  1. I am so glad you posted how it went!! And, that it went so well for you! If you can, post every day so I can read how you are doing. Today has been better for me on the liquid diet, my 3rd day! Not so hungry today, but some, and I noticed it dont matter where ya go, what ya watch on t.v., it is always about food, that is all people talk about!! I can do this!!! My surgery is on Monday like Lauria. She gets to eat regular good almost all week, not fair!!!! Oh well, I can do this, I just keep tellin myself. :nervous
  2. Hi all April Bandsters. I am on my 2nd day today of the liquid pre-op diet. I have to be on it for a week. Well, yesterday was not so bad, but today! URG! I am starving!! I called the Center and told them and they told me to use skim milk in my shakes instead of the water they call for. I did that, now have the RUNS!! Is this normal?? Will it be this way all week?? She told me that the hunger will stop mostly probably by tomorrow. Help from anyone????:omg:
  3. Wanted to tell all of yous going in today and the rest of this week for surgery, I am praying for all of you!! All will go well, and you will be out before you know it! I started the liquid diet today! My surgery is next Monday. It is not so bad, I really do feel quite hungry, but I am drinking all of the water I am supposed to , that helps. I see there are a couple of people here that are having the surgery the same day as me, I am watching how yous are handling the liquid diet!!??
  4. I am a soon fellow bandster!!! I get mine on the 16th. I also am getting mine:) in Michigan, Flint at Hurley. You and I are a couple of those over 50, so we have some in common. I will love to hear how your surgery goes. Anyone before mine is a comfort!
  5. Thinking of all of yous!! I am praying for all of yous having the surgery this week!! There seems to be a lot of you. Can't wait to hear how all of you are doing!! I think all of you are so brave!! And, I know you will do great!! Yous are the brave that go before the rest of us. Thinking of yous as you go into surgery this week, praying all will go great!!!
  6. You people are Superior!! Yous are the greatest inspiration, and some of the nicest people I have the great pleasure in sharing the lap band with!! I could not make it every day without my Band family on here! I am scheduled for surgery on April 16, can't wait for it to get here! I could not be doing this without the prayers and support of all of you!! Keep posting and I will keep reading. Blessings to all of you!!
  7. Hi, don't know if you saw my thread where they have changed my surgery date from April 12 to April 16th. Please change it on the thread you have going...Thanks...Margi
  8. Thanks Faith and Brandy for your encouragement!! I know it is just 4 days and I should not complain. I hope they are getting things in order, that is scary. Faith do you think your surgery will be in April also? What do you have left to get done for it? Or, are you just waiting on Hurley?
  9. Tracey, my surgery date has been changed. Will you change the post. It has changed from April 12 to April 16th. thanks ...Margi
  10. Hi all, today they called, and my Dr. is out on emergency family leave, and if I dont want to wait for him, well....I don't want to wait so I am having a different Dr. and ....they moved the date behind 4 days. It all is not so bad, I was just bummed for a while today. You all know how THAT date is so important!!!! But, I always believe the glass is half full, and Praise The Lord, the best medicine is a merry heart! So all look up with me. Thanks.
  11. It is great so see more Michiganders here! I also will be banded at Hurley in 3 weeks! You can be of help to all of us that are about to go through what you have.
  12. Hi jsmitty67, glad to see you here also! I have met faithmd also. Yes, you have to keep on them to get anything done! Don't wait for them to get it done. I am scheduled for surgery on April 12. Can't wait!! I start my pre op meals (liquid) on April 4th. There are getting to be a lot of April bandsters here. Maziemommy also started her 2 week liquid diet, I know it is gonna be rough, but she is a strong person, and so are we, and together we will all get through this!!!
  13. I am grateful for all of you April 06 Bandsters!! Your messages are inspirational! It is nice to see that yous who have been through this will share! I am 4'11"s, 215 pounds, and 55 years old. I am scheduled to get my band April 12th!! I can't wait! I will need the help and support of all of yous!! At this time, I have been doing crunches every other day to build up any stomach mucles. Does it matter, I dont know, just thot it might make sense to do this. I have been exercising, and walking, thinking although I am in bad shape, anything I can do now might make the surgery go better. Any advice from you all would be great! I am from Michigan.
  14. Dumb me! If I would have scrolled down farther, I would have seen the 07 April Bandsters. Never mind the thread before this!!!
  15. Hello! Add me to the list! April 12 is my surgery date! thanks...!!
  16. Can anyone tell me where I go to find the thread of April 2007 Bandsters? thanks!
  17. Faith, I grew up in Montrose which is near Flint. I have been to Hurley many many times in my life. It is the best! I have also always heard that Hurley is the best!!
  18. Thanks for the threads, and support. After studying all I can all day, I know remember why I chose Lapband in the first place. It is the best for me, and I am ready!!!
  19. Let me ask all of yous here also what you all think of doing the lap band, or mini bypass, or gastric bypass. I have been totally convinced to to the lap band, but lately people are trying to convince me that why not the mini by pass. Can all of you give me many reasons why the band is the best option, for you anyway?? thanks....
  20. Hi all, I know this question has been asked and answered many times. I just cannot find it. I have some people question me at this point as to why dont I just get a mini by pass instead of having a port open in my body. Someone help me out here, what do you all think???? thanks!!!!
  21. Hi all, I finally got my surgery date! I am excited! I will be an April Bander!!! I am blessed with all the support and prayers from all of you!!!
  22. I am 4'11" and the Dr. tells me that my insides are all crammed together. I am wondering if anyone else that is "short" has had a problem getting the band because of this???
  23. Hi Faithmd, I left a message on my private one for you, but not sure if it went through.I really dont know how to put a message on for a private one. Anyway, then maybe we were in the same class at Hurley with Dr. Obeid, on Feb. 20?? Tell me, then is it that there is to be another consultation with him before the surgery? I am finding that so far things have been quite unorganized at that place. What is PM? If it is like being a partner that would be great as you and I will probly have our surgeries near the same time. Will be waiting to hear from you!!
  24. :girl_hug: Hi, I saw your post from a few days ago. I also am getting banded at Hurley in Flint. I do not have a date set yet but am hoping for April. How far are you away from a surgery date? Glad to hear from someone else in Michigan, and the same hospital!!!
  25. Hi all, I had my consultation with the surgeon. One question he asked me was one I have not run into on this board. He asked that when he has me out for the surgery to put in the band, and IF he was to have to make the large incision in my middle, (it happens occassionally, for whatever reason),do I want him to go ahead and do the bi-pass? Or, do I want him to just close it up and forget it all??? What do you all think. He says he has only lost 2 patients in 2000 to death doing the by-pass. I know this sounds morbid but it does happen with any surgeon. I did not know how to answer him at this time, I have to think about it. I am thinking that if I am already open, he might as well do a bi-pass if I cant have the band. Please..I am open for opinions here!!!!!:omg:
