Liquid Diet
Thanks girls for all the well wishes. Well, my story is; I am 48 years old, married and mom to 2 beautiful girls age 11 & 14. I have been dieting since I was 6 years old. My mom was heavier and obsessed with weight, so she always had a new fad diet to try. I have gained and lost probably 3 people in my lifetime. Last big weightloss was when I got married 15 years ago. I lost 80 lbs dieting and exercising but gained it all back and some when I got pregnant. Back in 2006 my intestine ruptured and I needed to have an emergency colostomy. Luckily I only had to have the "bag" for 9 months. Then I got pulmonary embolisms, and 2 hernias (both surgically fixed). So since then I joined a gym and I work out with cardio and weight training 4+ times a week. I can't even buy a 1 lb weightloss. I've given up coffee, carbs, potatoes, sweets, chips, you name it. Nothing helps. So I am hoping the sleeve will finally be the answer for me. My husband is a great guy, but not really supportive of me getting this surgery. He loves me the way I am....but I don't. He loves to eat but I want to be thin and healthy. My mom isn't really supportive either but she just doesn't understand this whole procedure and how it can help. Thank God for this forum to get the support I desperately need, especially this week. Thank you all for listening and caring. My email is mizwilly10@aol.com. Go November sleevers and the ones who want to sleeved in November. Good luck to us all.

Liquid Diet
Hey girls. I'm set for my sleeve on Nov 1. I have been on a strict liquid diet since the 18th and boy it's been tough. Proteins, broth, fruits, vegetables and sf jello. First few days sucked but a week tomorrow and ive lost 8.5 lbs already. But, did I mention it's hard? Especially since I have little to no support and my family still has to eat and I'm the one cooking for them. But..... 1 week to go. Hopefully I can make it. We all can!!! Looks like we are all in this together!!! Go us!!!!

OMG..13 days till surgery and I am changing my mind
I am getting my sleeve on Nov 1 and even though I sometimes feel like I should not go thru with it. I am so ready to lose this weight once and for all. I also felt I could do it on my own but how many years have you been trying that?? Way too many!!!! If you made a commitment to do it then obviously you felt that it was what you wanted. I don't think you or I will regret it. Please read thru all of these different posts because you will hear some amazing stories that will give you more confidence in getting it done. Good luck!!!

Spouses feelings
I can only hope I lose like that!!! I know the feeling... My husband never dated heavy girls and for years he wanted me thin but I just think he's forgotten how good I looked all those years ago. We've been together 21 years and was plump when we met but no where near as big as I am now. I'm glad you are still working out and taking care of yourself, I love working out and plan to continue since I need it for my mental health also. I cant imagine getting too thin, because I really don't want things to sag to much. I'm hoping all the weight training will pay off on the long run. And your right, he is a good guy and he loves me so I'm sure things will work out. I just wish he wouldn't add more stress to this stressful time.

Spouses feelings
It is so nice to hear all your stories. I am sure he will support me when I actually have the surgery. I think this 2 week pre op diet is making him nervous, because he thinks I will never be eating again. I had lost alot of weight before we got married, and he loved the way I looked then. I got pregnant 3 months later, gained back the 80 lbs and have been carrying it around for 14 years. He has grown accustomed to my fat self but I have not. I hate the way I look and feel carrying this around. Plus the diabetes. I tried to diet and exercise and keep losing and gaining the same 20lbs. I just want to be that weight again... I've explained that to him. He knows it needs to be done but he doesn't want it to affect our "fun" eating. But I think when push comes to shove he will be there for me.

Spouses feelings
You guys brought tears to my eyes. You are so encouraging and I am blessed to have found this forum as way to connect with other wonderful people who are going thru or have gone thru the same issues I am having. I keep telling him that I will eat again soon but just like a normal person, not an obese one. He is trying to lose weight too but thru exercise, he still has a love of food. Hopefully he will love the new me. Thanks so much. You guys rock )

Saggy skin
Well, so far I have no wrinkles on my face at age 48 due to my wonderful genes. In fact my mom is a young looking 82. I have been weight training for 6 years, 3 days a week, walking on treadmill 6 days a week.. So I'm hoping that the amount of muscle I have now works in my favor. It's nice to know there are others out there with the same issues. And there is always plastic surgery!!! Thanks. Good luck in your journey!!!

Spouses feelings
I am getting my sleeve on Nov 1. I am so excited. I am 3 days in on my 2 week pre op diet and so far, so good. My problem is that my husband started out being supportive of my choice to have the surgery, but as it gets closer, he is having issues with it. He loves his food and thinks that I am ruining his life by doing this. He also makes little digs about getting my stomach ripped out and that he loves me the way I am and is worried that I will look saggy and droopy after losing weight. I really need to lose 100 lbs, not only to be healthy ( I am diabetic) but to finally after 48 years to like the way I look. Can anyone tell me how their spouses have dealt with this. Either before or after the actual weightless. I'm so psyched and he's making me nervous and apprehensive.
