Still trying to debate if I want it done. My surgeon told me lap band is a waste of time , he will not do that procedure. I'm leaning toward getting the sleeve , I'm so nervous , and pray that if I do get it done i made the right choice. ???????? meeting with the nutritionist tommorrow

Good for you! We all need to do what's right for us. I'm much happier having been sleeved than I was 130lbs ago. This was the right thing for me. Maybe you needed to start the process in order to get the lightbulb moment you needed to find the solution for yourself. I'm happy however that my insurance paid it for me. God knows I've paid enough into the system. Be well...

I had the VGS on 12.12.13. My highest was 300lbs. Day of surg I was 281lbs. Right now I hover at about 165lbs. My goal weight is 150lbs. The last 20lbs has been very difficult. I'm trying to incorporate excersise into my regime, which is very slow going. I know that it will be what helps me over the hump. Having WLS has been the best thing I've ever done for myself!

Hello everyone! I went to my surgeons checkup appointment today and I was given paper work for a company called Nascobal They are a bariatric pharmaceutical company that ships monthly Vitamins to your home you get : Vitamin b-12 nasal spray prescription strength, Multivitamin, Iron+ Vitamin C, and Calcium+ D3 with Magnesium. They will bill my insurance and I pay a co-pay of 20 dollars a month. I'm just wondering if anyone else has used this service, or knows anything about these specific bariatric vitamins? I know they are all chewable. My surgeon thinks it's a great program to get the right vitamins that He feels I need to have and of course you can't beat 20 bucks a month for all of it. Thank you in advance! I hope everyone is doing well

I'm getting it. The fee is reasonable and the Vitamins don't taste horrible like the Bariatric Advantage ones I have do. So why not. Usually vitamins upset my stomach. These don't seem to yet

I actually was given this same thing my my NUT. The greatest part is the nasal b-12 because it's only once a week and apparently is absorbed better than when taken in sublingual form. It's also so nice not to have to think about it, they will just send it to you and that way you never run out. I will say that I did not like the multivitamin and continue to take Flinstones but I think the $20 is worth it just for the B12.

Nope! I have not had any soda since the "last supper", thanksgiving day 2013. I miss it occasionally, but not enough to go there again. I'm doing my best to keep it clean.

Hey all! I haven't posted since the very early days out...I was sleeved on 10/2/13 at 273 pounds. I reached goal in 9.5 months which was 159 pounds which would put me at a normal bmi. At about 8 months post op I started running. That was a game changer! I have since completed a triathlon, a 5k, 2 10ks, 4 half marathons, and on January 25th, 2015 I became a marathoner! I went on to lose and additional 20 pounds and I've been maintaining 20 pounds below goal ever since. From a size 22/24 to a size 2/4. I eat clean and train hard! I am really living my best life now!

I'm glad you stopped the vomiting! I'm not even going to lecture you because you already know how bad it is. An eating disorder can be as bad as a drug addiction. Keep strong! That's awesome that your turning things around

    Hi everyone!
It seems I was a little late to join any sort of support forum for my surgery.. Better late than never, right? I got my gastric sleeve done a little over two years ago and its been quite a ride... Just wanted to give a little insight on what its like for me a few years later and also get some feedback.
Now a days I go to the gym alot... I used to not have any energy but ever since I completely cut out any refined sugars I feel more energetic than ever and its funny how before after 20 min at the gym I was wondering when this eliptical hell will be over... and now, now I can just keep going and going and going...
Anyways, I can basically eat anything although there are certain foods that just kill me.. Dont know if any of you have any specific foods that are just murder for you.. but in my case any steamed rice or extremely fried stuff (as in french fries... i mourn for french fries) gives me really bad stomach pains... Do any of you get any pains from certain foods? Its ironic that I can sit down and scarf down a whole steak though... silver lining.
I also have to share that I developed an eating disorder after my surgery... I was somewhat bulimic (on and off) before my surgery and after it due to all the unintended vomiting it triggered the bulimia again and I ended up throwing up (intentionally) many times a week... Not good. I decided that I didnt end up going through such a difficult surgery just to screw up my body with some stupid disorder... so this Feb 14th I turned 30 and decided I was going to eat consciously.. make sure that Im treating my body nicely with nutritious food.. and obviously, not throwing up anymore..

Today is March 11th which means it will almost be a complete month without vomiting, without refined sugars, and going to the gym daily... and I have to say I FEEL SOOOO GOOD... It was hard for the first two weeks.. but hanging in there really helps. Now I can say Im very much latched on.. not just hanging by a thread.. and its extremely motivating to see muscles I had never seen before and to keep watching all these layers being removed from the body I knew I always had underneath.
Anybody that has had their surgery over a year ago? How are you guys doing?

I don't know how much of a personal bias a psychologist is supposed to inject into their analysis, but this does not seem very ethical or professional. You would be better served by getting a referral from your surgeon.

I can and have lost a good amount of weight on the "just stop" diet. Problem is, I couldn't ever maintain that lifestyle and KEEP it off. Now I physically can't over eat. Can I self sabotage? Sure, if I work at it. I have no illusions I can fail at this too if I allow it. Difference is, if I get a little off track weight wize its MUCH easier to turn it around now. I creep outside my maintenance zone, focus for a week and RECOVER rather than going further down the rabbit hole. I feel like I finally have a fighting chance at maintaining my health this time.

    Hi All-
Not much to report. My last 20 lbs are struggling. I keep loosing and gaining the same 3lbs. I've just recently started going back to he gym, I am trying to be more consistent with it. But it is not in my nature. I have to force that change. I weighed my self yesterday and I was at 167lbs. 150 is the goal. Nothing to do but keep trying!
