  1. Good morning! I am just realizing that this is my last full week at work and this is my last weekend to get things done. My surgery is on the 27th. I started the liquids last Thursday and the first 3 days were not fun but since then it really has been okay. I have a lot more energy than I did at first and I'm back to walking again. I think has helped to get rid of all the cravings (sugar and caffiene mostly). Herbal teas have been my best friend this week. Good luck to the people getting banded today!
  2. I got in four miles this weekend. I'm on the 2 week liquid preop diet and it is really draining all my energy. I'm going to keep trying to get in the walking though.
  3. I am on day 3 of the liquid diet today and it was tough. I woke up hungry and had a shake then we went to the park and walked. By the time we got back in the car I was shaky and teary. Then this afternoon a close friend of the family passed away. It's been a crappy day, but I didn't cheat and I'm really hoping tomorrow is better. Hope everyone else's day was better.
  4. Good morning! I start my pre op diet today. I'm never hungry when I wake up but today....starving. Of course! Anyway I wanted to share a quick tip that I just discovered. I was looking for something to carry the protien powder in and I found my son's container that I used for formula. It has 3 sections and each section holds exactly one scoop of my protien powder. It has a spout that you can pour the powder through. I think we got his at Walmart in the baby section for a couple of dollars. Anyway.. I'm just starting so that's my only tip. Good luck to everyone having surgery today or in the midst of the liquids!
  5. I start my liquids tomorrow too. I'm getting nervous too. Good luck!
  6. I asked my doctor about this during my first pre op appt (at the request of my husband) he said "it depends on how crazy you want to get" but that nothing would be down in that area so whenever I felt like it was fine.
  7. I got in 3 miles last night. It was really pretty out and there are lots of leaves falling.
  8. For those of you who have had surgery and have kids, how long do you think I will need before I can pick up and care for my 15 month old? I have help for the first 5 days, but need to make sure I don't need to find someone after that?
  9. Congratulations on your new baby. I only got in a mile this weekend. It was a little crazy. I will try to add some mileage this week to make up for it!
  10. I start the preop on Thursday for my surgery on the 27th. I am having a really hard time not filling my week with last meals. The weekend was really bad. The week will be better because there is so much structure.
  11. Way to go! I can't wait to say that!
  12. I got in my 2 miles last night. I had to walk in the dark but I got it done!
  13. I only got in 1.5 last night because I was short on time but it was all hills so I still got a good work out!
  14. I'm in Kansas City too. I've walked the 5k several times on Thanksgiving. It's a great way to start the day. You won't be the last!
  15. I get banded in 3 weeks. Here's my list.. Weigh less than my husband! Chase my son around the park when he learns to run (he's conquering walking right now) Buy clothes because they look good not just because they fit. Cute boots! Wear cute panties without the front disappearing. Put on a dress and love it! Be able to ride the chairlift ride at the zoo with all 3 of us. Run a 5k without stopping. I need to print this and post it on the fridge.
  16. I don't start my pre op diet for another week, but I've been really working on laying off the sugar in the last couple of weeks. Last night I over did the sugar and slept horribly and woke up starving. Lesson learned. I cannot eat sugar late at night and probably shouldn't eat much at all.
  17. Good luck! Wishing you well!
  18. I got in a little over 2 miles today. I will update my ticker tomorrow. Thanks for the motivation!
  19. The 27th is my date too! Not too much longer!
  20. The 27th is my date too! Not too much longer!
  21. I got in 2 miles on Saturday and 2.5 on Sunday. I will do 2 miles after work when I take the baby to the park.
  22. I think our mom's might be sisters. I have to preface everything I tell my mom with "I don't want you to put this on facebook" .....

  24. I was teaching preschool before I started this job. I was up and down and out to the playground and moving more. This new job has definatly contributed. Its hard to sit all day and not munch! Although with the preschool there were a lot of preschool snacks around
