Boy, the mind is so powerful.
We’re all here going or have gone through this. It’s a learning process. You’ll be happy one minute and hell bent the next. From my own experience, learning to chew and savor your bites really does help. And that only comes from practice. I’ve spent a lifetime mindlessly eating or feeling like conquering the plate to be satisfied. I’ve gone through frustration, depression and just being pissed off. To me this is the worst addition because you HAVE to eat, so you are temped everyday, multiple times. This tool forces me to change and it is a huge change. Deciding to have surgery means I’ve needed help to stop the madness. It’s all a withdrawal/learning experience that will make you come out a healthy winner. Just chalk this up as one of those times and find a routine before it gets out of control. Everyone is here for you with great advice and tips. You got this!

This is when it really hits home. You are going through food withdrawals. I just had a revision from band to sleeve and I’m 14 days post and feeling the same thing, just not as intense as the first time around. Just don’t push it, please. Let the internal incision heal. I also just had my 2 week dr visit today and 6 more days until mushy to semi solids. You can do this. You’ll make it through and look back and be glad you did. Protein helps keep you full. I hate shakes and put unflavored GENEPRO in my broth. It’s a little scoop that has 30 grams and it really keeps you from feeling hungry. I hope this helps!

2 weeks out today!! Total weight loss including pre op is 28 lbs. I have been wearing jammies and shorts and such. Today I braved my skinny jeans and a I pulled out a shirt I haven’t worn in 3 years because it’s been too small for me. The skinny jeans which were a little tight are a little looser and the legs have a little room in them!! My shirt fits!!!!!!!!!! 😍😭😍😭😍😭😍

I started adding GENEPRO to my yogurt (Oikos Triple Zero) and I love that you can't taste it at all!

I lost 6 lbs over the weekend even though I ate the wrong food the portions were so small the impact was low because I was so full. The cravings are gone and I’m back on the program, since I now know what I can and cannot eat I’m good to go now

I'm a week post and know your feeling. I finally broke this weekend and took a tsp. of Peanut Butter. It was just what I needed - I know I'm still two weeks from that stage, but that little bit helped me and satisfied my urges for texture other than liquid. I'll confess my sins next week at my post-op appointment but I'll admit it was what I and my body needed at that moment

3nuthut got a reaction from Ninarwiener in Waking up from Surgery. Any Tips?
I just spent my first night in hospital recovering and I went through the same thing. I tried not to whine but the pain was so great and I just wanted them to stick to the pain med schedule until morning. Nope it didn’t happen and I felt like I had to constantly trying to justify for more pain meds. By this morning I was a wreck, with very little sleep and still in acute pain. I asked my morning nurse why it’s so hard to get my pain meds? She couldn’t believe they were lowering my dosage and gave me what the doctor prescribed. Thank God I was able to rest before hubby came to pick me up around 2pm.
I know everyone is on high alert with narcotics but this was absolutely unnecessary. I felt like I wasn’t believed as far as pain (and I have a high tolerance).
Very disappointed. I hope you are getting better with your pain...I think I am but it’s a slow go.

I'm going to pureed foods starting on MONDAY! Been daydreaming about salsa and guacamole...who needs chips? ? Oh and also that famed ricotta bake, can't wait!
Also, I hope it's okay to gush because...I JUST HIT 30 POUNDS DOWN TODAY! Counting my two week pre-surgery liquid diet and the almost three weeks since surgery I have lost THIRTY FREAKING POUNDS!!! HOLY FREAKING SH**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!
236 is my first goal - it's the lowest weight I've been in the last decade - and now I'm only like 16 pounds away from that. THAT IS NUTS!
I've had multiple days of no losses and even gains the past week and have been feeling discouraged/worried about what things would be like when I progress from my current liquid stage, so I had to share the rebound! Sorry if that's annoying to do here!!

All went well. For the most part the pain feels like acid reflux??? Pop cycles help sooth the burning feeling but still there. Protein Shakes is helping too. @TaylorMade4One are you still hungry? I’m kinda getting that way too.
