  1. congrats and welcome to our club!
  2. honestly i drink diet dr pepper, not fast just sips.the reason we are not suppose to drink it is because of the carbonation.I waited til i was about 2 months out, then I had some, man it never tasted better.i used to drink a good 2 liter a day,but i quit. i just get tired of water, even flavored water. so i tried it and it was okay.I will never drink as much as i used to. and the only difference between water with crystal light in it and diet soda is the gas,so I say why not, actually crystal light has calories in it 5 i think and diet soda 0 but thats up to you,I m not saying sure go ahead, just saying what i do
  3. I was originally going to get the band, because of the down time.(very minimal),but the surgeon that I was seeing at the time, btw all he did was lap bands, decided to close up shop and move to phoenix,he transferred me to my present surgeon.which was the best thing that ever happened to me.he discussed all the surgeries and told me all the ins and outs and I chose the sleeve, very happy i did
  4. Someone once said people cannot diet forever, and its very true. the sleeve is a tool that we use with other things such as exercise to help us lose the excess weight.i am three months out sleeved March 20th and have lost 53lbs since surgery. I am now allowed anything i want,I still gravitate to mostly protien, and seeing the results so far i tend to stay with what works.I do take all my vitamins and supplements as directed by my surgeon. and am very please with the results. And dont tell anyone but i do have an occasional diet dr pepper. the only reason they are a big no-no is because of the carbonation(sic), if you put it in a cup and let most of the gas escape, its not too bad on your stomach.I love the flavor of my soda.but it is a lifestyle change and youll have to learn to eat a new way,but its worth it
  5. I didnt get a drain either
  6. Im 5.1 and at.my heaviest weighed 353,at surgery day,I weighed337. Now 3 months later I weigh 284,(last time I checked).its been almost a week since I checked
  7. I am 3 montbs out and was told I have no restrictons in eating, but still need to get all my Protein first, that a priority
  8. Definitely wait til your incisions are completely healed. I only take showers,so it hasn't bothered me at all.but I know there are those who love their baths!
  9. I was told 15 before and20 after,I do try and stick to the after part, and like someone else said its really hard to get your protein and fluid intake in, when you have thise kjnd of restrictions
  10. There was an article recently in our local paper, had to do with one of our hospitals now doing bariatric surgeries. One of the lines in the opening paragraph said" because no one can diet forever".which when you think about it is so very true, thats why alot of plans dont work.

  12. I asked my surgeon about how some drs actually cancelled surgeries after theyve gotten inside and.found that the liver wad too large fir them,he was surprised, why out someone thru that. I say this because my surgeon and his partner do not require a pre op diet.i have said this before I ate like normal until the day before surgery, the day before ,reg Breakfast light lunch, and even lighter dinner and no food 12 hear before surgery, and im 3 mo.ths out lost 50 lbs so far.my surgeon said could actually do the surgery witbout the preop diet,I guess they chose not to,or think its necessary
  13. I was sleeved on the 20th,just had my 3 month post op yesterday and down 50lbs from surgery date.hes already suggesting in about 2 years cosmetic surgery, which I know I will need
  14. they should be with all the other frozen treats, they are where I shop.If you cant find them ask an employee
  15. sugar free popscicles also count at part of your liquid intake.I always flavored my water usually with crystal light,Now I like to drink vitaminwater zero. Good luck to you
  16. thats very true! I had the patch plus they gave me a nausea shot right before I went into surgery
  17. i took my cell phone, clothes to leave the hospital in,they had me bring my cpapmachine, but didnt use it,only spent one night.so really didnt need much
  18. im 5'1 and almost 3 mos postop and down 45 lbs from surgery day
  19. I was told by a few doctors that they were convinced I had sleep apnea,so I did the study,I never thought for minute that I had sleep apnea. they told me I did, still didnt believe it.I wasnt going to get the cpap machine, but was told I need to have it for surgery. So I got it and I had the hardest time using it,dont like things on my face, and then it would lose suction and I would have all this air blowing in my face, feeling like im being suffocated..I took it to the hospital and it was never used during surgery, And I havent used it since.I absolutely cant stand to hav it on my face.My insurance compnay paid for it,but does ask if you are not using it to return it and thats what im going to do
  20. i have a whole set,they are awesome
  21. my surgeon said not to weigh yourself everyday, because it is misleading, your weight flucuates daily, because of alot of reasons, hormones.different times of the day etc.and you might not lose punds but inches, what is the term?non weight loss victories. and watching the scale everyday can become obsessive and maybe alittle unhealthy
