Questions for sleevers at least 1 Year Post Op…
Dr. Zane said he only uses a size 32 ...I tried white grain bread today and it was terrible!!! Dr. Zane did tell me bread is typically difficult to get down, but I just wanted to try it lol. It gave me pain and felt stuck, no more bread for me (at least white grain). Congrats on your weight loss

Pros and Cons of the Sleeve Procedure
Cons Gas pain was terrrrrible first week At first not being able to drink or eat anything without that pain Feeling depressed, and having those what the heck did I do moments (this was really bad) Not having any energy due to the fact not eating enough Hating food moments, because not enjoying it anymore Foods tasting totally different than before the surgery Not being able to drink with my meals, I reallllly miss that alot...and not being able to drink diet soda with meals I just stopped using pepcid a few days ago, and my tummy feels weird after eating now (going to find out what that's about at next appt) Pros Feeling really good about myself Wearing a size 12 and dropping (been over 18 years ago since I've worn that size) Knees feel better I'm NOT heavier than my hubby anymore...thank GOD! My mother who was home with me (while hubby was at work) first couple of weeks after surgery saw what I went through and just asked me last week, "so was it worth it" and said "YES" with a huge smile on my face!!! It's a great tool

How much can you eat
I eat a few bites and I get that super full feeling (Thanksgiving dinner full). It's such a trip from where I've come from. Yesterday I ordered a small side (so tiny) of some type of beef and mushrooms at Panda Express for lunch (trying to get that Protein in) and I ate probably a little over half. I used to be able to down a whole complete meal with 2 Entrees and rice and chow mein, and guzzle tons of diet pepsi, AND STILL HAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT LOL. By the way with some foods I can eat more of than others. For some reason I can eat a lot of watermelon.

new weird feelings
Yes I've been taking them since the day of my surgery. At my post op he said to stop taking them at 6 weeks. I wonder why I just can't keep taking them if they make me feel better...I will be seen again on the 21st. But if my tummy still has this yucky feeling I may start them up again. Thanks!!!

new weird feelings
My surgeon said to go ahead and stop taking the pecid yesterday. I was only taking 1 pill at night. Anyway, I didn't take one last night and my stomach feels really weird...I sort of feel sick to my stomach. How did you feel once you stopped pepcid (or something like it)? Just wondering ...thanks for your help.

Feeling Guilty
Beautiful post ...I am 6 weeks out today, and I'm so thankful to the Lord for this wonderful blessing . And I thank the Lord for all the encouragement from all of you ...love you all sleeve sisters!

recovery time off work?
I took 4 weeks off and it was perfect. I was tore up after my sleeve. NO ENERGY at all. Emotionally and physically drained. By day 14 I was feeling good. It was nice to nap as needed and really take time to heal. I have read where sleevers literally are sleeved and the next day shopping (???) That's so hard for me to believe for that was not the case with me, but everyone is different. I would say if you can take as much time off as possible to adjust. Just my humble opinion

Having Trouble Eating
Just take it easy and take it one day at a time ...I'm six weeks out tomorrow and still have a difficult time getting it all in. I try not to be too hard on myself and know that eventually it will all come together

What does "slimes" mean?
O wow! I didn't know what in the heck this was. It's so gross...And yes it lasts a long time :tongue_smilie:. I don't have any pain though, just the gross thick spit that I have to keep spitting out.
