axd0424 got a reaction from gmanbat in Afraid to tell people I've been sleeved
I didn't hide it from anyone. I took the approach that I'm doing this for me. Most were supportive some are not. The ones that aren't. Screw them. Most are loving the transformation. Was much easier to not have to remember what I told and who I told. I just don't give a rats ass about those who look down on it. Never been happier and people say I glow.

axd0424 got a reaction from sheree212 in what do I need before surgery? help!
I swallow my pills just fine. I thing everyone is different and there is no status quo. My cymbalta only comes in capsule form and there was no was I was giving it up right now and going through the withdrawals. It's not recommended to empty the capsule either. So after asking on these boards and getting answers from yes to no I tried it and it went down fine. Do they recommend it? Nope. If it got stuck I'd figure something else out but to date it's been fine - sleeved 4/23

axd0424 got a reaction from Arts137 in Preop diet fail
I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to put you guys down but as one who has bad zero self control I think I did pretty damn well. Ok I cheated one night and my doctor chose to be sympathetic. I applaud all if you that we're able to get through pre op on liquids only. I really do. You have more self control than I did. I'm 2 weeks post op today and never felt better in my whole life. I'm not saying every one has a free pass to cheat. My only point that I wanted to make (don't think I did a good job though). Was just because a person doesn't make it through the pre op diet with out cheating gives no one the right to tell them "maybe you aren't ready". It's totally different after surgery and your mind is in a different place. Motivation triples and because of the sleeve you are physically limited. Sorry if I came off snarky. I will root for all of our successes and forgive forgive all of our failures. On another note 2 week follow up tmrw. Can't wait to see my weight!!!!!!!

I think that if we were all perfect we would never have needed this to begin with. Some doctors realize that and route for you when you have success. Mine is one of them

axd0424 got a reaction from BooKoo in Can we smoke 6 days after the procedure?
Totally not true. It depends on the doctor. My doctor knew I smoked. I cut way back and he was fine with it. I had no issues

axd0424 got a reaction from JShaw in Surgery Monday May 6th - anxious and nervous!
Good luck to all of you!! I know you will do great. These feelings are very. Normal. I was sleeved 4-23. I was fine until I got to the pre op room and saw the nurses waiting for me. Tears started flowing. The said to me - you are in good hands and keep your eye on the prize - They were so right. 20 lbs down since the pre op diet. I fit in a pair if jeans yesterday that I haven't been able to fit into for 6 years. I won't lie and tell you it's easy. The first week after surgery was a roller coaster. Your emotions will go from - I miss food to what have I done. Just remember those feelings will pass within a day or two. Prayers to all of you!!!!!

Amen sister. I hate the word tool too. It's not a tool. It's removal of most of your stomach!

Thanks guys. I've heard about this breakdown but though nah, not me. Boy was I wrong. I'm lucky coffee is on my liquid list. I think I will get some v8 Soup today. I've read about a lot of people eating that to take off the edge. I used to love crystal light and now it nauseates me lol. Oh the struggles we face for a better life.
Ps. I too would kill for a piece of roast beef. Lol.

axd0424 got a reaction from cmarie in Sleeved tuesday home last night
Hi guys. Surgery went great. Was supposed to b in the hospital 2 nights but was doing great so the let me come home last night. I have to stay on a liquid diet for 2 more weeks. Not a problem as I'm so thirsty. The told me the biggest challenge will b getting enough fluids so that's what I'm concentrating on. Stomach is making nasty noises. Probably from gas and bad heartburn. All in all I'm doing good but worried about getting enough fluids. Ill keep checking in to let u know of my progress.
