I get my first fill in about two weeks and wondering if I should get one. I watch my portions most of the time and eat every four hours or so. I sometimes get hungry before that time but not that often. Have still been losing.

Haven't had any fills yet, get first fill in a couple of weeks. I can pretty much eat anything I want, but have been limiting the amount. I eat mostly protein and then maybe some kind of vegetable. Protein keeps you feeling fuller longer. Sometimes a greek yogurt for snack. If I eat too much I get an uncomfortable feeling and also start hiccuping. I've heard it sometimes takes several fills before you feel restriction.

I was just banded on the 3rd of Feb, have Tricare south. Tricare required me to stay overnight in the hospital one night.

I've heard with the band you metabolize alcohol faster with the band, in other words you get drunk faster with less alcohol.

I was banded nine days ago and still on liquids. I have been getting hungry, but trying to fill myself up with low cal selections. Different soups that I put in the blender, protein shakes, watery cream of wheat, yogurt, decaf coffee, water etc. Can hardly wait for the mushy stage!

I think you have no choice but to get used to it. It is going to be a big adjustment for me also. I would drink constantly through my meal. It's not for just a couple of months, it's forever. You don't want the liquids to flush the food through your upper pouch too fast because then you will get hungry sooner.

Good luck. It's nice to hear from people that have had their bands for such a long time.

Surprised you can eat solid foods already. My doctor said I had to stay on any foods that would go through a straw for 3 weeks while everything heals and then go to soft mushy foods for another three weeks. After six weeks can eat anything as long as chewed well and tolerated.

I have tried the Unjury which you can also find on line. The flavors taste pretty good.

That's why I scheduled my surgery for January. Didn't want to have to explain why I was on liquids at any holiday functions. Good luck with the pre op diet, I start on January 1st. My doctor does let you have one meal as long as it is a protein like fish or chicken and a veggie. All these pre op diets are different depending on the doctor I guess.

Thanks for the update. I guess I have all this to look forward to. Hoping to get a surgery date in January.

I would try and stay away from the protein shakes and eat solid foods which keep you full. I work nights too and have a weird eating schedule. I don't have that much fill and I eat at least a cup and a half of food at meals and still have been loosing. I eat a lot of salads, I eat the meat usually chicken first and what is left in the salad until I feel I've had enough.
