Surgery Date!
Glad you got a date. Congrats on that. Just a little hint on the "no pre-op diet" thing though. I would take it easy with the eating 2-3 prior. You don't want to be too full and bloated when you go to the hospital. It will make you feel so much worse. And going to the bathroom (bm)...ugh. It's good to have that cleaned out before you go so you don't have to strain any more than necessary for a day or two. I have had 3 abdominal surgeries, trust me ,I know. Best wishes and keep in touch :0)

Magic Bullet Is The Bomb!
I have one too (I can't remember what mine's name brand is) and I love that little booger. It is so easy and the cup fits in the dishwasher top rack. You can even drink directly out of my cup too. WONDERFUL!

Wt Loss Not What Expected! What Am I Doing Wrong?
You're not doing anything wrong. The shock of surgery can cause you to retain and even gain weight. I gained 10# in the hospital. It took me awhile to get that back off. Then I went through the 3 week stall. It was a little while before I got the ball to rolling, but after I did it for sure gathered no moss. Just have patience. Every-one's journey is different. YOU WILL LOSE!! Best wishes :0)

Stocking Up Smaller Wardrobe?
I didn't buy anything. You can usually wear stuff for awhile after you start losing. When I did buy stuff, it was not new. I swapped with friends, went to the Goodwill, Salvation Army and yard sales. If you have a lot to lose, buying new is a total waste of your money. Since Feb. I have gone from a 28 to an 18. I don't wear anything more than a couple of weeks, so I refuse to pay full price. Save your money until the weight loss slows down...and that probably won't be for a year. The only exception to this was underwear. I broke down and bought new ones, but they were $8 a pack Fruit of the Looms; not $20 a pair department store frillies. I only wear them a couple of weeks too.

So Glad I Found This Site!
I chose the sleeve because it was permanent, it required less dissecting of my insides and because it removes the part of the stomach that produces the hunger hormone. It has comparable weight loss to the by-pass and I knew that I had a lot to lose (150#). I am pleased with my results. I had my surgery on Valentine's Day and I expect to join the Century Club (100# lost) within the next few days. Best wishes on your journey. You can do it!

Help. Chunky Throat? Not Tolerating Water...
At this point, drink anything you can get down and as often as you can get it down. If it has to be broth all day...do it. If it has to be a box of Popsicles a day...do it. Don't freak out right now. You are REALLY raw on the inside; burning can be expected. Just try to relax. Tension makes it harder to swallow. Trust me, I KNOW. Just hold on, it should ease up considerably in a few days. Best wishes and congrats (((hugs)))

9 Months Post Op
Just because you snack, doesn't mean you have to overdo it on calories ect. I eat every 2-3 hours (per doctor's orders) and have still never had more than 800 calories. I have lost 93# in less than 5 months. You can do it. Just make better choices on what you snack on. There are lots of options. Best wishes, I am also a stay-at-home mom (I have 4 kids, 2 with special needs) so I know how stressful this life can be. :)

Will I Ever Enjoy Eating Again?
Well, I don't want to be a kill-joy, but for me the answer is no. I am over four months out and I do not enjoy eating at all. It is a task that has to be done to stay alive and that is it. I am never hungry and do not enjoy the taste of anything that I used to. My results cannot predict yours though. Everyone is different. And you know what, I may be different in another month. You evolve greatly from day to day, week to week after the sleeve. It is a road of a lot of twists and turns and surprises. The main thing is to have patience; something that is not a great virtue of mine. If I want to try something, I do it. It may make me throw up, but hey, if it does I'll be fine in a minute and I don't have to eat any more of it. I can leave it off for awhile and try it again in a couple of weeks. It's all trial and error. I have learned what things fill me up faster, what gives me heartburn and what swells and sits like a rock in my chest. I am trying to learn other things to enjoy; eating out was always our weekly highlight. Now, I do not enjoy it at all. I told my husband that I was going to have to learn how to shop (something I have never done). He is going to have to start giving me my saved food money to buy new clothes. I promised that I would spend some on some nice night clothes, so at least we could enjoy some good dessert together...LOL Best Wishes!!

Nothing Bothers Me? Really?
It has really messed up my taste. Now I absolutely detest chocolate, cake, pie, cookies. I have tried it all and have heaved with every bit of it. It is just ungodly sweet now! I can eat a little vanilla ice cream, but even that gags me some times. I used to love chocolate. It kind of bothers me that I can't eat it; because I can't eat more than a bite of anything, I know for sure that I wouldn't over do it. My mom brought my husband and me a box of Russell Stouffer's bloopers back from the mountains last week. I put one in my mouth, chewed it a little and had to spit it out. It gaged me and I knew that I would throw up if I swallowed it. It is amazing to me just how much your taste can change with this; after all, they changed our stomachs, not our tongues...lol.

Bummed Beond Beleif . . .
I'm sorry for what you are going through. I know what it feels like. I had to take our little weenie dog and have him put down (2 years ago) because he decided to eat a plastic ball off of the Christmas tree. It caused a blockage and a section of his intestines died. The surgery was $1200-1500 and there was no way for us to afford it. I squalled for days. I suppose It's something all of us with pets will have to go through at one point or another, but that knowledge doesn't make it any easier. (((HUGS)))

July 4Th Challenge
This week was not a good week for me; I had a fibro flare and a visit from Aunt Flo. I swelled and gained 2#, so this hampered my progress. I was able to take it back off +1# more though. In the end I lost 3#, but I am only 1# lighter. I don't think I will make it to my new adjusted goal now :0/ HW 335 SW 257 (5/28/12) CW 242 GW 245 adjusted to 235 on 6/17/12 Wk 1 -6# (6/4/12) Wk 2 -3# (6/11/12) Wk 3 -5# (6/17/12: a day earily) Wk 4 -1# (6/25/12)

14Pk Of Syntrax Nectar Samples For $14 (Free Shipping)
I got mine and have been using them. I can drink them and keep them down! They really don't taste that bad and I love the variety. I have mixed some of mine with water, juice, milk, almond milk and sweet tea (I know, bad girl). I will be ordering another box of them. $1 per shake is not that bad.

My Burper Is Broken….
Yes, I get the throat gurgle. It's like a slow leak in a partially opened can of coke. Some times it makes a little sound like a dog yawning . Maybe no one will ever tell me "down girl" hehe
-
My Burper Is Broken….
YES!! I was like you; only little lady-like burps, but now it is nada. I hear all these folks complaining about the belching, but I am in the complete opposite direction. It can be VERY uncomfortable. If I try to, my stomach contents will come back up. It's been this way since the beginning and now I am 4 months out. I'm just starting to accept it as my lot.

This May Be Inappropriate, Forgive Me :)
I'm sorry, but I just absolutely LOL!

This May Be Inappropriate, Forgive Me :)
*OK, get ready for red faces* I am 92# down. I weigh 32# less than when I married. My husband and I notice a significant difference in the way everything feels on the lady parts (external). How can I say this...umm.. The lady went from having a big Angelina Jolie pucker to a smaller, more open grin... We can feel my pubic bone for the first time ever. The first time he noticed, it shocked him so bad he literally stopped to tell me; but trust me, I HAD already noticed. Penetration is much easier and deeper and the big O is O, O, Omazing. Without all that extra padding down there covering up the sensitive parts, its a LOT easier to create a spark. You know what I mean? So between the boost in my hormones and the great anatomical changes I have experienced, let's just say a boost in our sex life would be an understatement. Its kind of like eating now, ya just gotta do it every day  BTW, everything is nice and perky for me and I have had 4 kids; so if I were you, I would not be worrying about appearances. It will very likely not be a problem.
