  1. Thanks.. I really do think its the dehydration doing this.. I am trying to sip more Water now. Thanks to everyone who posted a suggestion for me. Tammi
  2. I am still on all liquids with the exception of yogurt and soft cheese. I havent eaten those today. I had a very small peice of cheese 3/4 ounce yesterday and it took me an hour to eat it.... that was at 6pm. I didnt have trouble with that. I am nauseated in the morning on an empty sleeve. I drink a little Water and then a few ounces of decaf coffee. Didnt help. I tried the decaf because its warm. I tried to drink my Protein shake and doesnt feel very good either. I think today is just an off day or something. I havent tried any solid food yet with the exception of a tablespoon of refired Beans (special circumstance and the litte peice of cheese. I think I may be a little dehydrated.
  3. I am exactly two weeks post op and today I am feeling nauseas. I took the nausea meds and my PPI but nothing has worked. I am at work but its not easy being this queasy...lol. Not really funny. I was better last week than this one. I hope I feel better soon today. I dont want to be nauseated all week. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am on full liquids plus dairy, like cheese, skim milk, cottage cheese, greek yogurt. Thanks.. Tammi
  4. I am in week three post op and I am still on full liquids plus cheese, greek yogurt, skim milk, cottage cheese. Next week I start on soft food and I am supposed to get 80g of protein!!!! I can barely eat a half ounce of cheese right now! I dont know how I will manage that. I guess I will have to drink Protein shakes too!
  5. I think you will be fine too. I had surgery on a Monday, home on Wednesday and back to work on Monday. Worked 8 hours a day for the whole week. I have a desk job kinda only easier. It wasnt too bad. Just a little tired, so I sat a lot. Good Luck!
  6. Congrats on your surgery! I am sorry you are in pain. I didnt have a lot of pain after surgery. I was hospitalized for two days and on morphine pump for surgery day and the next. They took it out the second day and sent me home with lortab liquid and phenergan. I never took it. I was only sore, no real pain that required meds. It does get a lot easier to get up and down in the days to come.. did your dr give you pain meds? Tylenol easy tabs work well also.
  7. I had surgery the same day as you! I have not moved on the scale for a couple days either. I saw my dr and NUT today and she said that Protein was the key to it. I need to get as much protein in and that will help get the scale moving again. She also explained that our bodies are in shock and need time to adjust to each phase. Be patient! WE ARE GOING TO LOSE ALL THIS WEIGHT!
  8. I was told today that if I can drink it through a straw I can have it, only dont use a straw... I dont think I could puree meat to that consistency. I am dying to have something besides Water and flavored water though.
  9. I just came from my two week follow up from surgery. My doctors orders are one week clear liquids, one week clear add protein shakes and the third week I can add cheese, yogurt, milk, cottage cheese plus full liquids... anything that I COULD drink through a straw, just dont use a straw (purees). Weeks 4 and 5 are soft foods. Then at about 6 weeks I can add raw veggies. Then after 8 weeks I can add nuts, seeds, shrimp and ham (not deli). I am so excited that I can start eating cheese and milk and yogurt! Wooohooo!
  10. I was on my preop for one week. I had protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and 3oz of meat and green veggies for dinner. I lost 9 pounds that week. I am 5'4" tall and my starting weight was 234. I was 225 day of surgery. Hope that helps!
  11. I was sleeved on 8/8 about two weeks ago. I have been back at work all this week and doing okay. I am tired but its better every day. I dont really have any pain just a little tenderness at my incision sites... all 6 of them. I asked my dr. before surgery what size bougie he used and he doesnt use one! He uses the scope! So there is a light that shines in there and he can check for leaks from the inside when he is done. I was amazed at that. I didnt have to do the swallow test! I dont know if that means mine is really small or just the right size but I am going to trust my dr. who has done thousands of wls. I felt really good my first day and then I got heartburn really bad the second day. third day I felt hungover, then just tired for the rest of that week after getting home. I didnt take any pain meds because I wasnt in pain just sore and tired. I didnt like how the liquid lortab or the phenergan made me feel so I just took the occasional tylenol. I didnt need anything else. Good luck to you! I hope everything goes smoothly. Tammi
  12. After we talked yesterday, I felt better.... and then... he did it again this morning... only more passive aggressive... he yelled from the bathroom... woohoooo! I said "What happened?" He said, "oh its nothing, nevermind"... as If I could just let that go... then he said I am now at 212. He knew that I was still at 215. I was upset but I hid it and said congrats and he left for work... then I cried. I guess I am must an emotional sap. I am not going to let this affect my progress. I cant.
  13. Can you tell me how to get that charty thing??? I love that!
  14. I decided to talk to him on the phone during lunch today... since I cant eat yet... I told him how I felt about how he had been acting. He finally saw that he wasnt not being supportive doing this . He said he just wanted to be under 210 and he was focused on that so much so that he put me on the back burner and didnt consider my feelings. I told him I was glad he wanted to be healthy but surely since he had his turn for two years he could support me in my turn. He appologized to me about it and said he wanted to support me too and he wasnt trying to compete with me. I think we came to an understanding that we will support each other but not at the expense of the other one. I think he might do better now. I think this surgery and me losing weight just lit a fire under his ass to get to his goal weight too, even though he just has about 4 or 5 pounds to lose now. Thanks for listening. Tammi
  15. I have a lot to say about this one. I am having the same problem with my husband! He lost 60 pounds a couple of years ago and weighed about 215... he is 6'2". He is much healther now but then he started to gain a little back.. got up to 230. I weighed 234 three weeks ago and I had my surgery last monday. I am starting to loose already. He and I were walking and he said I should make my first goal to weigh less than him. He started watching what he ate from that day forward (presurgery). As I would weight in our bathroom and announce my weight loss, he would go in there and weigh. It has turned ugly the last few days. Yesterday, he jumped on the scales and said I weight 217.7! I weighed the exact same! I was excited! He said NO WAY! I am like, do you want me to reach my goal? YOU suggested it! So he has been competing with me because he doesnt want me to weigh less!!!!! I cant believe it! I said you are not supporting me, you are going against me! Of course I want him to loose back down and get healthy, but right now I need his support and for him to want me to do well. This morning he weighed and announced he was 214.9. of course I didnt loose 3 pounds overnight and was 215.9. So he went to work with a smile knowing I still weighed more than he did. I am so hurt about this. What gets into peoples heads???? I am very sad about it but I dont know what to do. Lash, I hope this doesnt happen to you but it sounds like it is. She is getting jealous that you are going to be in better shape than her so she is diligently working on it. Its a good thing but it can be taxing on a marriage. I know you want her to feel good about herself and be proud and supportive of you at the same time. Thats what I want too. I want him to be proud of himself too. My point is that when he lost his weight... we have celebrated and bragged for two years. I cant even get started good, til I am being made to feel he is against me and trying hard for me NOT to make my goal that he proposed for me... what to do, what to do.
  16. I had the same fears! I cried before surgery too. I was scared to death. I am a week and 2 days post op and I am back at work since Monday! Its not that painful, you will just be really tired. Kinda under the weather feeling. You will do great! Try to stop obsessing and just go head on and go with it!
  17. Thank goodness my MIL is 1600 miles away! AND... she doesnt know about my surgery. Only my parents and sister know. They live away too so I dont have to worry about that. My mother calls every night to ask what I had for dinner and tells me in detail what they had.... it sucks but she has always done that so I just blow it off. Its such a habit with her. Its funny how you realize the way you were raised was "hey, what yall having for dinner?" Everything revolves around food. Well, thats not going to be the case for me anymore. Im only a week out and on liquids so I dont need to think that way anymore. Good luck to all of you with sabboteurs in your lives. I hope It doesnt get to be too much. Tammi
  18. I went back today. I had my surgery Monday too. I am tired but making it. I have a really easy job though. I hope you feel better soon. Tammi
  19. I get a gurgling feeling with every sip. I try to sip slow. If I sip a little faster then I will get a feeling like a burp is caught in my chest.. it goes away in seconds.. the next sip is the same so I equate this to the full feeling. I wait about 5 or 10 minutes and then I can sip without this feeling. I am assuming this is the feeling. That tightness that comes after you have been sipping a while. Hope that helps and congrats on loosing 40 pounds already!!! wohoooo!
  20. I was sleeved 8/8. I am 6days postop and on Clear Liquids. I still have some gas pain but it is manageable now. I have to stay on clear liquids for three weeks! I get to add in my muscle milk Protein shakes tomorrow though and I am beyond thrilled! I feel your pain with the family going about their business eating everything. I have not cried yet about it but I have felt sad that I couldnt eat. I was on liquids a week before my surgery too. It feels like I havent eaten in a year. I have head hunger I think. I just like the smel and want to eat it. Not necessarily that my tummy wants it. Anyway, I am proud for you and keep up the good work! I want to hear all about how its going. I get to go to soft food week 4 and 5.
  21. I have been passing some serious gas but no more bm or sharts!!! Thank goodness!
  22. I'm very tired today and a little nausea too. Not bad though. I weighed today with clothes and have lost the surgery weight! So excited! Now I'm back to 225. Day of surgery weight. Its all downhill from here! So far I lost 9 pounds since beginning my pre op. Woohoo!
