  1. It is your signal you are full. Its the band pressing on the nerve.
  2. You pcp has to write a letter of medical necessity if they dont then the surgeon can not do anything about it unless you are self pay then you dont need all those hoops.
  3. You dont want to wake up with breathing problems that is why they ask you to stop a month before. You want to go in to surgery as healthy as possible. But I want to throw something out there also. I was a smoker before I had surgery, I quit the month before and after surgery I went back to smoking. When I lost my first 70lbs I decided to quit for good and my weight loss completely stopped for a year I gained 20lbs back. I would suggest and this is only a suggestion if you quit smoking for the month then dont go back after surgery. Once you quit smoking people always gain weight. I had hell getting my weight loss to kick in again after I quit but eventually it did work.
  4. I love bananas but if you are going to work out I would think a protein shake would be more beneficial then a half of banana.
  5. I would never let that stop me from going on vacation. Me and my husband travel often. I just dont eat things that I know will be a problem. I dont think I have ever had a stuck episode while on vacation its when I am home I have the most. Hope you enjoyed it anyway.
  6. Dont be embarassed embrace the new you and post the pics, that way you can go back and look at what you had become and what you are now and what you will be in the end. We all were big it's no reason to be embarassed. You are doing something about it.
  7. Flu season was over the 1st of april. I work for a large hospital system and flue season runs from october 1st to march 30th. If you are still giving new recruits flu vaccines then you are wasting money lol
  8. 6954 Keep it going we might get to a ton.
  9. Flu season is over. You probably have some other kind of bug. Hope you feel better soon. Drink lots of fluids get some powerade they make it without sugar now.
  10. The band is made of silicone so it is highly unlikely that your body would reject it.
  11. Get some Mag Citrate that will blow you out lol
  12. Unfortunately if you are going to have sagging skin you just will. There is nothing to prevent it. It depends your you skins elasticity as to whether you will have sagging skin or not.
  13. Well it wont be enough for a while. You will get back to normal hopefully soon.
  14. Being on high protein in its self will constipate you. Prune juice works great without laxatives if you can stand it but I always laughed at my mother when I was young when I saw it in the fridge and now I have it in mine lol. Miralax is okay too but sometimes takes too long for me. I use peri colace (the generic version) its rarely that I don't need something to go.
  15. The tiredness will go once you start eating protein. That is also a sign you will know when you are not getting enough.
  16. I think you should listen to your doctor. He may be wrong or right but none of us should answer this question for you. We could give you a very wrong answer and it would not be right to advise you medically.

Great job. So glad you know it takes patience. Everyone needs to learn that. You are doing awesome.
  18. Date nights are the best and all married people should do it no matter what. We do it often and it is so much fun.
  19. It often really is quite distressing when people say you're rude when in all reality they do not know you personally. I'm not pulling any punches because I did not get where I am being coddled, eating crap or puking up my guts. I got where I am because I followed the instructions given to me and continue to do so every single day give or take a few but you know where I'm coming from.
  20. Hang in there you will get what you have been waiting for. It may take longer but look what you have to look forward too.
  21. When people fall in love they are head over heels with each other. They can't get enough of each other and decide we are in this for the long haul. As time goes on life changes and that in love feeling changes to a new love. People have to work at it because if it goes stale then the only thing that happens is either divorce or break up. People don't stay married for 50 or 60 years because it was always easy. Work, children, stress and everything in between come in to play and if you give up then you are giving in. When you choose to have weight loss surgery you are entering in a new relationship. In the beginning you are all gung ho over the band, bypass, or sleeve because you are getting results. Then your weight loss starts to deminish, it goes slow and that feeling of giving up plagues many. That in love feeling with your band becomes stale and sometimes obsolete. To keep your love alive with your band you must make an effort to have a healthy relationship with it, not give in because the going gets rough or you're not losing as fast as you want too. You have to change up your diet and not give in to eating the same old boring foods day in and day out. If you don't work with it or for it, it won't work for you. We had a good relationship with food before the surgery so you now have to have a good relationship with food now that you have the band. The only way that you are going to let this make you or break you, is your determination that your relationship with the band is going to be ever lasting. We don't give up on our children because they don't behave well, we don't give up on our jobs because they stress us, we don't give up on our loved ones because they are ill and we can't give up on our bands just because at the moment the scale won't move or we are having a hard time in life, stressed, dealing with things that we don't want too that would make us eat before. Our relationship now is different. It will in time give you life, health and happiness if you are willing to stay married to it for the long haul. If you want the band to work, then develop a loving healthy relationship with it. Don't let it get stale. Keep your momentum alive and think about why you did this. It is only up to you and you alone to make this relationship work. If you don't then you will be right back where you started. It's not always easy to have a new relationship but it's not impossible to have a healthy relationship with food. Love yourself enough to make this work because the benefits are priceless. If you ever doubt that you can't or won't succeed then its up to you to know that you are worth more then that.
  22. sounds to me like you have a slipped band. I would call your doctor asap
  23. You are always going to find people who are against any weight loss surgery. I tell everyone so they can see the success I have been. Then they can't say one thing bad to me now. I think people are afraid to tell people that they had surgery in case they fail at it but that should just be more incentive to make you prove them wrong.
  24. Good for you and congrats. I am three years post op and love my band too.
