  1. Alcohol is really dehydrating. Make it difficult on the band because the body retains fluids.
  2. Ah... Tasmania... beautiful place to live.
  3. Watch the videos or buy a book and re-educate yourself.
  4. Sounds like constipation. Try Miralax to get things moving.
  5. Have you tried Unjury protein powder mixed with skim milk or unsweetened almond milk. A lot of the ready made shakes have an unappetizing odor. If you cannot find something you can tolerate, I recommend you reconsider the surgery until you do.
  6. Get the help you need. You need help with the eating binges, not the band, which I agree is probably too tight.
  7. Burping will help relieve the gas, and is perfectly normal. By the way, 2 pounds in 5 days is terrific. What did you expect? At that rate you would lose 146 pounds in a year. We did not obese overnight and we cannot expect anything to reverse it overnight! Keep the faith!
  8. I disagree... the sleeve procedure cuts away stomach tissue permanently. I have the folded in plication with the band and have been very successful.
  9. What is a Tassie?
  10. This is place for tips and advice.n If you have serious medical issues though... call your doctor.
  11. I definitely agree with Cheryl. Unless you were told not to eat veggies for some reason, eat them in small portions with your protein. Call your nutritionist for more ideas. You can't drink protein only for the rest of your life. You need real foods, just make good choices... hence the nutritionist. If you don't have one, call your surgeon for help in finding one.
  12. Congratulation Hynita on your success!
  13. Log your food and weigh portions. Our eyes can deceive us at times. You may find that you are actually eating too few calories and your metabolism is holding on for dear life. Good luck getting back on track. n We all have plateaus.
  14. Want power is key! You really have to want it to make it happen!
  15. I think the protein shots taste horrible. What a terrible thing to force yourself to do. On the protein shakes... don't drink all 8 oz at once. If you drink 3 oz an hour during waking times you will get your needed protein. Don;t force large volumes at one time. Sip, sip, sip!
  16. You are normal! We all went through this stage. Good news is it gets better daily! Hope your Mom improves soon!
  17. Every journey has hills and valleys. The trick is to stay on the straight and level as much as possible. Ongoing setbacks lead to more setbacks and a mind set that says...see I cheated and nothing bad happened. Please stick to you proscribed eating protocol. Best wishes on you continued Journey.
  18. Yay for the both the scale victory (onederland) and the NSV clothes from express! Keep up the good work.
  19. Great well balanced article Jean! Thanks for help remind us all of our part in this equation!
  20. Good luck to you all... the post op diet is no picnic either, but even more important than the pre-op to let your body heal. Good luck to you all!
  21. Welcome to Banded life! Happy to have you join us. We are here for questions if you need us!
  22. I agree... your daughter is far to young for you to worry, but do try to improve her diet to healthier stuff. You may have to take food to your mother's house at first, but she will get the idea eventually. Do not say anything to your daughter... just change her snack options.
  23. Congrats on getting a date. Welcome to the forum. We will be here is you and Mom ever have a falling out! Just Joking. Best wishes on your surgery!
  24. Keep up the good work! You rock!
  25. Just remember FL not always warm in winter. 47 two days ago!
