  1. Thanks! Wow. You are lucky. That is great. I hope I am as fortunate.
  2. Thank you for the tips. You have been very helpful. This is my first surgery so I am a little nervous. I think I have a clear understanding of what to expect now, though. I also looked at a few surgery videos on youtube.
  3. Oh wow. I hope everything works out! I had my testing done on the 1st...EKG, chest x-ray, and blood work. I hope my results come back ok. When did you have the EGK done?
  4. Hi Lisa! We have a few things in common. I am located in NYC also. My suregery is on Monday too. Best of luck to you! My timeline: Pre-testing: 9/1/11 Pre-op diet: 9/7/11 (5 days of liquids) Surgery: 9/12/11 I will find out the time of the surgery tomorrow night. Maroon, that is great that you are starting the liquid diet early. The 19th is right around the corner. Good luck and keep us updated.
  5. @ Savinggrace - Thank you! @ Peguinlover - Thanks! Fortuntely my surgery got moved up one week. I am having the prodecure done on Monday, the 12th! @ Krystle - Thanks for the info. I feel ready. I will not hesitate to take more time off from work, if need be. @ Amy - I will check out some youtube videos. That is a good suggestion about the mouth spray. I will add that to my list. Thanks. I hope I don't end up with too many incisions. Today I completed my first day of Clear liquids. It was rough but I got through it. Each day I get a step closer. I can't wait!
  6. @ emily_0192010 - Best of luck with your surgery and your VSG journey. I am sure you will be successful. I am so ready for Monday to get here! I am getting excited. LOL @ Sittingpretty. How tall are you? @ summertymer - Wow. A two week pre-op liq diet is quite a long time. I have seen others have to do that as well. Then I come across some that only have to do a two day pre-op diet or some ppl who don't have to be on one at all. I guess it depends on the doctor. My pre-op diet is 5 days. That will feel like forever for me! LOL. It begins tomorrow. @ Krystle - Thank you so much for sharing. I am glad to hear you are progressing. I am only taking 1 1/2 weeks off of work. September is a hectic month at my office. I wanted to have the surgery done it August, but the timeline didn't work out as planned. I hope I will be feeling up to going back in by that time. If not, I am sure my manager won't mind. I'll just bring in a doctor's note. What was the glue used for...to seal the wound? Did you have a drain inserted? I saw someone else mention that in a different forum board. I plan to bring all of that to the hospital. Thank you for the tips.
  7. Thanks! Yes. It looks like we have a few things in common. I would definitely like to know how your journey progresses.
  8. We "September Sleeve Siblings" will do great. I am here, for support, all the way! @ Shoppingbeemom - Thank you! Keep me posted on your progress. @ TeriL - I am holding up pretty well. The nerves got a hold of me at first but now I am enthused and eager to have the surgery. I purchased a bunch of broths from Trader Joes and got some sugar free ice pops. I also ordered a couple Protein powder samples. Now I need a few diet drinks (like snapple and crystal light), eletrolight enhanced Water, some gas x for the hospital and some liquid or chewable Vitamins. My pre-op liquid diet starts on Wed. I am pretty proud of myself for not over indulging with food lately. I am not suffering from the "last meal" syndrome, thank goodness.
  9. How is it going so far? How long did you take off from work?
  10. Good luck with your surgery!! Mines got moved up to the 12th!!
  11. I recommend cardio and a high protein, low carb diet.
  12. YIKES!! UPDATE!! - I had my surgery pre-testing done today. Everything went well. I lost 3 bls since Aug 2nd and my blood pressure it good. The shocking part of the update is this: my surgery date has been moved up one week!!! It is now the 12th...a week from Monday. I am excited but also nervous. I have to talk to my manager about switching my time off right now. Also, I have to get stuff for my pre-op diet which will start on Wed. This threw me for a loop. I am still shocked...
  13. Good luck loosing the 20lbs!! I am sure you can do it!
  14. Hi! Congrats on finally getting your date. I am scheduled to have mines on 9/19. How much weight do you need to loose in one month....15 lbs?
  15. Congrats on getting your surgery date. I am scheduled to have mines on 9/19/11, in NYC. Best of luck to everyone!
