  1. Hi All, Well Im taking a respite from studying just re read chaper 1 again... ...and then onto the next one after my coffee break :bandit Teach, I can just imagen you popping the bread in your mouth, and thinking...omg..omg...what do I do:omg: , lol, I'm pleased you were ok. We have like discs that melt in your mouth for communion (bit like those spacers with sherbert in without the sherbert!) DynamoMini, me neither re weight loss, that why I thought Id give the scales a miss this week, lol. Ive had a few golf balls too, over the last two weeks (about 3 I guess) in my case, its because I havent chewed enough, you kind of forget sometimes, and boy do you remember fast again mdrai...cool, on the yard sale, I bet you were really pleased!! Pam, great to see ya back!! we missed ya! Its funny, but if I dont come on here, I actually miss it!! I think when Im at work (in secret) Im going to log on, especially once a day when Im working away! Hope your dissertations going well? I have 1 more week to study before my exam on the 14th :help: , at least it will be over, if I fail I have 1 more change to re do it again. But I'll give it all I can . Speak soon, Sara xx
  2. Hi Everybody Well Dave & I just did a 3+ mile walk...:faint: mind you we got the steam train back, I couldnt face another 3 miles walking on the way back, lol! Tracy, way to go at the buffet too, you conquored that one :clap2: Well Ive decided not to weight myself until next Sat am, when I go n see the Dr for my fill. Im also going to try and alter my food routien too, so that I have 6 small meals a day. So far today Ive had: 1. small bowl of fruit salad 2. 1 weetabix & milk 3. 1 small bowl of soup & crutons 4. Handfull of cashew (non roasted or salted) 5. Small bowl of beef stew (later on) 6. Small bowl of fruit salad (later on) plus I allow a milk allowance for tea & coffee..... I'll see how it goes, but it might just keep the hungry monster from my door Have a great Sunday Sara xx
  3. Terry...YOUR A STAR!!! Congratulations!!!:clap2:
  4. Jennifur, if your friends make you feel like that, in truth, they are either not real friends, or they are hurting, and they want you to feel as bad as them, or they are ill (psychologically) I had a friend like yours.....I ended up distancing myself from them, as they were not good for my health or soul.....why dont you try and distancing from this person for a while, it will make you feel a whole lot better. 1st you will feel grife and anger...but it will soon pass.....and then undersatnding that they are ill, but you cant let yourself get sucked into their emotional problems, it will make you feel very low. Sara xxx
  5. Jennifur...ok heres the deal.... I have a 17 yr old and a 20 yr old (nearly) I too have very similar problems...a lot I may add.. On my eldest daughters 18th...she did nothing....I catered for 18 guests, and by the end of the night I felt like death....unfortunately, so I am told by my 17 yr old, that 'mum, this is normal??? for my friends, & their bfs, to say and do what they want in my home is ok?? Jennifur, thank god I am not alone here. My eldest exepects us to support her and her BF after uni while she does another course?? All I can say is just say no.....which is hard, because you want your best for your babies........I can ramble all night about this. Why dont you say to your daughter, I want to give you the best B'day ever, but if you dont pull your weight, its not going to happen?? call her bluff......if she really wants it, she'll help. Im no one to advise really as I ended up doing all the work on my daughters 18th.....now that daughter whos 20 nearly expects me to buy her a car, pay her £20+K university and living costs.......is jelous of my youngest daughter, and expects us to pander to her every whim. and its my fault, cos I tried to give her the best....oh boy Jennifur.....lol....
  6. Corrrrrrrrrrr have you tried the chat room in here its great!!!!!!! Maybe when a few of us are on we could all try it and have a good old chat!!!!!! Its great!! Sara x
  7. Thanks Terry, re fill info. Im due for mine next Saturday, not looking forward to the 'needle' bit, but it will only be for a few seconds like you said, lol. Christy, how did the treadmill go, I now have visions of you kicking the *@** out of it as Lunasa asked...LOL.... Hey, talking of treadmills, Ive seen this gorgeous looking weight gym machine with this hunk sitting on it in the pics, I said to dave....I want one of those, LOL.....anyway weve got no where to put the thing even if we got it, our office is so crowed with office stuff, and a treadmill (you have to tidy the office before I can use any of the equiptment, because you cant swing a cat). But Ooooo the gym trainer equptment did lok good. Wouldnt it be nice if we could all have a specialised gym in our homes, and a hunky trainer 3 times a week :Banane43: Rvingdi, good to see you back again, hows it going for you? Sara xx
  8. Terry...P.S Wel done on the WEIGHT LOSS!!!!!!
  9. Hi Terry, Can I ask you a question about your fill too!! Ok, after the fill, did you have that 'fullness' feeling like we all had after surgery? I'm told its where the vagus nerve stimulates the brain to tell it your full, and with out us actually being ul (pouch capasity). I guess thats the optimum feeling , of satiety, and not feeling hungry, or ravenous, but actually not being able to eat much, if that makes sence. I know quite a few people say it takes them 3 fills, so Im curious if the 1st one gives you that 'feeling'? Have a great Saturday Sara xx
  10. LOL Lunasa, what on earth is it?? Ooo by the way, I thought your idea of carrying lavender is a good idea, re calming situations, umm I'll try it, and get some from a health food shop. Angie, your ticker is so funny!!!!!!! lol.. Pam, did you win the salsa compertion?? Lauralee, welcome to the mad April group!! Tracy I can just imagen you chatting away to all n sundrey at the Drs, lol, I think its great to be bubbly, and it makes people feel at ease!! Hey has anyone heard back how Terry is yet, after her fill? Kat, its great to here your words of wisdom, after banding and about the hormonal changes, that makes a lot of sence, why some of us are having a few whopping ups and downs at the mo. Well went swimming today with my mum, which was lovely, we had a good old chat, I dont see her as often as Id like, so Im going to make more effort. Sara xx
  11. Lunasa, it would be, lol, my mind was already on overdrive as I wrote it.....next summer, all stay in a hotel somewhere near shops too :fish: you know, thats my end goal treat, to go shopping over there!! I loved NY.....we could all have a group photo too....see my brains in overdrive again....lol!! Well Im off swiming with my mum now, we were going to go yesterday....so this will be my 3rd workout for May. Hmmmmm I think when I get fed up, I need to see that as a trigger to do exercise to snap my brain out of thoughts, I'll try it and see what happens?? Have a great Friday, Sara xx
  12. Awwwwww Lunasa You are right :fish: . I think most of the time were all doing great, its just now and then we have these lerking 'feelings' that knobble us, lol, Im going to have to train mine, lol. I wish we could all meet up, wouldnt that just be great!!!!!!! Now Im thinking, why dont we all meet up next year in America somewhere...LOL....see my thoughts just grow!! Sara xxxxx
  13. I LOVE IT Christy!!!!!!!!! LOL Ok, I'm singing it!! xxxxxx
  14. Thanks Terry.... Bless ya! I know its emotional with me, I've been at home a lot this week studying for my exam on the 14th. Thats kind of got me down a bit too, and loneliness, then I 'pigged' out on a magum and red wine....only myself to blame :fish: . But Im pleased this is a normal in comparrision with the Feb crew, at least we have got some serious weight loss to look forward too!! lol.... GOOD LUCK today with your fill, please tell us all about it, and what they do Terry, Im so looking forward to having mine done, I want to feel that 'fullness again' like we all had after surgery. Sara xx
  15. Aww Jenn we'll support you all we can. Just take one day at a time, your doing so well. I sure hope you get that job you applied for too, that will take your mind off it a bit. If it gets too hard down the line, Id phone them up though. Sara x
  16. I need to share my good news. I got the job I applied for. Yes, I now have 3 jobs, but this one is teaching online Master's level courses. I will probably resign from the junior college job next spring...I don't really need the money. Of course I will keep my "day job". Now, I need to finish my dissertation this summer. Anyway, I just found out and I am soooooo excited! Pam!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! Thats FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!! You clever cloggs you! You must be over the moon, gosh, goodness knows where that could lead too? I did a masters in independent practice in health, and passed in 03. It took me 3 yrs to do it, as I worked full time etc....but that feeling of elation at the grad ceromony..theres nothing like it!! You must be having that same feeling of proudness now. Wel done!!! I'm so excited for you :fish: Sara xx
  17. Thanks Tracy, last night I felt pretty low, I know I shouldnt haven eaten the magum ice cream, or red wine. We are on a learning curve, and I sometimes forget the factor Ive only had a band in a short while. I had hoped I would have lost more too; and I really hoped I wouldnt have to 'diet' again, which I have been for the last couple of weeks really. Right I'll pull my socks up...and hold my head high and do the best I can. Sara xx
  18. OMG..what has happened to this site?? I feel a bit uncomfortable with it?? I have a a seriously bad day re food wise :cry I mean I blew it big style, with food, red wine and a mint magnum. I feel so fed up, its like I went through all of this for what??? I havent lost any weight for over a week +..... I have a bracelet with no charms :think ....sorry folks I feel soooo fed up. Squale has lost 47lbs!!! I mean apart from eating thin air at water I dont know what to do. Im hungry all the time, Im thinking of food and drink....when I do try and eat food it comes back up, so I force it down, omg....I feel so low... Sorry,
  19. Janie, Go to your profile: then into edit profile...then delete in the signiture box the lap band tracker, then click preview and check its gone, then submit if its how u want the signiture to look. Sara x
  20. LOL Lunasa, ok were gonna give you an oscar :first: for your inspirational though for the 'Day'. It takes a lot of self analysing then the penny drops, but changing behavioural patterns and thoughts are so important for us right now. Thank gawd I can talk to all you guys, and its true we can be our true selves on here, beacuse of aunonimity (spelt wrong sorry). Launas...were all going to be wondering who your famous parent is now! lol! Hey actualy, thats not a bad idea having a 'thought or epilog of the day' .....I was musing through this little book called the little book of wrong SHUI...ok....here's mine for the day.... "Negative auras. The cleansing of.... .......If a man in a public house is annoying you with unpleasant blaggardry, cleanse his aura and calm him down by hopping round him on one foot three times and chanting the name of The Master -Eu Plon Ka- while pointing at him with a sacread Wrong Shui gesture of the fist with an extended middle fingure".........(acutally I should have passed that one onto Pam yesterday!) This little book is full of advice...LOL .....sorry folks I think Im a bit :kev: today?? Tracy- wow girl youve scored!! Your DBF looking at your 'bootie!!' Go girl....have you ever seen that singer dance...shekeria (or someone) thats what you need to be doing now....shake it!....
  21. Well, I've just done my second workout for May ! I think my mum and I are going to going swimming tonight so that will be my 3rd one :paranoid. Wooohaaa careful Sara... Dynamomini - I so hope you meet a wonderful partner in the near future, and you can wow him with your new sexy bod! Ooo by the way I saw you mentioned about eating chicken and rice.....uuugggghhhhh stay away from RICE!! Ive tried it now 3 times since being banded, holy moley, Ive eaten it with sloppy food, on its own, and with hard food, and each time I do I am sick...:cry ...Ive given up on it now! Its weird though, cos 2 days ago I actually managed a brown bread and ham & cucumber sandwhich, fine no problem, then yesterday...I choked on the bread...weird??? Jennifur - Good luck with the job interview today, fingers and toes crossed, I know it means so much to you x btw, your DBF will have a nice surprise too, when he see's ya working there Terry - I'm envious of ya with your hubby!! I agree with you and Pam, that hormones do play a major part in our psyhcological urges for food, I find emotions/frustrations to...infact any mood, lol!! Pam - I have NO restriction either, I'm dieting now, I try and keep under 1250 cals a day (trying is the word alright!) I dont get a fill till the 12th (just over 6 weeks after my op). Laura - wow your new house looks fabulous!!!!!! you lucky duck, I bet you cant wait for it to be finished and you can get in there and decorate it, and buy all gorgeous furniture! We had our house built 12 yrs ago now, the old house was over 40+ years old, and it was falling down, and we didnt want to move (as my mum n dad live down the feild from us) so we went for it, its one of the biggest acheivements that Dave and I have done. You and Teach are soooooo lucky to have hot tubs too, its too cold here in the UK, I mean you could have one here, but I think it would need to be indoors, or only used in the summer. Mind you it is getting hotter here, and spring came a month earlier than normal. Haydee - thank you so much for reminding me of the tell tell signs of the band again. Im ashamed to say I get that quite often. Yesterday I had a low fat califlower cheese bake, and it sat in my throat, but I still wanted to eat! I'm going to seriously take more notice from now on. Trouble is, sometimes I get so hungry, and I want to eat fast like I used too, and i cant (which is a good thing!) but its remembering that I cant!! lol Christy - good luck today at the Docs, I hope every things ok, let us know xx Pam, thanks for that link, its fantastic on the do's and dont's and all about banding, Ive saved it on my computer, so I can re read it again every now and again. Have a great day xxxx Love sara xx
  22. Tracy & Lunasa, I'll join ya sisters in the DH low libido....mine bought me a 'rampent rabbit' and now al he has to do is buy the batteries! Actually its no laughing matter, I get terribly sad over it, I pray that if I lose the weight he might find me more attractive. Sara xx
  23. Wooohaaa Lunasa, You hit the nail right on the head there Mrs!! Snap.... I hate being fat too, and I hate the 'thought' of others seeing me as a fat slobby person' AND IM NOT....but I feel that my body portrays me as this type of person, psychologically. And you know what, I am NOT going to let my fat beat me....jeepers kreepers....how many people are there, that diet for 20+ years, have over 15 diet books.....and go through surgery.....I am not gonna 'piss in the wind' anymore with my life....Lunasa...this is the year I am going to decide what I want !!! BUT....its hard....not physically, but mentally. I mean I have several areas I need to crack: 1. Weight....started on the journey 2. Exercise....started but I have to conquor the commitment 3. Smoking....(I feel like this is becoming an eternal yoyo diet senario) I have given up over 8 or so times....I have to find the door to get out of the loop.. 4. Work....I need a job that stretches my brain, BUT that doesnt leave me feeling that 'I live to work'....and continually work away from home....this is another 'biggie' for me.... If I can get those 4 areas of my life as 'I want them' to be then I feel I will have reached a 'balance' in my life..... So whats yours folks???? :thumb: Sara x
  24. Thanks... for the dierty ideas househuntress. I lost 4 1/2 stone on the SBD 2 yrs ago, then I did lighter life (and the list goes on, lol) but I found the SBD really good. Hey can I ask you guys a question??? What are the signs that the stomach is rebeling against food with the band?? Is it hicuping etc, does anyone know what the signs are to look out for? Cheers!!! Sara xx
  25. Sorry Ive not posted much, my head has been stuck in revision books, on pharamacology, pharmokenetics, dynamics, ateology...blah blah blah...its a good sleep inducer I've found!! Launas...I used to drink old perculiar when I was preggers (that was like guiness!!LOL) hey go careful on that stuff girl its high in the calories stakes.....LOL...we used to give it to patients on the wards years ago to get their (so called ) iron levels up...hehehe.... ihomeschool4....you poor thing going through that, as well as having the band, I really hope you feel better real soon. Prayers to ya xxx Goonabefree...I saw that documentary to, supersize me, gosh by the end of it he was almost killing himself on that stuff, it was scary at the damage it did. But as you were all discussing, I used to pull in at those places and get a drive-by-meal and eat it in the car so no one saw me, sometimes before a meeting, I must of stank of bugers!!! Teach...LOL I love your ticker! It made me laugh!!! Pam...I know what you mean about not thinking were big either, I also kind of deluded myself, I was not that 'bad' even though I am the biggest woman in the company (the others are all 'sticks') what really made me face my demons was when I started getting sleep apneona, and after 6 + months of that and difficulty breathing (huffing and puffing walking) I knew (and so did my hubby) realise that if I didnt do something asap, I was going to be in 'BIG' trouble. Thing is, its facing our problems initially thats hard, then the realisation dawns, then its like 'why the heck didnt I do this sooner' duhhhhh????? Terry....you lucky duck getting your fill this week, I cant wait for you to tell us how it was for you, (in detail please!! ) Mines not till Saturaday after next. I know what you mean guys about the 'starving factor' beacuse Im facing that too.....and goodies....last night....I kept singing the word 'Alcohol' to a tune I know.....Sophie thought I was turning into a father Ted figure...'DRINK....DRINK....DRINK' gawd I could of murdered one last night....but I'm trying not to drink now (I used to every day after work) now I'm trying only to have any booze only if we go out for dinner, or friends over etc (although I did have some white wine last Sunday, and promptly overselpt on the Mon am!). Smoking well, I am ashamed to say I am still smoking, the doc put me on those pills called zyban, 7 days later, I felt like my right side of my neck was going to explode, it felt like a artery was bulging and it was sooooooo painful, so I stoped taking them. I havent gone back to my GP yet, Ive decided to get this ***@!!! exam over 1st, then try other methods, so Im a bit of a failure in this so far. Well, have a great Wednesday folks Lots of Love Sara xxx
