Hi there! Congrats on your pending surgery! I'm 5 years into my loc journey and I haven't give much thought to the possibility of losing my hair. I purchased a bottle of Biotin which I plan to start taking once I move to the solid food stage. I'll adjust accordingly if my hair starts to fall out.
