  1. Wow.. this is awesome! Post some recent pics! You are stopping aren't you? Do you want to lose anymore?

I don't have anything more recent than Christmas, how sad is that? LOL I have been fine with where I am since I hit goal. These are numbers I have never dreamed of seeing. Apparently down to 92 lbs is a healthy range for me but I don't expect that to happen.

  2. I LOVE to walk and talk but can't find anyone who will do it consistently with me and most of the time of the 5 people I have none can go which ticks me off! LOL Last night my hubby and I took the dogs through the park and I loved it - so did they! But he works nights and won't consistently walk with me either. I take what I can get with everyone, it just isn't much. I was thinking the TV thing might work, we don't have cable so if I can watch my shows when they are on instead of the next day on the internet it might be me going!

you are going to have to find something you enjoy doing or your not going to stick with it. i actually enjoy the elliptical, i have some awesome music i only listen to while working out, or i go to the gym while Law and Order SVU is on, and i can pedal for an hour without even realizing. There is Zumba, swimming, do you have any girlfriends that would walk and talk with you? buy a Wii or Xbox, they have all kinds of workout games that are fun, you can even buy them used at your local gaming store. I work out because to me the shape i want is worth the exercise. i want to be toned and ripped as much as i can on my year anniversary when they take my picture again.Good luck finding something that works for you

  3. You freakin' rock! I hope to be able to have the strength to get where you have. (then I worry will i keep it off? sigh, one step at a time) Congrats!

Sorry just saw this! Seems I get an email for everything except when people post in my blog?? LOL We can do this - we WILL keep it off!!!

  4. I loved seeing your results..even the + was impressive as you kept on going. Are your first 2 months unusual or do many lose that much? I'm preop and would love to have your success. Thanks for sharing. It is very encouraging and congrats. You are AWESOME!

Ack just saw this!! I think my first month was pretty typical but my second month maybe not, I most likely had my leak by then.

  5. Search http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ she has lots of protein ice cream recipes and she has these great little microwave protein cakes too - I like to make a chocolate one and then toast a slice and add peanut butter - it really helps with the bread craving! She also has pancake bites which are yummy. She doesn't put proteing powder in them but I did add a scoop of unflavord myself and it was still good - I made some with chopped up pepperoni (I didn't have bacon or sausage on hand) and YUM! She also has a ricotta panckae recipe - again YuM! All these things have really helped me when I craved something I shouldn't have - great healthy alternatives. She had RNY several years ago and her site is a wealth of WLS friendly recipes!

  6. There are a lot of different protein options out there, Nectar and Jay Robb are a few I use, and they are only 100-110 calories. I am down to one a day so figure around 200 calories for that. An ounce of cheese (or two) are 100-200 calories, chicken, lunch meat around 50-100, eat that a couple times a day. Maybe an extra glass of milk for fluid and protein. I usually hit around 800 calories a day, eating and drinking the whole time. If you are losing, you are fine. If you are concerned you are getting too many calories, you might talk to your nutritionist or look in to different proteins, some are made for people trying to gain weight or who work out very vigorously so they do have more calories. It sounds like you are newly sleeved. Do you use a tracking website? There is a large group of sleevers on myfitnesspal and sometimes it is nice to see what others are doing.

  7. J tube is the feeding tube that goes in to your jejunum/intestine. You can help prevent leaks by following your program rules but even that can't completely guarantee no leak. Mine was probably a missed staple. It stayed closed from swelling and eventually when the swelling went down it opened. A leak test before leaving the hospital won't show that, it takes several weeks for the swelling to go down. Be hyper aware of your body and anything that doesn't feel right, that's my advice!

  8. Oh my! I had no idea you were having all these problems! I am so sorry! Glad to hear you are doing better!!

I was sleeved August 8th and an abscess and leak was discovered in October. I have had a J tube since then. Just got the ok to start liquids yesterday as my leak is gone! I have a drain too. I think the tubes are so uncomfortable! Ugh! But like you, I am finally starting to feel more normal! Even the time before my leak I had no energy and felt yucky so it is amazing to me now how much better I feel!
