Tips For Eating Slower !
Right after surgery I used baby spoons and appetizer spoons and forks. It helped me take smaller bites and eat slower. You can also count your chews, atleast 20-30 chews each bite.

November Sleevers 2011 Roll Call Shoutouts
I was sleeved Nov. 4. I had a great recovery, no pain at all. I've lost 37 pounds total. I just started working out at the gym this week and it felt great. I can eat just about anything, even salad. I still struggle with my brain not knowing portion control. I look at food and think, that's not enough when in fact it's too much. So I have to measure everything I eat. Soup I can eat about a 1/2 cup but tuna or other meat is 1/4 cup or less. I use myfitnesspal and log all my food. I stay at 700 calories and usually get between 50-65 grams of protein. I need to work on the protein. Wondering if I should be increasing calories on work out day. Still the best decision I've ever made and I am loving life right now.

Well...i Guess I've Messed Up....
Think about that motivation you had right after surgery. You lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time. You can do it again. Re-read your diet instructions from the surgeon and follow it to a T. You can do this.

What Inspires You?
What motivates me is that no one in my family lives to be 70 years old. They all have died of diabetes or cancer. All the women in my family were over 300 pounds and all were diabetic. I was 257 post op. I have always enjoyed working out but could never keep the weight off. So my motivation is to break the cycle of obesity and diabetes in my family and have a long heathly life for my kids and someday my grandkids.

3 Days Post-op And No Gas! Should I Be Worried?
I never had any gas or gas pains. I had no pain at all and had a great recovery. Consider yourself lucky and enjoy. I was expecting the worse and it never came.

Food Finds
Hy-Vee has the pb2 in the organic section and is probably cheaper if you have that store near you.

Do You Order From The Kids Menu?
Our family went to Red Lobster last week and my daughter order steak and shrimp. I ate the shrimp and a few bites of salad. I order off the kids meal at some places. They don't seem to mind.

What Is Your Favorite Meal After Being Gastric Sleeved?
I love to make eggface's egg bites (they are made in a mini muffin pan). I make a batch of 24 on Sunday and its my breakfast on the go all week. I eat 3. I've made the ones with ham and cheese, sausage and cheese, and turkey pepperoni and cheese. They are so good. BBQ turkey mini meatloaf is another one I love. You use a regular muffin pan and they are the perfect size.

Low Calorie Frozen Meals
Something even better I found is making your own meatballs. I got one recipe for bbq meatloaf muffins. They are made in a muffin pan and the perfect size. Delicious. I either got the recipe here or OH. I also bought frozen turkey meatballs to keep in the freezer but they weren't as good as the homemade.

How Many Calories Should I Eat In Order To Lose Weight?
I think we had surgery about the same time. I haven't lost as much as I thought I would either but it is slow and steady. My days sound just like yours, loss a pound then nothing for 2 days, lose a pound then nothing for 3 days. I eat about 700 calories a day and between 60 and 70 grams of protein. I was also wondering about eating enough and how much when excercising.

How To Know When You Are Full? Eating first real food after my Gastric Sleeve Surgery
I'm just over 5 weeks out and I still measure almost everything. For me, I know I can't eat more than a total of 1/2 cup, if it's meat it's more like a 1/4 cup. If I don't measure I tend to get full just all of a sudden and then it's a little uncomfortable.

Bra Recommendation
Good to know I will get some too.

Traveling To Mexico Alone For Gastric Sleeve Surgery
I felt great and didn't sleep during the day at all so my dad and my 19 year old daughter who went weren't bored at all. They even walked around the area of the hospital and down to the ocean which was just a few blocks away. They had a great time and I was so glad they went. But if you go alone, you will be fine also. You will meet others having surgery.

Nutrionist In K.c.

Do You Believe Things Happen For A Reason?
Your kindness will be returned. Good luck in your journey and hopefully you will be sleeved soon. It is worth the wait but that doesn't make the wait any easier.

No Straws After Gastric Sleeve Surgery...
My doctor says no straws because it allows too much air in your stomach. I miss them too but figure its a small price to pay. It would be nice for the protein shakes though.

Dr. Kelly And Trish- New Info?
I was at the old hospital and hotel, which were nice. So I don't know anything about the new ones but I'm sure they are nice or Dr. Kelly wouldn't use them. Dr. Kelly was awesome, came to my room as soon as I got to the hospital even though he was in between surgeries. He came to see me at night before he went home. My daughter and dad both went and the driver picked my dad up every morning at the hotel and brought him to the hospital. He came back every night and took him back to the hotel. His name is Richardo, he was the one who picked us up at the airport and took us back. He is very sweet and funny, super nice guy. I loved the entire experience and would do it again in a minute. Dr. Kellys office number is 619-793-4869. His email is jrkelly45@hotmail.com. I used Linda at alighterme and she was very helpful I even called her from Mexico.

Dr. Kelly And Trish- New Info?
I had surgery with Dr. Kelly on 11/4/11 and he is now using a new hospital and a new hotel. Whereever he is, it's worth it. He is the best. I had a great surgery and an awesome recovery.

Im Scared, Pre-op
We were all nervous, that's normal. I was especially nervous going to Mexico for surgery, but it was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I feel like I have a whole new life and I'm loving every minute of it. I had no pain, no gas, felt like I didn't even have surgery.

I Have To Pour My Heart Out....
Likasulema, my surgeon had a nutritionist that came to the hotel to visit me and give me some info. but I've tried calling and emailing him with no response. My personal dr. is on board with the whole thing and said to come to him for followup and he would check my labs and help any way he could.

I Have To Pour My Heart Out....
Awesome story, made me cry a little. My daughter is also overweight and she went with me to Mexico for my surgery. I am hoping she will consider this while she is young and have all the healthy years ahead of her.

Water while working out
I'm four weeks today and I noticed a few days ago that I've been drinking like before the surgery. At first it was small sips but I can drink normally now and take bigger drinks with no problem.

Tae Bo
I love Tae Bo and it gets easier if you stay with it. But I got a video for hip hop dance and OMG, it is a true work out. You feel it everywhere and of course dancing is fun. I just a Biggest Loser workout but haven't tried it yet.

Which Vitamins Do You Buy For Post-op Vsg?
Great question. Is there a chewable calcium citrate that isn't disgusting? Is there a liquid for it? I got a chewable from the Vitamin Shop and it is so gross, very sour.
