I can not say that I agree with most of this because 1 you can be at your sweet spot and still be hungry. 2. You can out eat your band no matter what and if you eat too much sweets or junk food you will not lose weight. 3. If you dont exercise you wont lose weight or if you do you will stop eventually. This is not realistic of the band and I think that most people that post on here are the ones that are realistic not these two people that wrote the article. I think darn well if you dont diet you are setting yourself up for failure. Yes you most certainly can eat as much as you want if you really want too. Because slider foods will slide right down and you can surely eat more than 2 ounces of them. You have to pay attention to what your eating or you are setting your self up for failure big time.

Cheri I am not going to continue this conversation with you because it is ridiculous that you must keep it going. Do what is best for you and everyone the same I was not trying to scare anyone I dont see any post that point that out. Its so sad that you have nothing more to do than badger posters of which I have seen more than once from you just because you dont agree with them. Move on its not that deep really it isnt.

Ummmm no one is the lapband police but if your vomiting every single day then that is not normal. Yes on occassion and that should be rarely if something gets stuck it may come back up but you should not be vomiting everyday ever and if you are then you need to talk to your doctor. Whom ever thinks it is normal then you need to tell your doctor that your vomiting every single day and see what he says I am sure he will not be happy about that.

The longer you take to lose the longer you will be able to keep it off. Slow and steady wins the race its not about losing fast its about losing effectively and being able to keep it off once at goal

I think I can read elcee and the anatomy meaning where the organs are placed not the size of them. I think I know anatomy since I have been in the medical field for 25 years. Everyones stomach is the same size.

Well I have been stuck at 70lbs since I quit smoking last May but I never had a fill until a year out. Thats the trouble with getting fills so quickly because now you have nothing to work with. I would say maybe go get an unfill for a while then go back to getting fills again. Do you still have restriction? Are you eating a lot? Just some thoughts. I only have 3 cc's in my band at a year and 4 months post op. I wont get another fill for a very long time.

You havent done the wrong thing you are going to be weak how can you have strength on liquids only. I would say occupy yourself with something so you wont think about food. I dont really know that the obession with food ever gets better because we all have that issue however I do know that if you occupy yourself then you wont think about it all the time.

Its not the bypass cheat foods are not going to make you sick. You have to have some control in the matter. Why did you have surgery if your going to continue to eat cheat foods and especially a few days post op. Now should be the time you are getting yourself ready for this journey by sticking to your diet the doctor gave you. If you cant do it now how are you going to do it later. The band will not stop you from eating anything until maybe later when you have fills. It wont stop you from eating cereal, Cookies, chocolate, doritos YOU have to stop you from eating that. Yes you are going to be hungry but you have to suffer through to get the most of the following weeks post op

I didnt have any preop diet and your liver does not shrink that is a lie. Everyones liver is the same size unless you have a liver condition. Every surgery I have seen everyones liver and stomach are the same size no matter how fat they are. It is just the drs way of making you do liquids and be miserable for two weeks before surgery. Eat and enjoy yourself until the night before the night before surgery.

I really dont give a rats ass what any of you think. First of all I have worked in surgery with bariatric surgeons and have watched many surgeries. Every single persons liver and stomach were the same exact size. Yes there is fat there but its not the organ its self. Dr. Paul Wizman who is a bariatric surgeon performing well over 3,000 surgeries, Dr. George Webb, Dr. Deperi and the whole north florida surgeons group said that no matter how obese any of their patients have been their liver and stomach have been the same size. Most preop diets are to prepare you for the obvious after wards. There are many surgeons that dont require a preop diet. It surely is not to shrink the liver. Your organs dont shrink they may lose fatty tissue around them but they do not shrink. If your organs shrink you would not be able to live. Seems that I am not the only one opinionated. Since you all like to ball bust people for their opinions seems your not much better. I have a right to my opinion which comes from knowledge not google look ups. I post what I know for fact. I dont care if you dont like it or what ever it is a public forum and if you ask a question then expect an answer and it doesnt matter if you like it or not.

I think you as a wife are not being honest one bit. You surgery is 20 days away and you havent told him as of yet. So if he gets pissed and doesnt want you to have it because you never told him then what are you going to do. You are going to go the day of surgery with an angry husband and I dont blame him if he is angry at you because you should have told him long before now. Its like sneaking around when your husband should be your best friend, your confidant. How can you go around feeling okay when all this time in a way you have been deceiving him. I dont know your husband but if he is upset with you you have no one to blame but yourself.

If you went to a seminar they would have told you that you have to have 6 months of supervised nutritionist, 6 months of seeing your general physcian then your physician has to submit a letter of necessity for the surgery. Most insurance companies are going to deny you if you have not done all the steps necessary its their way of discouraging you. So with that being said you need to start first with the seminar of a bariatric surgeon and start seeing your doctor monthly for six months and no loss of time in between.

Even if you can eat or drink at the same time you shouldnt from day one. You are not supposed to drink 15 minutes before a meal or 30 after a meal after surgery.
