Scheduled First Fill For Next Week..help???

Everyone is different with the way thier bodies handle the fills and how much makes them tight or not. However try not to be nervous, You see alot of the bad on this site not all of the good. I have had 2 fills so far and they have both been very easy. Just remember to eat slow, small bites, and chew chew chew! My first fill only gave me temporary restriction at 4cc, my second fill totaling 6cc now gives me a good amount of restriction but definitely not my green zone. Your doctor will know about how much your body can handle. My Doc always has me down a glass of water before they complete the fill to make sure its not to tight. If they do not do this I would ask to do it anyways.
  3. I thought I would post a litlle about where I am at, 3 months after surgery. First off I still Love my band and have I do not have any regrets. My surgery date was February 16th, 2012. My starting weight was 232lbs. Since surgery I have lost 38lbs. WooHoo! It feels amazing and its starting to look amazing too! Along with that victory I have had those amazing Non scale victories that just make this whole process worth it. One of my NSV's was Shopping in the Juniors section and purchasing a size 13! (now they are loose 11 here I come ) As for my Lapband, I believe i have a 10cc LapBand, i am currently filled to 6cc. I have had two fills so far and have just experienced what restriction feels like. I am still getting used to what foods work for me and what do not. So far this seems to be a new process each fill. I feel that the Lap Band has been a success so far for me because I have changed my life style completely, I realize this is forever, I do not deprive myself like I am on one of my old hardcore diets. I eat healthy as a lifestyle now, not a 4 week diet. When I am craving something that is higher in calories than normal I will allow myself a bite if it is something my band will even allow and I stop there and move on with my life. My biggest motivator is knowing that these 38lbs are not coming back and that this is just the beginning! I know this website can be full of issues which we all run into at some point or another, but I just wanted to post my progress so far because nothing motivates me more than reading others stories and learning how they are living with the lap band.
  4. Happy 23rd Birthday 4kmarie!

  5. you are all helping so much, I did go on a short walk this evening with my family, then I went for a drive and decided to pick up a small container of soup and mashed potatoes, felt so great to go out and do something and also to eat a couple of bites of something that tasted different. So feeling a lot better for now.
  6. wow I really relate to everything you mentioned! Nice to know that others feel this way. thank you for responding, good luck on your journey!
  7. Hello Everyone, I was banded on Feb. 16th. So 5 days ago, for some reason this afternoon I just got really down, I can't really pinpoint exactly why Im feeling depressed however I can imagine it is a combination of things. For instance, I am still off work so I am feeling really lonely even though my husband and baby are home with me, I can barely eat anything, I am so sick of tasteless liquid! Is this normal? Anyone else feel depressed right after surgery? If so how long did it last and what did you do to pull yourself out of it? I hate feeling this way so It would mean alot to have some suggestions, Thank you. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
  8. well my surgery is less than a week away, scheduled for february 16th !!! Yay I am so excited, before yesterday it was all i could think about! however my aunt passed away whom I was very close to, so now I kind of have that clouding up my brain. Through all of it I am just trying to stay on track!! At work today my boss asked me to get him lunch, man, that was hard. I am currently on my pre op diet. So I had to walk in to one of my favorite fast food joints and order him like the worst thing you could order. I am obviously strong because I did it, but definitely hard. I guess i can be positive about that and think well I have lost 7lbs in 5 days due to the fact that I am changing my life away from those bad choices the old me used to make. I'll claim VICTORY on that. Just felt like voicing that.
  9. Thank you for all of the great ideas! Yes Calimom I have dieted sucsessfully before, obviously with life and a pregnancy those sucessfull diets turned out to not be the long term solution to keeping weight off. I was only asking for ideas and suggestions from some of you experienced people in here I definitetly think i will do the two protein shakes and 1 meal a day.
  10. I have 23 days left til surgery on Feb 16th. I need to lose 10 lbs, any body have any suggestions. My doc doesnt require the "pre op diet" just no food the day before he just wants me to lose 10lbs. I appreciate any feedback

  12. MY REQUEST FOR INSURANCE APPROVAL WAS SENT IN ON THURSDAY OR FRIDAY TO HEALTHNET, THE COORDINATOR SAID IT WOULD BE ABOUT 2 TO 3 WEEKS FOR RESPONSE. OMG! I HAVE HEARD SOME PEOPLE SAYING THEY GOT THERE RESPONSE WITHIN DAYS SOME SAYING MONTHS. ANY BODY WITH SOME EXPERIENCE? I AM SO SCARED OF WHAT THEY WILL TELL ME! I JUST WANT MY RESPONSE ALREADY SO THAT I CAN PREPARE, IM READY TO BE EXCITED ABOUT HAVING SURGERY BUT THE FEAR OF GETTING MY HOPES UP KEEPS ME IN LIMBO.

Health Net Blue & Gold ***

i have healthnet h m o and i live in so cal, I saw my primary care doctor in July so about 5 months ago, I had to obviously meet the criteria, then i was referred to a dietitian which was a quick appointment to get history of family and weight loss, next i went to a psych appointment, then surgeon orientation. My surgeon had a few of his own requirements which i finally met all of those as of last night! So my insurance request was sent in today. So far there wasn't any problems with insurance referring to each step. I was also told by the insurance coordinator at my surgeon office that healthnet is nice to work with because they are aware at this point that i am trying to have weight loss surgery because I have followed they're necessary steps to get here. Good luck with your journey.
  14. Good luck to you! I hit a bump. The psychologist said I failed the questionnaire. I was to scared to answer the questions about stress or depression and they said that I was not in touch with my emotions and wouldn't be ready to make a life style change. Luckily the lady said after talking with me face to face she didn't believe it was true so she is having me retake the test. Only bummer is I have to wait for approval frm ins. And and take another 2 hr test. But o well just trying to stay encouraged.
  15. Today I have my final psych appointment I had to do 2. First was for the test, this one is to go over the test. Then I go to meet the surgeon. Getting excited but how much more do I have to look forward to once I meet the surgeon?? I know I have to do a ekg and other test before we send in for approval to blueshield. But for those already thru this stage how long did it take? Thanks
