  1. Yup I totally agree. Weight distorts...my daughter (13) is totally getting sick of all the whoop la when people discover my age ...they say things like omg your mom looks like your sister blah blah blah...the dentist assistant asked my son (18) how he felt about having such a young looking mom, he didn't know what to say, poor guy.
  2. That's awesome Mr. Mason! Congrats to YOU!
  3. Awww thanks girlie! I'm actually 43 now...the people at the support group and options last week thought I was in my 20's (I'm sure very LATE 20's) LOL...I'm so thankful...THANK YOU JESUS!!! AND Thanks to my sleeve I feel BETTER THAN EVER yayyyyyyyyyyy!
  4. CONGRATS COOP YOU LOOK MARVELOUS :-)
  5. Thank you for this post mini...you have encouraged me since I started here back in June 2010 and thru my journey, and I can't thank you enough. You are a blessing and an inspiration to me and I hope I will be able to help others like you have helped me ...love and hugs
  6. Well there it is...as I always say DIETS work, it's keeping OFF the weight that is the challenge...most people think wls is a CURE, and that's so not true, it's a huge TOOL, but we (I speak for myself) will ALWAYS have to watch what we eat, etc. etc. etc. (big sigh)...and I think that's what I reallllllly realized on Thursday night (bigger sigh) .
  7. GREAT QUESTION!!!! And it is scarrrry! I haven't read any of the above posts yet, but I'm sure there are folks out there...I got scared straight on Thursday night. I went to a support group (mostly gastric bypass peeps) and a lot of them were gaining back weight, and some of them never got to goal it was a wake up call for me to stop fooling around (eating junk) and get with the program seriously.
  8. hmmmm...why would he do that? My surgeon used a size 32 period. I can totally understand sewing over the staple line as a precaution, but making it smaller after the fact doesn't make sense...just sayin I looked at this post because my friend is researching sleeve surgery in Mexico and I'm trying to get the 411 for her.
  9. I had 1 chicken el carbon taco from El Pollo Loco last night for dinner and that is perfect for me...I'm 5 months out.
  10. I believe it's foods that go down easy and you can eat a lot of it...for me its Funyons (so I stay away from them).
  11. We HAVE to do it again Pam ...I hope we inspired someone today
  12. My taste buds totally changed after surgery. I would say after 3 months everything was back to normal
  13. YOU GO GIRL!!!!
  14. You are doing AMAZING Leslie!!!!! I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy for you!!! I too am losing hair like crazy (thank GOD for my extensions LOL), and sagging skin, BUT my knees are feeling really good right now which makes it all worth it
  15. I checked and my scale is also a Taylor digital scale . It's a very good scale. very old, but good. I wont be seeing it until next Thursday lol
  16. I have a friend who wants to get the sleeve done in TJ. She said Dr. Lopez and Dr. Kelly are inexpensive. If there are any patients out there PLEASE give me the 411...THANK YOU in advance.
  17. I too share that same fear of going under, but it was totally worth it for me. Since this is not an emergency surgery, it will be different this time. You will have time to talk to all the nurses, surgeon, etc. You are going to love your sleeve
  18. I have my fingers crossed for you
  19. 5K
