Ok so today, yes I finally put my $500 deposit in the mail to Dr Aceves. I will be San Diego bound on November 19th surgery in Mexicali on the 22nd. I am sooo close yall. I am sooo exciited. I went from fearing my stomach being removed to...I cant wait to do the damn thing. Thanks to everyone on this forum you guys have made my decision easier. I can wait to be in the sleeve club. YEAH!!! YEAH!!!!!

I am a self pay person. Just when I made up my mind to go to Mexicali Mexico to have surgery with Dr Aceves, I hear about Dr Washington in SC. He is cheaper than flying to Mexico and I could drive. I am sooooo conflicted on what to do. Has anyone had surgery with him? I am not so sure anymore. WHAT TO DO?????

Your not alone. I have had second, third and fourth thoughts about this surgery. But deep down in my heart i know this is the best decision for me. Bump everybody else...Do u!!! It will be ok and a year from now you wont believe how far you've come. I wish u the best and soon enough you will be on the other side of onderland!!!

Dr Aceves is $8750. I think Kelly is around $5500. I am willing to pay the $3000 difference because his credentials just cant be beat in my opinion. I am a Nurse and I am looking for specific qualifications and standards that most people may not feel are important. Dr Aceves is the only one who seems to meet all of my criteria. He is F.A.C.S and that was big deciding factor for me. With him you spend 1 day at hotel and 3 days at Hospital. If u look on all the web sites I couldnt find one bad comment about him. I am sooooo nervous about any surgery because there are risk no matter what, I just want to be confident in my decision. So chose who you feel confident with. If u chose Aceves that would be great and I would see you in Mexicali cause I am having mine on NOV 22 we would be sleeve sisters, Nevertheless, its a great journey we both look forward to join.

Hi There, Your on the right site. There is a Self Pay Mexico forum on this site that will give you a lot of the information you need. I have been doing hundreds of hours of research and I am more than comfortable with my decision to have surgery in Mexico. I am going with Dr Aceves November 22nd. But there are other doctors such as Kelly and sum others that people talk highly of. So due your DD. Also go on obesityhelp.com and youtube and I am sure you will decide. Much success on your journey.

So sorry to hear about your major complications. I am curious to no how long after your sleeve did u develop the leaks. I also feel it is very relevant that u share your Mexican surgeon.I am one who is considering going to Mexico to be sleeved. It would be nice To know that good and the bad. There are many great post about some of the Mexican surgeons but we need to who may have a track record. This is a life altering decision every bit of information will help. Your the second person I've seen who had a leak months out from the surgery from a Mexican doctor. The other guy was 5 months out and said he went to Dr Aceves. Wow this is scary makes me have second thoughts. I wish u the best sending prayers up foru!

Was wondering if any others are going to Dr Aceves that day or week? I am so nervous and some times doubt my decision everyday. I just want the day to come and get it over with. NERVOUS!!!!

Wellll...u all have made some great points. Thanks teddybear that was cute. Im not so worried that it will cause harm. I get that this procedure has been performed for hundreds of years. I am more so worried that if something went wrong with the stomach that I am left with.....what then would I do? I no i have got to stop thinking the worst but, I cant help it. However, I am soooo tired of being fat, tired, and unhealthy I have to do something.. Thanks ya'll

I am new to this thread and I plan to have Surgery with Dr Aceves November 22, 2011. I have so many fears about losing my stomach. What if I need it years down the road.This is not reversible and it scares me that I will forever alter my organs , unable to change them ever again. Is anyone else ever felt this as a concern? I feel so overwhelmed about this surgery. I no that I need it but, I am afraid Im gonna back out. Does anyone have any information that would suggest needing this part of our stomach years later? I need help. I dont wanna scare myself out of having this surgery. UGHHHHHH........
