  1. Thanks! My meal plan is to limit carbs to breakfast or lunch but other than that I eat everything. The only real rule I follow is to stop eating the minute I start to feel full. I walk/run for 1 hour three times a week. I wasn't really exercising early on. I am going to get about 10 pounds of excess skin removed from my lower abdomen later this month thats been hindering my running. I am hoping to increase my workouts once I'm all healed.
  2. Thank you, Ma'am! I appreciate it and never get tired of the compliments! How are things in the Bluegraas state this afternoon?

  5. GOOD LUCK!!! Thanks for the kind words and yeah..My eyes were dead......I pretty much felt that way. Not any more though!
  6. Thanks so much for the compliments and well wishes. My symtpoms were SEVERE fever (103.5) and I was shaking and shiver quite violently. I was also a bit nauseous earlier in the morning. I was told to go to the hospital immediatley but I just took a bunch of tylenol and went to sleep ($%^#@$ IDIOT!) That little peice of laziness almost cost me my life. I was a rare case for that complication...lucky me!! lol But the complication wouldn't have been so well...complicated if I listened to my doctor. So for anyone about to get sleeved my piece of advice for pre and post op is listen to your body. It knows when your well and it knows when your not. It knows when your hungry and knows when your full...(sounds like Santa Claus) It was the best thing I ever did. If anyone has anymore questions, feel free to ask.
  7. Hello all! I haven't been on here in quite some time. But I wanted to drop a hello for my one year anniversary of getting sleeved. It has been an incredible journey. I did have a complication that was made more serious due to my own stupidity. I developed an infection that led to a leak in my zipper line. It would not have been as bad if I didn't wait almost a full day to go to the hospital. Without getting into too many details I almost went into cardiac arrest and had my organs completely shut down on me. I spent the next two months in the hospital. OK now that the scary part of the story is out of the way, I am here to tell you I would do it all over again. In one year I have lost 255 pounds!!!!! I went into surgery on Aug. 30th weighing in at 505 lbs. I weighed in today at 250 lbs. I have never felt so good in all my life. I am at the gym three times a week and am eating pretty much anything. Carbs fill me up really quick though but I am nowhere near as hungry as I used to be. I get filled very quickly. As long as I listen to my body and don't eat junk all the time the weight comes off. You can treat yourself every so often, but I dont feel deprived or hungry. I will cut this short now, but if anyone has any questions feel free to ask. My only regret is I didn't do this sooner.

  9. I am two weeks pot-op and had an egg with some cheese today. I got some wicked heartburn. Is it safe to take chewable Rolaids or Tums? :crying:
  10. I have been moved to pureed foods, baby foods and crushed meats! OH HAPPY DAY! :thumbup1: Any good suggestions or recipes?
  11. In two weeks out tomorrow and wanted to know when would be a good time to start walking for wieght loss reasons? I dont want to push to much too soon and just would like an idea as to what would be good to start with. Thanks! :001_smile:
  12. It's gonna be great! I am just about two week post-op and things are going really well so far. Bring positive into the OR with you and you will take it out of there as well. We are all here for you. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!! GO GET 'EM!!!!
  13. Thanks for the info. There is no swelling at all in fact my legs are very thin....and whatever it might be, I think it's getting better. The pain has been steadily decreasing and today it is almost gone. But I will keep an eye out for swelling and such. Thanks!!! :001_tongue:
  14. About a week post-op I started getting a pain in front of my left calf. At first I was worried it was a blood clot, but my doctor said you don't get blood clots in front of your leg. He said it was likley shin splints due to the weight loss in my legs. Has anyone else had this and what did you do for it?
  15. Just the one week. I lost an additional 20 pre-op. So 55 total.
