  1. I was banded 11-10-11 and had my first fill this past week! I'm feeling great and just trying to figure out what I can and cannot eat!! It's weird to be learning to eat all over again! I can really tell a difference after the fill too!
  2. I was banded on 11/10/11 and have had some pretty bad gas pain since. I noticed in recovery at the hospital that I was burping a lot when trying to drink the Water they gave me. It was pretty funny at the time because I'm not normally a burper. It's not longer funny 5 days out. I have gas pain right above my top incision. I feel like it gets tight and I need to burp, but nothing comes out. I have to drink something sometimes to get a burp out. The pain isn't there all the time, but multiple times a day. I also have more gas pain at night and have a hard time sleeping. My sister was banded on 10/27 and didn't have these problems, so I'm a little worried something is wrong. I've been using those Gas-X dissolvable strpis and they help a little, but not much. Am i experiencing something that is not supposed to be happening? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help me get rid of all of this pain? Please help.
  3. Hey Matt- I was banded on 11/10/11 and a few things that I have depended on are liquid pain reliever, heating pad, Campbell's Soup at hand, green tea, Gas-X strips are a must, and sugar free Jello. I don't have much pain from the incisions, but I really feel like I need to burp and nothing comes out unless I drink something. The day of surgery and the day after surgery the heating pad was a must have. My back was killing me!! I like the Campbell's soup at hand because it still has some substance but nothing too solid. Hope I have been a little helpful!

    Help! Banded on 11/11/11

I was banded on 11/10/11 and have had a little pain. I haven't been hungry at all, but I've been forcing myself to drink soup broth every day. I like the Campbell's soup at hand. I've also been drinking green tea, and that seems to help too. My biggest pain is from the gas. I feel like if I could just burp I would feel a hundred times better, but nothing comes out. I've been using Gas-X strips that disolve on my tongue and that helps tremendously!!

    November Bandsters!!!

My twin and I are both having the lap band. Hers is scheduled Oct. 27 and I'm quickly following on Nov. 10. I'm super excited, but nervous too. I start my preop liquid diet Thursday and am afraid it's going to be quite hard. I've tasted the shakes my sis has been drinking, and I don't know how much I will be able to stand. I'm not really a "sweet eater." Anyone have any tips for a salt loving gal? I hope to get to know all of you well as we go on this journey together!! : )
