck!
  22. I hear that a slight regain is normal. however you dont want to have that turn into your worst nightmare! have you ever tried replacing a meal with a shake? or even 2? then just eat what you want for the other meals? I have also heard alot of good things about the 5 day pouch test...where it helps get some shrinkage back....mabye that would help. hope all the best for you! good luck!!
  23. We all have been there. You hit a stall and it lasts so long that you start to believe that your weight loss is done. I know all about stalls...I know everyone gets them, but regardless I still get those little demons creeping up in my mind saying...you arent going to lose anymore weight, you are a failure. This last stall was a duzzy. I had been the same weight plus or minus 2 pounds for almost 3 months. I started to believe that I had let myself down, and started feeling depressed, thinking what was the point? I started eating crap that I knew was bad for me believing that why should I even try to eat right if it isnt going to work anyways. Well just when I was about to give up completely my scale did something amazing.... I lost 5 pounds in a week! Thinking it was just a fluke I got back on the scale the next day and wouldnt you guess it...no I wouldnt have, but I lost another pound! Then a few days later I rechecked to see if I gained any back...and bamb! I lost another two pounds! I lost 8 pounds in a matter of 9 days I just wanted to give a little inspiration to those of you that are in one of those dreaded stalls....just keep positive...keep working that sleeve, and your body will do the rest! keep smiling!
