  1. I can only tolerate the EAS brand carb control shakes. Strawberry is my fav
  2. hi guys, So i'm down about 23 lbs with 3 fills. Still not in the green zone. Happy with the scale consistently moving 2lbs a week though. Have a great week!
  3. check out the couch 2 5k program! I started running with that program 5 years ago and havent stopped! I run 5 days a week now
  4. I've been banded and rebanded. It's been about 5 years. I have never reached my goal, despite low carbing, tracking every single calorie for 4.5 years straight, running a half marathon, training for one 4x, working out with a trainer for 2 years, becoming a trainer myself for 2 years and getting rebanded due to a leak. Just as before the band, I still have to count all foods, no sugar, minimum carbs etc. I took about 6 months off of logging, had a tight band, stuck with my usual diet of whole grains and lean Protein, worked out 6 hours a week and gained 40lbs back. So no, for me the diet mindset is CONSTANT! the moment i relax I gain wait. I've been losing about 2lbs a week since rebanding 10 weeks ago. I relaxed one weekend and ate 1800 calories one day due to having ice cream on a weekend get a way. And gained 4lbs back in one week. I even have a bodybugg and make sure i'm in a 1000 calorie deficit or more each day. I often wonder is fat is my plight in life. I can't seem to shake it. I currently run 5 days a week and strength train 3 days with a trainer and still, can't seem to lose more than 2 lbs a week. So for me, I would have to say the diet mindset looks as though it's permanent , i'll never be "normal" and be able to have bday cake without gaining a lb that week. I wonder if I sleep walk and eat fast food in the middle of the night!
  5. 2nd fill this Thursday, I'm down 14 lbs now. I'm good with that, my "fat" clothes are too big now. But now quite into my one size down yet. Hopefully with 5 more lbs I will be. Can't wait to take that size 8 wardrobe back out of my closet! It's almost 2 years since I've worn any of it. Man that weight just crept up on me. This week was my biggest loss so far at 3lbs, I was stoked to see it on the scale. well have a great week bandsters!
  6. Hi, so I'm about 6 weeks post op, lost about 13 lbs so far and all of the sudden I have terrible shoulder pain! Only had one fill, so I knw i"m not too tight, I need another fill here soon. It wakes me up it hurts so bad and when i take a deep breath. Unfortunately, My surgeon's program at the hospital by my house was bought out by another hospital and then shut down until new bylaws are created. So he is now 2 hours away! =(. I don't have the time to go up there to see him. I don't recall having pain like this the last time around it's so uncomfortable. D
  7. lost 8lbs so far...hoping for another 2lb loss this week, at least. Getting a fill on Thursday. Everyone doing well?
  8. Razzcat! I'm so sorry! That's so frustrating I know! Especially when it seems as though everyone has huge losses their first month. Something that helps me is tracking my calorie intake on www.myfitnesspal.com, I use the iphone app and it's amazing. My Dr. wanted me to do 800 calories day and I was far too tired to keep up with it, so now I am doing 1000-1200 and actually starting to lose steadily and have more energy too. Keep in mind that even though we have a band, it's still calories in vs. calories out. Maybe you aren't burning as many calories as you are taking in? Keep your spirits up, I am also a slow loser and seem to have a harder time than anyone. I totally understand your frustrations. D
  9. surgery july 21st...Loss 6 lbs. Had a fill, I feel pretty good restriction. Second band, so I think that is why loss is slow going. My body is used to calorie restriction.
  10. One month bandiversary today...only down about 6lbs. Hoping that I lose a few more on my weigh in this week.
  11. I had my first fill today, 1.9cc and I was only down 5.6 lbs since surgery. Slow going for sure!
  12. i had surgery july 21st and I'm only down 6lbs...
  13. don't be too nervous about the fill, it typically takes about 5 minutes and you don't really notice a difference right away. My surgeon has me do a day of liquids then a day of mushy then back to regular meals. The first fill usually doesn't give you the restriction you've hoped for so you will be riding it out on will power once again. By now small meals are a habit and it shouldn't be quite so difficult. I wish that I had more will power the first time around because i had stretched my pouch quite a bit, really be conscious about the amount of food you put in, even if you are still hungry stop eating and have more a few hours later after the pouch has had a chance to empty. I wish that I had been more careful. Good luck!! D
  14. i take the target brand fiber gummies and they seem to help
  15. For some reason my surgeon recommends 800 calories, I did question it because, I do have a little bit of education in nutrition and I have always learned that a woman needs to eat at least 1200 calories a day for optimal metabolism. So, I decided that this time around I am following the docs orders to a T and at my first till I will def. speak to the nutritionist and get some things straight. I plan on showing her my food logs and see where to make some improvements. I would guess protein, I'm not getting more than 40 grams a day or so. I'm pretty sure my metabolism is a bit screwed up due to 5 years of calorie restriction, the minute the band was unfilled and I started eating 1500-1800 calories a day, I put on 40 lbs super fast, just a matter of a few months. So frustrating. I wish I could just be like a regular thin person. Eat till I'm full, exercise daily and maintain a healthy weight. But noooooo....I must obsess over protein, calories, portions, it's like torture! I sometimes wonder what I did wrong in life to have this as my lot.
